Seit dem 25. März 1999 spielt die Musik in der Centralstation. Das ehemalige Elektrizitätswerk ist zum Kulturwerk geworden. Auf drei Ebenen - in der Halle im Erdgeschoss, im Saal in der oberen Etage sowie in Lounge dazwischen - gibt es tagsüber hochwertige Gastronomie in der Kulturkantine und abends Konzerte, Theater, Lesungen und Ausstellungen und Club-Events: von Rock bis Pop, von Jazz bis Weltmusik, von Klassik bis A cappella. Die Veranstaltungen sind so vielfältig wie die Besucher: Jung und alt aus nah und fern treffen sich in der Centralstation.

Established in 1999.

Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts als erstes Darmstädter Elektrizitätswerk erbaut, steckt das imposante Klinkergebäude mit modernem Innenleben heute voller Kunst, Musik und Literatur. Seit 1999 ist die ehemals ausgediente Industriefläche der Centralstation der kulturelle Mittelpunkt der Darmstädter Innenstadt. Auf drei Etagen wird in modernem Industrie-Charme ein breit gefächertes Programm geboten.

They have a smoking area which is actually about the size of most other danceclubs so it's not a huge problem. It's also above the HipHop dance floor and offers a beautiful view through the glass down on the dancing populous like a VIP area or something. Not very expensive either I went in and got nice and tipsy and only spent 35 Euros.

Before we left hubby went to the loo and came back looking quite pale he warned me in a hushed voice Don't go in there! Seemingly it was pretty grim, and I warn you he's not a fussy guy. Luther Allison. Also I had a room there upstairs for a while. It is the oldest kneipe in Darmstadt and very famous. I always had a great time here.

Die Centralstation ist am Samstag Abend meine erste Wahl. Denn: Nirgends sonst können die unterschiedlichen Leutz aus meinem Bekanntenkreis (vom Rocker bis zur Tussi) besser gemeinsam weggehen. Das Publikum ist bunt gemischt. Schade, dass nicht immer einfach Diskobetrieb ist, sondern das ganze immer unter einem Motto steht, was dann aber auch nicht immer eingehalten wird. So kommt auch am Rock&Pop-Abend House auf den Tisch. Überhaupt einer der wenigen Läden mit guter Rock&Pop-Musik. Mein Wunsch: DO-SA aufmachen, immer Rock&Pop und dann bitte open end und nicht bis max. 4 Uhr! read more
