I have stayed here for several years and used to never had a problem. The last few years have gone so far downhill. I have been stuck in an elevator, and the management has cancelled the pest control service. I have seen an influx of bugs (house roaches) Needless to say this will be my last time visiting and I will not be returning. In building 3 the elevator is out for the next 4+ months. We were not told this at booking and not at check in either. Mind you I am permanently disabled and cannot make it up 3 flights of stairs without a ton of difficulty. I used to love this place; I am sad to see my vacation spot go so far downhill after years and years of staying that I feel the need to no longer return. Hopefully they will climb back up, But it doesn't seem they will. Beware renting and ask all the questions to make sure everything is working. Grills are falling apart and not useable. read more

We hardly had any outlets in our room, and it didn't help that one of the outlets was busted and wouldn't work. We noticed a dirty towel, obviously used from a prior visit, that also had brown stains on it. We threw it out. We also heard very loud banging coming from down the hall at around ~8pm. Elevators constantly need maintenance. Fire alarm in our room wasn't working. Overall big disappointment. Would have definitely booked differently. DoubleTree Hilton Inn would've been the way to go. Folks, stay away from this one. read more

This place should be condemned! The elevators don't work. The fire alarm does not work The veranda is rotten and falling through. The driveway is almost impossible unless you have a truck. Major rust on structural beams The gate doesn't work. The beach is fenced off The units closest to the beach are boarded up. I stayed here in the early 1980's and it was impressive. In the years since, time and storms have taken their toll. read more

this place needs a serious renovation i was on the 3rd floor staying at a air bnb and the concrete floor outside of our door was caving in god forbid a big person jumped on it. you could literally barely step on it and it would flex with your foot. elevators seemed a little janky and honestly not safe but the air bnb itself wasn't bad it was more so the actual place. read more

Stayed in Condo #1300 - what a disappointment. The entire complex is totally neglected and dated. Considering the stay averaged out just over $350 per night, the furniture were cheap and uncomfortable, balcony chairs not nice to sit in, communication with owner was anything but straight-forward. We booked Monday - Friday and left Tuesday (no, the bad weather is NOT the owner's fault, but we did not want to be stuck in this condo for 4 rained-out beach days. This was a trip for my 60th birthday. Also, the gate to the beach near the condo was not functioning. Walking to the next gate across very questionably and rotting decking was not fun. The outdoor shower at the functioning gate did not have a working foot shower to wash off sand. read more

I rented a condo here in 2018 and loved it so much that i ended up buying one. Yes the building is older and needs some work but I see progress being done. The place is much better now and continues to improve. I travel alone most of the time and I've always felt safe in this gated community. Would definitely recommend for any small family or individuals for short term stays. read more

Condo 1318 DISGUSTING UPON ARRIVAL AND KEPT GETTING WORSE!!! Dirty floors, roach-infested, broken furniture, stained couch and ottoman, sticky tv remotes, paint on bunk bed sheets, bedroom bed sheets did not stay on bed and had to be remade multiple times during the night for our two-night stay, balcony door would not close all the way, broken trim on front door so chain lock was a joke, not safe feeling at all. WORST PLACE I'VE EVER STAYED. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!! read more

Inexpensive. Decent location. Within walking distance to Texas state aquarium. Pier 99 restaurant. & USS Lexington museum.

We stayed here at a AirBnB. The condo was cute and clean with an ocean view. The worst thing about the condo was the smell of mold or mildew, gross. The complex itself needs lots of work, everything from the paint to the staircase needs a fresh coat of paint. Pictures don't lie. The pavement also needs to be resurfaced. The plus about this place is the location, as it is near major attractions and downtown. The place was not worth what we paid for. I would not recommend it to others unless they fix the place up. I have to agree with G W. who stayed there a week before us. read more

Hello , We stayed in room #3341 for a weekend getaway. Checking in was easy at the front desk and a small fee for security access they have two pools and access to the beach & this weekend one pool was down and not available. We are on the 3rd floor and the elevator was out of order. Apartment we stayed in didn't feel safe has you were walking past the room and restroom there is a small dip in the floor that makes you feel like your going too fall through & another one in the bathroom right in front of the toilet and shower. read more

