Well tonight , I stopped at town mart to get some items. As I was walking in the store, I had a personal size pizza box that I threw away. As soon as I walk in a man sitting behind the counter next to the clerk said " are you f*king serious ... you threw away a pizza box .?!. He then followed me out the door and sarcastically said " don't worry I'll take care of your pizza box" it was so embarrassing . This man next to me stood up for me & Asked if he would rather someone litter. It's obvious he is unfit or resentful to be employed in a customer service position. As an example I stopped there today, for the last time, to get a scratch ticket. When I returned to cash it in for another, he was obviously irritated because I interrupted his snack. He told in, in a very unpleasant way, that I should have bought 2 to start. Then he called me a Lazy American. I'm retired now, after 50 years of work, achieved a double BA, a master's degree, and two PhDs, all while working. Believe me when I say it wasn't easy. Furthermore I have never been without a high responsibility job and served the nation in wartime. So, you can appreciate my distain for his attitude. And that has been a long history for him. I try to react to negative people, but today was the last straw. They had a good selection of beer from real close, from Massachusetts, and of course from the rest of the country/world. * Walk in cold storage in the back. * Didn't partake since we were on the way out of town, but there was wine tasting going on. The store carries liquor, wine, and beer. * Friendly staff. Cons: * I do wish local stuff had been a little better designated. There was local and local-ish kind of all over the cold storage room, so it was a little hard to figure out at first for us out of towners.

The…read moreliquor superstore is one of the largest in New England and carries a wide selection of wine, spirits, beer, hard cider, and mead at very competitive prices. As of 2026, there are additional locations in Attleboro, Norwood, and Swansea. I recently made a trip to Yankee Spirits while I was passing through the Sturbridge area. I have visited before, but this was my first visit in about six years or so. They have an absolutely enormous selection of alcoholic beverages, but I was only interested in exploring their very impressive selection of craft beer. I don't make it to this area very often, so I was most looking forward to see if they carried anything that's either hard to find or just totally unavailable in my home area of New Haven, Connecticut. I spent maybe a half hour just walking down the aisles and seeing what all of the options were. Afterwards, I was ready to begin shopping. I ended up purchasing a pretty sizable haul which should keep my refrigerator full for a while. Most of the beers I grabbed were rare barrel-aged stouts, but I also picked out a few IPAs and other various styles that no longer get distribution in my home area. If you're looking for a serious selection of excellent craft beer, wine, or spirts in New England then look no further than Yankee Spirits!

It's actually not a good place if you get overwhelmed easily as the store has about 800% inventory at all times and they span from the basics to absolute top shelf temp/humidly controlled storage for basically anything you can drink. Staff is so helpful they make shopping pleasant - I went in looking for Marsala wine to make a chicken dish and after talking to a wine person there I had 3 more dish ideas and left with something completely different than Marsala wine - and it was incredible.
