The couple that owns this vineyard is super sweet and the staff is really excellent. Everything, and I mean everything, was fantastic. We stayed one night but I wish it was more. The "light" dinner they prepared was one of the best meals on our recent trip, all was fresh, well prepared and the wine tasting to go with it was also very good. The room was a little slice of heaven and very quite at night which was a welcome change from the city. The views were stunning, I walked the vineyard early in the morning and loved it. The young owners are extremely helpful and welcoming. They gave us great tips on local aperitivo bars. All rooms have private bathroom, tv and minibar. Breakfast is huge and delicious. The room was airy and spacious tastfully decorated, clean and complete with tv, mini bar and lovely en suite. Location is wonderful, only 2 mins walk to the Guinigi Tower and less to the main shopping street. Despite its central location the hotel was quiet and relaxing. Now on to the best bit, if you like eggs you will love this place. How do you like them? Just say and they will do them for you, alongside breakfast buffet of cereal, breads, meats, fresh fruit and the best coffee in Lucca. We are going back asap and hope to many times over. Go on give yourself a treat and book NOW.

We arrived in Italy in a heat wave and spent a delightful week in a house in Val D'Orcia before…read morearriving to stay in two yurts at La Prugnola. We slightly dreaded the transition to camping, and felt we'd done things in the wrong order. We couldn't have been more wrong. The yurts have been recently shipped from Mongolia and are painted like gypsy caravans. Ours had 90 wooden spokes and was truly beautiful, especially at night. It had the most comfortable of beds, a day bed/sofa, and good hanging and cupboard space. Each yurt has its very own clean and well appointed bathroom, and you can hire a small fridge. The yurts are situated high above sea level and catch the breeze coming off the sea. In the evening they cool quicker than the buildings. There is a wonderful view of the sunset from the communal cooking area. Overall we found he yurts to be MORE luxurious than the house had been. And best of all were the breakfasts provided by La Prugnola - delicious fruit, salami and cold meats, heavenly bruschetta made by Sylvia, and coffee on tap. Marina and her sister couldn't not have been more helpful, and told us about places to swim, eat and visit. While here we visited Florence by train (only advisable if you set off early unlike us!) and Elba by boat and had many memorable swims. Too much to do in one week. We shall be back! Can't recommend highly enough.

The owner,…read moreElena, is warm and welcoming offering many great suggestions, booking reservations for us and offering a delightful evening making a homemade dinner in her kitchen cooking class--the wine flowed and we had so much wonderful food and had a chance to meet other visiting guests who were equally enchanted being here. The grounds and amenities are lovely--Elena found this estate more than 18 years ago in terrible shape but used her fashion design background wisely! We cannot recommend this place enough, everyone is raving about how lucky we are to be here.
