I studied film-video in college. Thus, I did take a standard into to photography class. I learned…read morethe basics-not hard, not rocket science. Which brings me to Jason Collins. He had good ratings on Yelp and elsewhere locally & did homes for sale pics. His pics looked good. We started the process to get him on contract for the job. I started over a month in advance as I was going to be out of the country for 3 weeks during that time. His tracking of communication was lacking. He kept pushing back on the exact day I needed the shots done while going back and forth on e-mail while I was very busy out of country. I was right & he was wrong about it because I clearly remember what we agreed on because I had the higher vested interest whereas he had to track other jobs as well. So I just gave up and relented. I needed it done on a Friday so that I could list the house on that Saturday & had a housekeeper scheduled for Thursday to clean the whole house. I had to move that all up a day which cost me an extra day to get the house ready for the shots. He knew this yet passively complained about the fact that I was still moving furniture around that morning after the all day cleaning the day before. He took the shots & they were as expected-again-not rocket science and matched what one sees on other quality home listings. Then he sent me the link w/password to download the pics. Guess what? The file sizes were HUGE and thus unusable to upload to Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace-WTH? They were all at least 25-30 mbs. or more! So I had to contact him yet again after the job was done to get normal sized shots (1-2 mbs.) and did get them. Overall, in closing, during a time when I, as a certified Project Manager Professioal (PMP) was juggling an overseas trip and getting my house ready to show, well, dealing with his peccadillos was far from fun so buyer beware.

My husband and I are expecting our first child, a boy, and since we couldn't have a gender reveal…read moreparty or a baby shower we still wanted to do something memorable to remember these precious times of our pregnancy. So my great husband surprised me by taking me to Santa Barbara for the day and then the cherry on top was that he hired a photographer, Mike, for a private photo shoot by the beach. Mike was extremely professional. He showed up on time and suggested a few locations along the coast, one of which was the Butterfly Beach and it was the perfect spot. He had all of his gear with him, and got right down to business. He is such a visionary and we immediately knew he's a true pro because he would see a rock and would guide us in positioning ourselves in a way that the pose looks both nice and natural at the same time. Photo shoots can sometimes feel a bit forced and a drag but not with Mike. He was talking to us and sharing stories with us the whole time. It was both entertaining and made the whole experience a lot more relaxed and natural. And the cherry on top was that we got all of our photos back within days so the thrill of that experience was still fresh and we were so delighted once we saw the finished photos. He captures amazing and authentic moments. I highly highly recommend Mike to anyone that wants a photo shoot for literary anything. We already know that Mike will do our baby's photo shoot once he's born and all the other previous times in our lives we would like to be captured.

At the behest of the executive producer, MKC Photography was hired by the production to provide behind-the-scenes photography. First and foremost, the quality of images we received is second to none. Edited images were delivered in a timely manner. In fact, the photos were finished way before the music video! In regards to our specific collaboration, what really set Michael apart (i.e. what makes him beyond invaluable) was his kind and generous spirit. He was very patient with us, the production. Personally, I deeply appreciated that behavior. In this current landscape where just about anyone can pick up a camera and call themselves a photographer, MKC is a consummate professional. Oh and his replies are typically very fast, which I also appreciate! Our needs for his services were rather specific; this is true. However, I have seen his other work, namely event photography of say live concerts. It too, is just great. MKC Photography is really that damn good. FVE