We got an Airbnb at this condo. I told the lady what the number of the condo was and she told me to go to the last building on the first floor. I did and I found the condo, but the code didn't work. I called and she gave me the code, when we opened the door there were a bunch of baggage already in the room, so we closed the door and called again. This time a guy picked up and I was explaining to him the situation and he cut me off before I could finish. When we FINALLY found our room, it ended up being in the FIRST BUILDING and the LAST FLOOR! The place is worn down and the condo we stayed in had a hole in the wall. On the bright side though the location is great. You can see the USS Lexington from the balcony and the Aquarium is also really close by. And it's beach front. But I will definitely NOT be staying here again. read more

Beach is not kept up in this area but you have access from this condo. You are in a lower end area of CC so be mindful. Rented our condo through the VRBO site and had a descent room. Came across an owner cleaning there's, and they seem to have a big problem -you can zoom for the number for caution. We were away and had no problems or complaints. Our last night of vacation the police were at the pool area when we arrived back from dinner. Two pools-the second pool was finally cleaned and open our last two days of our stay and nice. We were in building 3. For the price and location, quick get away and availability-recommend. read more

We rented unit 1215. Very small and outdated but clean. The best thing about this place is location. Easy walk to everything and you are right on the beach. Clean beach for the most part. Nice pools although need water fountain or something to cool the water off. They have coffee in the office but charge $1.50... that's not very cool. Lol read more

Truly lovely condo. Easy check-in & fast response from Diana anytime I reached out. We were in walking distance of shops, food & entertainment. We also had private beach access & a walking trail up to the activities down the bay. There is construction going on, but we never heard a thing. I did get a screw in one of my brand new tires, but was able to get it repaired fairly quick & easy at a nearby discount tire. The repair was FREE, fast & took nothing away from our day. The only real negative thing is the broken elevator as the room is on the 3rd floor. My mom is older and not a fan of the stairs at all. However; the establishment has security guards on premises & one came up to us without us even asking and offered to help carry our luggage up to the room! It is true what's been said about the balcony of this place. The melody of the waves in the evening is peaceful, the views at all times of day & in all directions are gorgeous & calming! Take a sunset stroll down to Black Beards for a dozen raw oysters or 2! Best I have EVER had :) Overall great condo, great host & location! read more

Don't stay here unless you wanted to hear hammering and power saws down your hall till 8:30 pm.

Had aweful experienced on the property not very well kept and properly maintenance..nails on the ground of parking lot ..elevator dirty and hallway walking to our door of our room was musty and smell like mildew. The exit gate slashed and punctured our front tire and gave us a flat that had to be completely replace..immediately notify the front office and property manager Andrea Hernandez all they had me do was filed a incident report without any empathy and no reimbursement for my damaged tire..bad ending to a family vacation ..wasted 5hrs of our time and money to get it fix. Think twice before booking this place if anything happens on their property the upper management be quick to brush you off and act like they don't care not worth the money or inconvenience read more

Great time at Villa Del Sol!!! We stayed in room 1125 with Ms Elaine as our contact and although the room was very basic, it was clean and the air conditioner was really cold. I've been going to Villa Del Sol for years and the place never lets me down. Some years have been better than others but nothing beats the location and the convenience of being right on the beach. I will most definitely be coming back next year and using Ms Elaine!!! We had a great time and the best part was my kids enjoyed every part!!!! read more

This place is a dump. Honestly. When I got off the elevator I felt the floor move. It was definitely way angled. Crazy. Rust everywhere. Tetanus shot required for sure. This is honestly three worst place I ever stayed. 21 years in the army I stayed a lot of bad places. When I first came to my room or felt like i was going to die. Seemed like the building was falling apart. On top of all the bad stuff about the place. I walked down the stairs and was stopped by a raccoon. He wasn't moving he told me so. He hissed at me and I think he cursed a couple of times. Something about cookies. Do not stay here. Look at the pictures. The elevator worked going up but not down. Zero stars actually read more

