[Dr. Star was AMAZING! HIs PAs were always wonderful too!] My son came back from college in Chicago, needed help with a sickness and to get some medical records- The man who answered the phone was great, compassionate, thorough and helpful. The woman who called us back was nasty. She was NOT the doctor or PA- she called us back to say only my sick son could talk to them, that he needed an adult doctor and would not tell us the doctor he saw for his heart before. My son tried, sickly to ask all the questions he didn't really understand. I tried to ask through him since I have a medical background, but a feverish sick person can't easily relay questions. She was so horrible, she wouldn't help in any fashion. Her tone was clipped and intentionally sharp/mean-We needed guidance, and she told us to start from scratch though he is allowed to go to a pediatrician until 21. The man who answered the phone was great, this woman called us back and was not nice or compassionate at any moment. She must be the one they use to call with bad news.

He always makes the time for us to discuss our kids' health concerns and most importantly puts things in perspective and talks us off the proverbial ledge. He is so measured and kind with an encyclopedic knowledge of pediatric medicine. It was during a routine appointment with our daughter that he mentioned something we hadn't encountered in our first-time-parents' research. He told us about the prevalence of febrile seizures and what to do if we encountered such an experience with our kids. His soothing voice entered our ears a year later when our daughter suddenly had a febrile seizure. The experience would be terrifying if it were not for Dr. Garcia's thoughtful explanation/preparation of such an event. We followed his sage advice and were able to stabilize our daughter before the paramedics arrived. This is one of countless times that Dr. Garcia has been our guiding light in all things medical. Unexpected things come up and you need a doctor who has EXTENSIVE knowledge to cover all bases. We've leaned into Dr. Garcia's expertise for years and we are always confident after speaking with him. In his presence, you know that you are with a doctor who cares deeply for his patients like they are family. I can't recommend him enough. A brilliant doctor and an all around amazing human being. Thank you, Dr. Garcia!

I truly cannot say enough good things about this practice.

There are definitely drawbacks to the urgent care approach. Even with appointments, my two visits have taken a while. When I visited on a Saturday during flu season, my son and I waited for about four hours. At least one child, who was a baby in an emergency situation, jumped the line because of necessity. What I liked is that the receptionist communicated with those of us who were getting jumped what was happening and why it was necessary. My second visit, during the week, took about an hour. The waiting room features a TV (that played Bluey during our three hour wait), fish tank and some stools that can be moved around. It was enough to keep my sick son occupied while we waited. The actual patient rooms are also fitted with TVs, playing something different than the waiting room, and some wall games as well. Medicine, in some instances, can be purchased on site to save the hassle of a prescription at a pharmacy. Electrolyte popsicles were also available to my son when they were concerned about dehydration. Lollipops and treasure boxes are offered on the way out. All in all, when last minute sickness strikes my kids and their normal pediatrician is not available, I have no qualms taking my kids to Urgent Care of Towson.

My oldest daughter went misdiagnosed with scoliosis for so long, it was so bad that when her middle school nurse caught it she needed her entire spine fused. I chalked that up to something that she might not have normally looked for. However the final straw was with our middle son. We were informed this year from his school that he needed to work with someone for behavioral issues with his attention and ADHD. We went through all of the required testing from his school and turned it over to his doctor. The front desk never got back to us, then told us they lost the paperwork. We supplied them with another copy, two weeks went by and still no answer. When we called we were told that the doctor misplaced the papers again. We finally got in to see a new doctor for all of the kids, we have three, and the difference is unbelievable. I don't know why we waited so long to dump this practice!

We've been here a few months now and each and every time I contacted them for my child medical issues, they've been on point! I even dealt with his not so nice wife (the reason for the huge turn over). I was going to court for a foster child and the day before the notes were requested from her last doc visit. I emailed the office first thing in the morning. No reply all day. I called and was told they have a new policy. It would take 72hr for them to print out the notes for me. Mind you I've been there and seen that it only takes 5 minutes to print. I explained the situation and asked for this one time courtesy. The girl said no. Wouldn't let me speak to Mrs.Darlene (docs wife). I call back again trying to get the young girl to understand that sometimes exceptions have to be made and I've been supporting him 30 yrs etc. still she refused. I asked her to have Darlene call me but of course she never returned my call. So I texted doc Israel's cell phone. Explained the situation and he said they were working on printing my notes right then (a lie). I thanked him and even asked God to bless him. But the office closed with out me getting my call back from Darlene or me getting those notes for court. He didn't support this foster baby in an emergency so I will no longer support him. He always said "I'm so proud of you mama and the job your doing with these foster babies". Well I'm no longer proud of his job with my foster babies. I'm disappointed and hurt by how cold and uncaring this girl was. I'm bettering lives and she was gate keeping somethjng so important that would've taken her 5 minutes. Btw I did eventually get the notes but of course not in time and only after going in person

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO RIDGLEY CHOICE MEDSTAR FOR YOUR CHILD OR SELF !!!!…read more2x my child has been misdiagnosed from this place and most recently was Sunday 8 /9/2026 . There is never doctors there for starters But the nurse practitioner that was working that day told me abruptly when I asked for an antibiotic for my son that it was not an infection !! So no I am not prescribing him an antibiotic and for me to go by $11 canker sore melts and proceed to say is that affordable for you ? when his whole mouth was filled with sores ! obviously that's a virus! He proceeded to get worse and we ended up at the ER and what did they give him antibiotic immediately and lidocaine mouth rinse. A few years ago, they gave my child the wrong antibiotic and diagnosed him and he ended up in the hospital with 104 fever! But this past Sunday with the nurse practitioner working ( only one ) had no idea what she was doing, and if you can't look at a Patient and know that's a virus and I work in the health field. I'm not a doctor but it was obvious. She didn't like it that I told her no we need an antibiotic which she refused to give us and is exactly what he needed. Not to mention, waiting over an hour in the room for someone to come in .. The people at the front desk, not friendly or compassionate one bit ! If you live in the area, I suggest you go over to the one by Whitemarsh mall or to Patient First because this place is the worst !!!! You Never get a doctor there, but I have heard more people complain, about misdiagnosing people there than anywhere.. How would you get the proper care anyway when they don't even have a doctor there and have one nurse practitioner but when the doctor took one look at him in the ER right away, they got an antibiotic immediately in him This is exactly why so many are losing faith in the medical field because they don't treat you as an individual as we all are and here I knew more than this nurse practitioner did, but the way she came back at me about an antibiotic. It was like I was asking for pain medication. for people to walk in not feeling good or injuries whatever it is and to have people at the front desk not greet you with a smile ,not nice is your first experience going in which tells a lot right there ! I advise you to go somewhere else. This place is terrible and basically couldn't care less who is treating the patients .

I've felt listened to and cared for both times I've been. I like that you can ask staff to be masked. They have hand sanitizer everywhere. I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes to be seen after checking in. I enjoy having the tablet to check in so that I'm not handling a clipboard. The best part is they take walk-ins and appointments but I've only ever walked in because I didn't expect things to happen. They double check on where to send any meds for me and if I need a referral, they put it in for me. I've been to a lot of urgent cares and left miserable and upset, this has not been one of those places for me.
