We waited 20 minutes for any waiter to come and ask us about what drinks or food we wanted. In fact we had to call a waiter over otherwise we would have been sitting there all night. This was really bad as the restaurant was completely empty at the time. The waiter that served us was lackadaisical at best and most certainly not friendly or inviting. Throughout the meal waiters stood like statues next to our table or on occasion a group congregated and started to talk - the worst service I have had during my time in Italy. They even manged to mess up our order by not bringing one of the meals we had ordered and by the time it arrived the rest of the table were well into their own meals. No apology was offered or discount given for the mistake. The food was average. We ordered bruschetta for 3 the bread and tomatoes I enjoyed however the whole dish was drowning in oil. In fact I was worried that my bruschetta was going to swim away there was so much oil. The oil went everywhere and wasted what was a tasty dish, I'm inclined to send them the dry cleaning bill after that starter. The mains came (well most of them) and at first looked nice. The chicken dish was tasty, the gnocchi was average, the pizza was covered in oil and the mussel pasta dish I had was less than average. The dish I had came with an impenetrable pizza base which the pasta was contained in. They left the mussels in the shells in the dish which is fine however no bowl was provided to put the shells into so I ended up having to put them on the table so I could eat the rest of the dish. I won't be back here again the food is average and the waiter was inattentive. I do not recommend this restaurant.

We ordered a couple of starters to share which mainly consisted of fried foods such as dough balls. The starters were good although I found them to be rather filling. We ordered 3 Pizzas and a Calzone they arrived pretty quickly and were what you would expect to find in a typical Italian restaurant. My Calzone was filled with ham, mushroom, cottage cheese and mozzarella, I enjoyed it however the portion size was massive and this meant I could not finish my meal. This was the general consensus with no one finishing their meal, we also found it to be very filling. This place is certainly value for money. You get a lot of food for your money - in fact too much food. The set up of the restaurant I thought was choice. There was a large window into the kitchen to show how your food was being prepared, the kitchen seemed very clean and not at all messy. At the front of the restaurant there is a large pizza oven where you can see your pizza and alike being made. A nice touch was that the pizza chef came to deliver your pizza fresh from the oven however I can see how this would be unpractical when the restaurant is busier. One of the things that I did not like was the fact that whilst we were eating the serving staff were talking next to our table throughout nearly the whole meal. This made me feel slightly uncomfortable throughout my meal. The initial plates we were given were all chipped. In fact I almost confused it for a pattern on the plates - definitely need some new plates. You get what you pay for and this is certainly true about Serafina. The quality of the food was good however it did not blow me away. Value for money - yes but extraordinary food - no. I would recommend this place to a friend but not sure I will be back as there are so many other places to eat nearby.
