Anam-Cre Pottery has been my most visited non-food place in downtown SLO…read more I've done painting pottery here and the workers are so so nice. My partner and i tend to take awhile on painting ours and what they allow is to stay as long as you would like (as long as there is space) or if you still don't finish, you can come back a different day and continue painting! We recently took my partner's family here and everyone enjoyed it. Definitely will be back as they haven't finished theirs!

This is hands down, THE BEST daycare facility you will find for infants on the Central Coast. As we…read moresoon as we stepped in the door we felt as though it had been bespoke for our daughter. Everything is so well curated to provide an environment that children will absolutely thrive in. It has a natural and Montessori vibe that provides a safe space that they can independently explore and learn. Honestly, it's a space that I could personally hang out in for a while. As first time parents, we were very nervous about starting daycare, but Sophie has made the transition so smooth and easy for everyone. Sending us updates through out the day when morning drop offs were rough and it seems like there is always a new activity or toy ready for the babies first thing in the morning. In the short time that we've been with Downtown Baby, our daughters physical, social, and mental skills have absolutely exploded. We feel so happy that she is learning so much and able to interact with other children around her own age. We can not recommend Sophie & Downtown Baby high enough.

My review is for the walk through only as I have not yet decided if I am going to enroll my little one. My choice, if i do decide not to enroll, is only due to my own personal reasons and nothing to do with the facility. I did not know what to expect during my walk through because there was only two ratings for this daycare. I went to the location in Shell Beach. It is daycare out of a home just thought I'd point that out for those interested. The home is very clean inside, like not even a spec of dust from what I saw. The toys are very minimalistic, it's not cluttered, and its very organized. The facility also has two bedrooms for nap time if needed, one for smaller kids, and one for older kids. Both very clean. I could not see the backyard/outside area because it was too dark to see. Overall my walk through was uneventful but I did get the overall feel of the space and the person who would be watching my baby. We did meet at 5:30 as the other rating did mention, but i'm assuming it's because the hours of the daycare are 8AM-5PM and its probably a safety concern to have an unknown adult in the space with multiple children and one caregiver. I would also not want anyone i don't know or haven't met allowed in the space with my child if my child was enrolled there. The location I was at was the home space so, I can understand if that's the only time they offer because of this. There is obviously no isolated room to keep the children in while someone walked through other than a bedroom and that's a little weird to shove kids in there while trying to accommodate an adult. Anyways- based off my first visit i'd say that it's worth checking out if you're looking into childcare.

A complete disappointment from the very beginning less than 5 into the performance. Horrible, awful, uncomfortably long transitions, causing darkness in the whole house at one point for more than 35 seconds. I am embarrassed to say I know someone in the show. It will be a long time before I see the Ballet Theater San Luis Obispo. This performance was so poor, I have considered asking for a refund. Boo to the Director, Choreographer, Stage Manager for subjecting the players to such reticule. The theater SLO PAC was occupied less than 30%, perhaps was a warning sign. The performance was such a disaster we chose to leave at 1st intermission at 45 min mark.

I started dancing with BT-SLO as a middle schooler. I can honestly say now in my 30s looking back…read moreon my experience over the years, that there are few things more influential in my life than ballet and my time spent with this studio. While I never perused a professional career in ballet, Ms Terry taught me lessons of perseverance, hard work, commitment, and disciple that has carried into every aspect of my life. When I left for college in SF and I always loved returning for drop in classes during my school breaks. I've danced in studios in SF and NYC - I have yet to find teachers who are truly committed to your progress and providing professional level technique training for someone like me who just wants to dance without any intention of being professional. I recently moved back to SLO and returned to regular ballet classes and the studio as an adult. It's clear that Ms Terry's training from my youth still lives in my body and muscle memory (even if my body isn't what it used to be lol). Being able to dance and perform again (even despite the hurdles of Covid) has been a life saver to my mental and physical health. The people who dance here and support this small company (all different from when I was a kid) quickly became my community in and out of the studio. It has really helped me settle into SLO again. I'm forever grateful for this company, Ms Terry, and Blair for creating this space, gathering an amazing community, and giving me endless opportunities to follow my passions. I cannot recommend this studio and this company enough to anyone who is interested in ballet. It is a true gem that I've loved for over 18 years!

The DANDY LION MONTESSORI SCHOOL is located in Grover Beach, provides an authentic traditional…read moreimplementation of the Montessori Method of education, it provides 2 classrooms for children aged 2 1/2 to 6 years of age. The school is affiliated to the International Association of Progressive Montessori. The directing teachers in both classroom hold credentials from the IAPM Organization. The school follows the curriculum and professional code of ethics of IAPM. Therefore parents can rely on consistency in the quality of the program and how it's delivered. The Montessori approach to education provided at Dandy Lion Montessori School is centered on the uniqueness, individuality, and potential of each developing child. The purpose is to develop the whole child into a well-rounded human being. Children enter this world with a natural desire to learn and to perfect themselves. Montessori education fulfills this instinctive need by providing a "Prepared Environment" where children are allowed the excitement of learning by choice, rather than by force. In this environment, children develop the "inner discipline" that guides their self-development and the joy of learning.

Cindy will handle everything and even reply back from the directors email herself &/or just ignore you if there is something that they just decide to sweep under the rug, Every other Director and site supervisors at many other locations have been extremely helpful. You would only hope that as a full paying customer, Dandy Lion would care enough to talk to you and help support your child during their young years. Sadly, this was not the case because we were told that they are a private school and can do whatever they want. This was very troubling to hear from both Cindy and the Montessori Director. I would do my research in advance before enrolling a child here. This is the only school that locks their gate and does not give you immediate access or the code to the school. Every other preschool gives the parents full access to the campus. That should be enough of a red flag in itself. Extremely unprofessional business.
