We really appreciated the two arm, chairs and table in front of the big picture window looking out at the slough, with binoculars right on the table, and the electric fireplace to make it cozy and warm. We enjoyed watching the birds and the sunset with an aperitif in our room before going out for dinner. And the shared kitchen in the main lodge was similarly very well appointed, with an electric kettle so I could make coffee in my aero press in the morning. Would definitely stay again if I wanted to stay in Moss Landing. I found the touchless hosting off-putting because it felt very corporate, but everything worked smoothly once we arrived.

We stayed in the newer section in the High Seas room on the second floor in April. Fantastic view…read more I chose this room because the bed was lower than the other rooms. You didn't need a step stool to get into the bed and we are older. That being said, I still managed to trip on the steps to the tub when I got out of bed during the night to check a text as I had to charge my phone and iPad using an outlet by the tub. Bruised knees. Could have been worse. The outlet by my side of the bed was unusable. Every plug fell out of it. The other side of bed has a desk and a charging port but we had more devices than ports. We didn't use the tub as it would be dangerous getting in and out for folks our age. I washed my hair in the sink. There is no free standing shower except for the hand held shower head in the tub. The bed was quite comfortable. Bathroom small but functional. Toilet quite low and no grab bar. There was a closet but just one wire hanger. Enjoyed sitting by window and using provided binoculars to watch wildlife. We drove a few miles to Castroville to get breakfast items for our two mornings there. They just provide Svenhard's packaged sweet rolls and there weren't enough of them. For the premium price of these rooms, it would have been nice to have more of a continental breakfast, fruit, yogurt, granola, better sweet rolls. There is no on site manager. Coffee and tea in room which was nice. We could walk to the Elkhorn Slough tours. (Tip: Try to sit on left side of boat.) I brought a nightlight which was helpful. Walking trails within walking distance. Very nice fireplace. Would stay here again but would come better prepared. In summary, convenient location to the slough and views are what this inn offers.

Very spacious, easy to have 5+ adults simultaneously preparing dinner for 10 and then eating together. Since yelpers love details and are all about full disclosure.... I will say the only VERY small downsides are : 1) the upstairs and downstairs do not link from the inside making it a bit awkward to intermingle easily in either space (or wrangle up supplies!) without going outside first (but I suppose that's for renting out of both spaces to separate parties simultaneously?) 2) the driveway is a tiny bit difficult to discern given the placement of the mailbox but the pictures would really have helped me find it (lucky for me I recognized a friend's car!) 3) truly, there are nice views but I didn't see any super-close walkable path down to the beach which I assumed a "beach cabin" would have, but it seems like it would be a super quick drive, so there is definitely proximity! Overall, lovely accommodations for a large group :) I found two sites for reservations/reviews... http://www.vrbo.com/126590 http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p187551

Our kids, who range in age from 10-1 enjoyed exploring the property, the walk to the beach, and the ground squirrels.. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, and serving trays. It was very inviting and I have nothing negative to say about this home at all. We all had a fantastic time

Unfortunately for us, Post Ranch Inn was one of our first stops on an eight-day coastal road trip…read more Unfortunate because they set a standard no other property or restaurant was going to match. I knew that going in. It was still starker than I expected. Start with the property. When that is the view off your deck, why go anywhere else? Stunning doesn't cover it. We hiked much of the grounds and every turn delivered something new. The kind of place that makes you slow down without even trying. Then the restaurant. Everything was perfect -- service, quality, execution. Much of the food sourced on property or from the surrounding community. My wife declared the salad the best she'd ever had. High praise for a salad. High praise, full stop. Special shout out to our server Yasmany and bartender Thomas -- both exceptional. What struck me most was how effortless the entire staff made it look. These are people who deal with guests from around the world, all arriving with high expectations of a high-end experience. And yet nothing felt forced. Nobody appeared to be trying to impress us. It was just perfect service, perfectly delivered. That's the rarest thing in hospitality. Highlight of the trip. Hands down. And I suspect, never to be repeated.

This is an incredible place. Can you tell I like it? Wine Spectator top Award, with prices to match but frankly , who cares? You're not going there to pinch pennies. Enjoy yourselves and experience everything about the property. We had lunch today with friends celebrating a birthday. If there is a better place on California's coast I don't know where it is-- started with some Chardonnay to get things going. A lovely Roar '21 Rosalia. Devine. We were offered two menu options-one a pre-fixe for $85. App, main, dessert. A really excellent choice given the choices of fresh seafood or meat options and beautiful salad options. Additionally they offered à la carte with similar options but just different enough to entice. Several folks opted for a CA salad and then had the fish of the day put on top --I went for a special burger with a home made brioche bun , amazing fries and a Caesar salad. Haven't had a burger like that in ages. I have menu pics and interior exterior pics displaying options. Easier than me playing Stanley Tucci... I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful and professional the service is at Sierra Mar. Apologies to our server ( lovely young lady with long dark hair and a smile that says, "what can I do for you?" Whose name we did not get---she and the gentleman who helped with the wine were outstanding.

Let me shape your note so it flows beautifully but still feels personal and honest: Arriving at The Pinnacle Inn late in the evening was a bit of an adventure for us. We reached the gate around 8pm in complete darkness, with no network service and no easy way to get in. The winding dirt road lined with grapevines felt a little intimidating in the dark, and I have to admit, we were feeling a bit unsure at first. But once we sorted out the gate and settled in, everything changed. The next morning, we headed out for a hike in the forest, and with the sunrise lighting up the hills, we finally saw just how incredibly beautiful this location truly is. What felt a little scary the night before transformed into rolling countryside, peaceful vineyards, and breathtaking views. When we returned from our hike, I began to fully appreciate and fall in love with the entire property. In the daylight, The Pinnacle Inn feels warm, welcoming, and truly like home. Thank you for creating such a special place. What started as uncertainty turned into a stay we'll always remember.
