Three nights here and it was more than pleasant.
Located in a mostly residential neighborhood of Düsseldorf (rather than a strictly commercial one for business travelers), this hotel has a more "European" feel, rather than "American." That's okay. You just have to understand the differences.
The bed was quite comfortable and with a room at the end of the hallway on the first floor (Americans would call this the second floor) and it was awesome to have a balcony (though not private) for my morning coffee.
The desk was small but sufficient with power outlets. I wouldn't want to sit there for more than an hour. Wifi is unlimited and worked well.
Bathroom was very nice though I really don't understand the European thing of the "half wall" for the shower. It's not just the water going onto the floor, it's also the air in the shower being cold. Not great! However, the water did get plenty hot and the heated tile floor was awesome.
I did not use the hotel's breakfast so no thoughts there. When I checked in, I was told "We're only doing housekeeping upon request" and yet they did my room my first day. I left the DND on the door the second night and was not disturbed.
There are plenty of restaurants https://www.yelp.com/user_details_reviews_self?userid=hWDybu_KvYLSdEFzGrniTw&location_filter_state=NW&location_filter_city=D%C3%BCsseldorf&review_filter=location&review_filter=category&category_filter=restaurants within walking distance. The Victoriaplatz U-Bahn station is close and the tram line is closer.
I will absolutely choose this hotel when I return to Düsseldorf.
