I live in NY so I have a U.S. bank and wasn't able to pay the $20 deposit because I don't have e-Transfer, but I emailed the salon and they said it was no problem and not to worry about it. I was able to use my Visa credit card (they also take Mastercard) to pay. If you do pay the deposit, $20 is deducted from your total. The hair washing station is really relaxing, with lie-flat chairs so your neck doesn't hurt and sparkling lights on the ceiling. I'm so happy with my cut ($80 CAD before tip) and I think I got a great value for the level of service. I highly recommend Sam and this salon, his technique was so meticulous and I love my cut.

Our appointment was for 11 am but at 1030, Amanda text us that Bella was stuck on a GO Bus and wouldn't be able to start until 1130. Normally that's not a big issue, but I was dealing with really tight timelines because of nap times and attention spans, so I couldn't just burn 30 more minutes than expected. I explained this to Amanda, and she said if I could get there soon, she would cut my daughter's hair. The salon opens at 11, but Amanda started with us at 1045. The level of customer service was unreal. Friendly, accommodating, apologetic and I got what I came there for - a sophisticated haircut for my daughter that wasn't just a "who cares you're a kid" cut. The salon is beautiful inside, the sparkling lights about the hair washing station was a nice touch. At the very end, Bella did show up and she seemed nice as well, but Amanda really came through for us. We will be back!!

Fabulous! I just came from having a wonderful cut & style with Jenna and I love it. I just wish I…read morehad plans tonight to show off the results. It's always hard to find a good hairdresser - you run the risk of something atrocious you've got to carry until you can find someone to repair it, or it grows out. Not a risk here. Can't speak to the rest of their services, but this was wonderful. Prices were decent, too - $56 for a wash, cut & dry.

I'm a wash-and-go kind of girl, and want my hair cuts to still look put together with minimal effort. If I picked a hair cut that wasn't attainable without styling, Joey would let me know, or explain how he modifies the style to better suit my wash-and-go efforts. Joey also takes the time to layer and cut my hair properly so that I return within a reasonable time-frame (usually 10 - 12 weeks) and my hair still holds it style, as opposed to other salons where some stylists only cut the top layers and the cut has grown out in a mere 6-8 weeks (yikes). Joey also did my hair for my wedding. We did a different style from my trial, but I loved it. A messy side bun that was both smooth with voluminous at the crown. The hair-do held up day to night, and IMHO looked effortless. I always recommend Joey to my friends and family, and so far, my sisters and cousins love his cuts!

First month in Toronto the hair is getting rather messy and uncontrollable so I decide to go get…read moresome food and my hair cut in the process. Now I am not a complete sissy when I get my hair cut but there is a big difference between getting it cut at a barber (uses clippers) and getting it cut at a hairdresser (uses scissors) so this place caught my attention when going past. Its not one of these modern fancy salons which would charge $50 to get your nose hairs plucked but a down to earth, homely salon. The lady Betty was absolutely lovely to chat to, she asked me how I wanted my hair cut and after being seated she continue to work her magic all the while keeping conversation interesting. She has had the place for 10 years so all her love and passion has gone into the salon along with the way she cuts hair which is with careful precision and care. One thing I always say to any hairdresser is "i want my hair cut but I dont want it to look like its just been cut" and she managed to do this with scissors and only small use of the clippers (sides) . Considering that I have 2 salons in yorkdale mall to choose from and another within a minutes walk I would still travel the extra miles to go back to Hair 2 Desire. My hair cut cost £14 which was very reasonable considering the more flash places try and charge $30-40 for the same haircut. Would definitely recommend this place and thanks to Betty for my first haircut in Canada

disorganized salon, Visnja, the owner gives unsolicited advice, and criticized my hair style while…read morestill denying me service. I am sharing my experience to ensure that there is accountability for the poor service I received and because I feel there were ongoing issues with clarity and consistency in communication throughout the booking and consultation process. Before my consultation, I contacted the salon to confirm whether they could accommodate my hair type and whether ongoing appointments, including Saturdays, would be available. I was told that this would be possible, and I was also referred to a stylist. Based on this information, I proceeded to book and attend an in-person consultation. At the consultation, I attended in good faith, having planned my schedule and travel around what had been communicated to me. During the appointment, I was asked additional questions about my hair history and products. the owner indeed ordered me to carry out specific tasks including contacting my previous hair stylist in Nova Scotia to ask her about the hair dye, sending her photos of my products. I took the time to follow up after the consultation with the information requested, as I wanted to ensure I was being thorough and cooperative with what the salon needed. During the consultation itself, Visjna chaged her mind and said we cannot take you on Saturdays despite having already greed to do so prior to my consultation. So there was discussion about possible alternative appointment times, and I was given the impression that arrangements could be worked out if I was flexible with scheduling. I responded by being flexible and open to different days in order to make the booking work, even though this required me to adjust my original expectations. I accepted Wednesday, her suggestion However, after all of this, I was later informed that the salon would not be taking me on as a client. This decision came after I had already attended the consultation, provided additional requested information, and adjusted my availability based on what had been discussed. This made the overall experience feel inconsistent, as the information I was given initially and during the consultation did not align with the final outcome. My main concern is not that a salon may decide not to take on a client, as I understand that capacity and suitability can be factors in any business. My concern is that the communication leading up to that decision was not clear or consistent, which resulted in me investing time, travel, and effort based on expectations that later changed. After I shared my experience, I received a response from the salon suggesting that my review that my review was harming their reputation and questioning my intent in leaving feedback publicly. I found this framing concerning, as my review was intended to describe my experience factually with the communication process, not to attack the salon or its staff personally. I believe clients should be able to share feedback about inconsistency in communication and expectations without that feedback being interpreted as an attempt to harm a business. Overall, the salon lacks professionalism, respect for clients time, and poor and disrespectful attitude towards clients hair types ands tyles.