IF YOU MAKE A COMMENT PLEASE GIVE A NAME AND THE CONDO NUMBER. Every unit here is individually owned . I have owned one of the condos for 30 years now. I have even been on the board. I advertise on VRBO and Trip Advisor. I am transparent on those websites that the complex is under very slow repair due to new management. I show pictures of the complex at its worst 10 years ago or so. I have 4 and 5 star reviews (5 for the condo and 4 because of the complex). This is one review I saw on trip advisor an exact quote: "pay half now pay half a week later so you pay $700 now and once you move in and realize how dirty it is its to late to move out. So you're either out $700 for a week stay or you ride it out and pay the other $700. During our stay our bed SHEETS WERE DIRTY when we arrived, there wasn't a broom, mop, a sink plug to do dishes, THE COUCHES WERE RIPPED. There was MOLD in the bathroom" Rent on a reputable web site and read reviews . read more

the place was great!! great location. beach is located behind the villa. View of USS Lexington and the place is gated. quiet at night. love the balcony!!! One thing I didn't like was whoever owns the condo that we stayed at REALLY REALLY need to change the mattress. Backache throughout the time we stayed. Constantly popping tylenol in the morning. Villa Del Sol - This is what 400 bucks gets you, a dirty condo - Hotels Near Me - Corpus Christi, Texas

Don't hesitate to choose Villa Del Sol as your vacation home away from home. There are many owners to stay with that you contact directly or I'm sure you can book through the office. Our owner was Elaine Roser and I recommend her condos as she does a nice job keeping them up and she actually lives on property in case you have an issue, which we did not. The actual condo is perfect for my family of 5 and is laid out like most vacation condos with the bunk beds in the hall. The balconies are nice, the a/c is cold, pool and hot tubs (though I actually did not make it around to using them). The big thing for me here, after vacationing before in Galveston, is that on North Beach Corpus you are right on the beach. No street, no seawall, just a private gate and then sand. All in all we loved Corpus and we loved Villa Del Sol. We will be back and we will probably book with the same owner. read more

DISGUSTING!!! Do not stay in room 1300. There's cockroach in the kitchen,we stayed there for 3 nights and we are not satistied with our stay, room is old,the water in the toilet sink's pressure is to slow the bathtub is dirty their bed is not comfortable. So we brought this up the owner told her that her condo has a lot of roaches specially at night time, but she just gave us attitude, she even told us that she doesn't care if we put a bad review we had to buy a cockroach traps and leave it there. We had to disinfect the kitchen and the counter just to make sure we're not touching dirty stuff, they're crawling everywhere in the kitchen even in the coffee maker or utensils. If we should've known that this room is nasty we never stayed here.Overall stay NOT SATISFIED read more

This was a great place to stay! Right on the beach and easy access to their swimming pools. We had 2 kids, a baby, and 4 adults and the little condo we stayed in was perfect. This place may have given me scabies. Watch out. I stayed here july 6 - 10. As of yesterday july 26 i have scabies. Not sure if this was the cause, but i did notice an itchy bump around my waistline around that time. I thought it was a spider bite. Turns out that may have been the first scabies mite. Our room was pretty clean, aside from the occasional but strong cigarette and weed smell coming from a nearby room. But the rest of the place was hella ghetto to say the least. Me and my friends joked around calling the pool they had a "cess pool". Turns out our joke was probably true. Pool was constantly green and looked downright dirty. We did go into the pool on the other side of the property which seemed cleaner. Me and my boyfriend went into the workout room where half the machines were broken. There's a number of places I could have gotten it. Why my friends didnt get it im not sure but if someone told me I got it from here I wouldnt be surprised. read more

I think it really depends on who rent from. We found ours on Airbnb and we just loved it. Overlooking the water and we could walk down to the beach. It's a great place to stay if you love being woken up in the middle of the night to fire alarms. This happened 2 of the 4 nights we stayed there. Pool needed upkeep badly. read more

First location was awesome!! Had family event downtown Corpus check in was not good! Room I was given on my reservation was being renovated so they placed us in room 1131 I hope that room gets some attention! Bed and living room furniture needs to be tossed and replaced. We came home with backs hurting! Light and lamp in bedroom didn't work! Balcony door doesn't lock and not enough plugs. I would change balcony chairs they are very dirty. If things get changed I wouldn't mind staying again! read more

