As is common in small-town ski resorts in Austria, English is not widely-used or spoken. Thankfully, the servers knew English and was happy to help us with the menu. The place is not big and the patrons learn to maximize the space and be elbow-to-elbow with the people on the next table. They have outside seating, but beware ~ that's where the smokers eat, so not sure if that's going to be as enjoyable for the non-smokers. The first time we went, I ordered a simple ham and eggs, plus one of their freshly-baked breads. The bread was fresh off the oven and the ham and eggs were prepared perfectly. The ham kinda looked like bacon, so not sure if it's a cultural thing, or something lost in translation. Either way, I was very pleased with my order. Bonus: cappuccino is also cappuccino in German, so no problems there! My hubby got a face-sized chocolate-covered cinnamon bun, and a chocolate-filled croissant to go with it. Yes, he's a chocoholic, even at breakfast. While we were having breakfast, I noticed an order delivered to another table. It's on one of those tiered-trays that one usually finds on high-tea services. I asked the server about it and sure enough, it's a breakfast selection. I swear, if I hadn't already ordered my breakfast, and if I was still hungry, I would have ordered one of those for myself as well. So I saved it for our next visit. The breakfast tray has 3 tiers ~ one for a variety of bread, another one for various jams and butter spreads, and the third for a selection of meat and cheese slices. All for 8.50 euros! Can easily be shared by two people, but I wasn't sharing. And hubby went with a second round of face-sized chocolate-covered cinnamon bun. All in all, we were very happy with this place. A great start to our day.

Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful, and spoke English like it was her native language (though it was not). We shared a Thai Red Curry Chicken (11.90), a Salmon Steak (14.90), and a (very!) large salad (6.50). I like my Salmon thoroughly cooked (it was between 'seared' and medium) so I sent it back for a bit more cooking. (They didn't seem to mind at all, but the chef probably silently cursed me.) My favorite was the Thai curry, which was fabulous (perhaps not entirely authentic, but close enough for me). The salmon was also good, though the accompanying vegetable noodles were a bit too oily for me (still tasty, though!). The salad as mentioned as huge, and while mostly different kinds of lettuce also had a few other veggies thrown in. An excellent, enjoyable dinner.
