Vietnam Quan is a hole in the wall Vietnamese bistro between the Old Town and Kazimierz on Starowislna street. Unlike other such establishments in the city, it doesn't pretend to be Chinese. Pho soup noodle is proudly advertised in the shopfront. It's quite decent. The broth has no hint of bouillon cube. It's the spartan northern style of pho though. Fans of Saigon style will need to look elsewhere.
Other items on the menu are quite good as well. I especially recommend the oriental chicken (kurczak orientalny). It looks good, tastes good, and is really affordable at 12.90 zł. Rice is not included. You can choose to add yellow rice for 2 zł or jasmine rice for 3 zł (French fries are an option, IIRC). Rice is served separately in a bowl, so using chopsticks is actually practical. It also means you can share dishes in the Chinese manner.
The combination of above-average food quality and low prices makes Vietnam Quan one of those go-to places when you don't feel like cooking. read more
