Villa Marstall is a nicely renovated boutique hotel Small, unique feel. Our room and bathroom were super clean. The bed was extremely comfy and romantic, complete with sheer bed curtains. The room had a fantastic view of the river but we like having the windows open and the traffic noise during the day was very loud. No napping allowed! With the windows closed the noise was bearable but enough of a distraction that made falling asleep a challenge. With closed windows, there was no air circulation in the room. We would stay there again but would request a room on the opposite side of the house from the river. Another oddly is that this hotel does not have any type of a lobby or gathering room at all. Not even a chair. We found that strange especially in a bed and breakfast type of lodging. Breakfast was not included in the room rate. Food wasn't all that for 12 euros each other than the fact that it's downstairs and you don't have to leave the hotel. The breakfast area was pretty cool- all old brick archways but you don't get to hang out there at night or anything. There are plenty of other places for breakfast within a five minute walk. The hotel is in a perfect location, you can walk everywhere, including the castle. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We would recommend it if you just want a very nice place to sleep without any bar area or a place to sit while waiting for your taxi or to check in/out or socializing with other guests. Really about a 3 1/2 star hotel but it gets 4 for location and cleanliness. read more
