I attended the Halloween event and I was extremely disappointed by the lack of concern for women's privacy and comfort.
Upon entering the women's restroom, we noticed a male employee (big, bald black guy) inside mopping the floors. I immediately approached another employee to ask why a man was inside the women's restroom while women were actively using it. His response was, "He's the main cleaner, and we have no female cleaners."
When I returned to the restroom, I noticed that the male cleaner was not simply cleaning and leaving. He remained inside, continuing to "mop" while interacting with multiple women entering the restroom. His behavior made the situation even more uncomfortable, and it certainly did not appear that cleaning was his only priority.
I approached the employee a SECOND time and specifically requested that the male cleaner be removed from the women's restroom. His response? "I can't do anything about it."
That response was absolutely unacceptable. I understand that establishments need cleaning staff, regardless of gender. However, there is a time and place for everything, and women's privacy should be respected. If a male employee needs to clean the women's restroom, management should temporarily close it, clearly notify guests, or make other arrangements.
What bothered me most was not simply the presence of a male cleaner, but the complete disregard for our concerns after we repeatedly expressed how uncomfortable the situation was.
Women should not have to feel uncomfortable or question their privacy while using a restroom, especially at an establishment they are paying to enjoy.
Euro Palace needs to seriously reevaluate its restroom procedures, staff professionalism, and how it handles legitimate guest concerns. The dismissive attitude from the employee was just as disappointing as the situation itself.