Surprised looking at the reviews. We loved the place! Not the Ritz but clean and beautiful... and there were dogs staying there when we were there. That depends on the individual owner of the condos? Right on the beach, gated area, pools, restaurants within walking... and some review complained it was a bay? Corpus Christi is on a bay. Did you not look where you were going? I think I'm going to quit reading Yelp reviews. Need to look for a better revote source. read more

This entire building is a dump. The location is great for getting around. when I arrived I was very scared to stay here. The ceiling are falling out everywhere, and it stinks really bad. I did say omg where am I as I was traveling to my condo. I got into condo 2211 and it was so different than what the place has to offer. Very clean nicely decorated and a great view. I was very shocked how clean it was. If the place would put a lot of money into the building would not be so scary. We spent 4 night here for our 6 yr anniversary just for a getaway. I don't think that I would ever stay here again unless they do some work. Looks like the floors where going to fall out and the ceilings where right there with it. VERY getto. read more

Place is awful. In the description they tell 6 adults can stay comfortably. They charged way higher than motels around. When we entered the condo we were shocked. Only one bed. What!!! yeah one bed. This place is ok for one couple and two children, not for 6 adults. Coffee machine was there but no coffee to make. They didn't change towel for second day stay. In the morning some maintenance guy knocked and told us that we need to get out as they need to do some maintenance in balcony. Are you serious? This place is mine for 2 days. Got 3-4 calls from manager until we went outside. I would not recommend this place. Stay away!!! read more

The place itself is to expensive for the quality you get, and it has weird rules, like they have to come in and inspect the unit you are staying in every month. Try and stay away from landlord Peggy Heuston, extremely difficult landlord, she loves to come in the unit while you are not there. I like this place because of its proximity to the USS Lexington. My paranormal friends investigate it annually and this place is super convenient. The condos are kind of small but the 1-bedroom units accommodate 4 people with the sofa bed. The one we rented was clean and cute and had a fully stocked kitchen. We like to cook for ourselves if we can so that was a nice plus. The balcony out onto the beach was amazing! The outside could use some updating but otherwise its ok. read more

This was easily one of the worst places that I have ever stayed. We rented through Chris Holt through airbnb. For some reason I can't write a review on airbnb. Probably because we canceled our reservation and left within 24 hours. The towels were yellow, stained and discolored. The lockbox that the key was in was broken and our host provided the incorrect code so we were locked out until I was able to reach him to get the other code. We paid over $100/night and it was a total ripoff. It's an extremely dirty and noisy area filled. There's no security and it is in an area that definitely needs it. It's not in on the beach, it's on the bay. You're better off going to port Aransas or rockport. We didn't feel comfortable walking anywhere after dark. We also heard scratching in the walls when we were trying to sleep. Clearly there were rodents. Also, the box spring of the bed had a huge hole in it as if an animal had ripped into it. It was just awful. We still haven't been refunded because apparently these issues weren't "severe" enough to warrant a refund. read more

Condo #3144 Absolutely loved our stay! The condo is just as pictured. Despite the fact that complex it self is not the best looking one, room #3144 is clean and kept up with. You can tell there has been some remodeling and updating to the room and it looks nice. The fully equipped kitchen came in very handy, from the pots and pans to the salt and pepper. Clean sheets and towels. Descent sized tv in living room, and a small tv mounted in bedroom. Bed was comfortable, the sofa bed, well, not so much. We ended up just using the sofa cushions. It's on the corner of the complex so its not loud. Loved the view from the patio! Right by the stairway. Easy pool access, although the pool wasn't the cleanest, but that didn't really matter since we had the beach right in front of us. On 4th of July there was a firework show at the USS Lexington and we had a perfect view of it! We took our beach chairs, had a dinner picnic, made some s'mores and enjoyed the show! Plenty of attractions and dinning options close to the complex, some even at walking distance. Overall it was a great experience and we all enjoyed our trip. The staff at the office was very nice and helpful, they recommended some of their best attractions in town. The owner, Mr. Saludo, was very tentative to all our questions and needs, he even emailed us a list of activities that were going to be happening through out the holiday weekend, which was very helpful, we greatly appreciated it! I definitely recommend it. p.s. Each condo has different owners and it is up to them to keep up with the condos. read more
