This has got to be one of the oldest pubs in South Wales, it's medieval and dates from 1380. I havn't eaten here, but there is also a well respected restaurant upstairs offering a good selection of seafood dishes. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Served with a choice of either fries or chunky wedges (think roast potato wedges and you'll get the idea). The cafe makes its own hot sauces and strawberry jams, all of which you should try if you get a chance as they're all scrumptious. You can even buy jars of the sauces to take home. Service is warm & friendly and you're made to feel incredibly welcome the second you walk in the door to the moment you leave. The fruit and vegetables are always beautiful and fresh, the meats are produced there on site and are delicious and nicely priced. The speciality sausages are lovely and there is stacks of other produce too, all local. Things like bread, cheese, eggs, icecream, cakes, preserves and much more. Not only is it a farm shop but also the best carvery in the area. The carvery is also a cafe and they do breakfasts and light lunches as well as hot food on non-carvery days. Get there early though (half eleven) if planning a carvery as the queues are huge!
