A very pleasant hotel in the heart of northern Düsseldorf inside an older home. Interior appointments are consequently somewhat dated but still in good shape. In typical German tradition for a property like this there is no air conditioning but ample Windows, a ceiling fan and portable fan in the room to keep airflow active. A typical evening in this part of the country in the summer is not typically so warm that you'll notice.
The breakfast in the basement was surprisingly a very good selection with many options not typically seen elsewhere. The fact I spent five minutes deciding which honey to use with my bread may be an indicator of how pleasantly eclectic it was. And I haven't had rhubarb juice in more than 20 years!
There's also a bar in the basement but it did not seem to be operating when I was present. There's a very nice garden out back and you can easily order a few bottled drinks from the front desk to relax back there with colleagues. Just be forewarned that German mosquitoes are as friendly and willing to get to know you as the locals! read more
