It's so lovely to have these exchange things around this side of the town. Their is a cute little creek next to the park and trail. I just love how you can hear the water runs next to the park. It's a perfect place to sit, relax, and listen to the water flowing down. While watching kids playing on the jungle gym, people running/ biking or using the free accessible work out stations. The only CONS is that during certain time of the year, the ducks from the water basin next to the park will fly over and poop everywhere.

It also has a side of the canal. Clear water is running and it looks good. You can seat at the edge and enjoy the water. I didn't see any warnings saying not to go in it but maybe is not permitted. There are bathrooms too. They are not too bad. It was a nice stroll at this park. And we enjoyed our reading time on the shaded area.

My boys really enjoyed the list of things to look for while exploring. On the list we found bugs, butterflies, lizards, flowers and a few more. The garden has a few shady spots that were much needed for a break from the heat. They also have a little section of music instruments to play. We didn't get to try them but someone was playing a beautiful melody while we were there. When we were done exploring the beautiful garden we headed back to the visitor center. The boys both got stickers for completing their activities list. Inside the visitor center they also sell some beautifully crafted cups, soaps, honey and other trinkets. My boys picked out a few toys and I go their honey. The honey is actually really delicious.

It was always a great way to spend some outdoor time and get fresh air. The new building in the botanical garden is incredible and 100% community funded! That means the volunteers and donors of this space fully own everything! With zero government red tape, they're able to fast track art events, adult ED classes, garden parties, and create jobs for the community. The new building is beautiful and comes with a small gift shop, selling local artist pieces, indoor meeting/recreation area, and an shaded outdoor patio. The patio is public and available for anybody who is walking the trail. We actually ate our lunch here, before walking the botanical garden trail for a nature scavenger hunt. They also cleaned up a few of the trails and opened up a few more areas for outdoor events. This is a great addition to the Clovis community and if you haven't been yet, get yourself here and support this beautiful botanical garden!

The playground area is fairly large with multiple slides and bridges connecting all of the monkey bars and play areas. During our visit, there was a large kids birthday party happening in one of the patios and they had plenty of space for corn hole, gifting table, and a piñata set up. Where : this place is tricky to find but it's behind the Clovis fire department Station 3 at the…read morecorner of Minewawa and Villa but, Villa ( if you are going from south ) it turns to Minewawa so instead of keep going , if you see the fire department, turn right immediately and the parking lot will be on your right. It's easy to miss since it's a very small parking lot ( enough for 5 - 6 cars). There's a potter potty there and a picnic table and some signage. You can park your car here and take the Dry Creek Trail to Cottonwood Park which is only 1/2 mile , or go a little further and hit Dry Creek Park and the Clovis Botanical Garden or , all the way to the other trailhead which is the metal horse statue (Sunnyside and Shepherd). There are mile markers along the trail so you know how far you walked from the trailhead. Nicely paved trail good for strollers too. Good walking and running trail.

Today, we hiked within half a mile off the main trail. The Wawona Trail is about a 6-mile drive from Yosemite South Gate entrance. Wawona Trail Hike: Distance: 4.42 mi (3.5-3.7 miles longer or 5-miles depending on exact path) Elevation Gain: Minimal (~249 ft) Round Trip: 2.34 hours Difficulty: Easy to Moderate Surface: Wide, hard-packed dirt fire road and historical path Scenery: Pine forests, open mountain views, and great gobs of wildflowers Wawona hotel: The national historic Wawona Hotel in Yosemite National Park comprises of six whitewashed Victorian buildings. We used to stop here for a drink and a snack break during our hikes. Unfortunately, this once beautiful historic location had been closed since December 2nd, 2024... for an indefinite period. Today, this place looked like a ghost town. We were shocked and sad to see what has become of the buildings here. Winds blowing the signs at every entrance. The neglect which may lead to demolition if left uncared for. Water damage caused them to replacement the roof on the main building but that didn't stop the on-going structural damages at this national historic Wawona Hotel in Yosemite National Park. It is truly sad to see that 'normal' citizens cannot enjoy the few remaining public areas. Where is our hard-earned money going to??

Went to Sierra Nat Forrest (SNF) office on Tollhouse Rd in Clovis,CA today. This was my 2nd time at…read morethis office with the same results. I was looking for offroad (OHR) information. The young gentleman manning the front desk was very courteous and tried his best to be helpful. Said he was new and lack of training is apparent. I was looking for any information on or about OHR. SNF had absolutely no brochures or maps. NOT any free information or FOR PURCHASE information. I can see why people that are trying to abide by laws and rules get in trouble. I must ask "When was the last time SNF ordered information for public"? I see it as a poorly run organization....

I also wish they posted time and days the water park would be on. They used to if you looked at the city website but I can't find it now. This park has a lot to offer, it has an inclosed area for dogs to play and a big field to play soccer or tag football. The play ground needs to be updated and better thought out. Yet, still nice to have for those hot summer days .

I love going to different parks to relax at when I need a break from home, and this was the perfect spot. I really hope Fresno/Clovis adds more parks, this is a small simple park just off the side of the road. It is open from 7am to 10pm. Great for small gatherings as well. There is a restroom on the left hand side nearby the water basin, home to many friendly geese and birds. They have a view spot with binoculars that could use either a cleaning or replacement lens? It also seems their info board has faded! This would otherwise be an awesome perk for the park. Nevertheless they do have signs on the fence about the basin. They look to be dog friendly by the doggy bags available, but there doesn't seem to be a fenced in area for them to play so keep them on a leash as they could easily run into the parking lot/road. There are shade trees along the grass and concrete areas to hang out under!
