Parking is plentiful here. Sometimes I'll drop the car here to bike either way. Do not go to this park during rainy or snowy days. It's a flood zone, and Prosperity Road can be a pain even in the best conditions. There is a small playground for kids to enjoy, along with some basic charcoal type of grills. It is decent but nothing extraordinary.

The trail has lots of trees and seems to be in pretty natural state in the park, which is always a plus. I think the trail is the biggest attraction here, otherwise it's a nice local park if you live in the area.

The colorful flowers and unique park areas like the glass greenhouse, the secret garden, and the children's library were some of the spectacular highlights in Green Springs Gardens. Admission to this park is free as well. I was impressed by the manicured lawns for picnics, meditation, and community outdoor activities. We walked all of the trails there. I noticed the happy and musical chirping of many birds there. All the flowers were beautiful . I loved the delicate orchids the most in the glass greenhouse. Many nice sitting areas all over the garden to take small breaks from walking. This is one of the finest and a definite go see garden in the DMV area. I will visit this garden again & again.

You can see turtles, a bearded dragon, play with toys in a little nature nook that looks like it came straight out of the Berenstein Bears, or climb up and down their little play structure. The people who work here are extremely friendly and the price for all of this is Free 99. 4) They host field trips and birthday parties that are fun and informative for kids and adults alike. My three year old STILL talks about the frog who peed on the floor last year at her class presentation. We are so lucky to have a gem like this in our area.

This year, our picnic was planned for the hottest day of the summer so far. We have a big set up of games and inflatables with Ed Boak and Fun Services and a full menu with Bob Egan and High Point Catering. The building is air conditioned which makes it a great place to set up the food, cold drinks and some eating tables. The outside is so beautifully maintained with lots of shade. A smaller 2-5 play set, a nice feature and a very rarely seen Whirl A Round that my kids love. While the playgrounds are more or less standard the shade, the size and the whirl a round put this playground up a couple notches for your average elementary school playground. There is also a small older building that hosts farmers markets in the winter and a few pavilions that are nice for get togethers. Overall a great local spot.

That's been changed considerably. I'd say a complete 180. Was thrilled with my son tonight, to see where he got his first sacks as a football player. Personally I think he's nuts, but am proud of this student athlete. He said it himself, "this is at the same place, but major boost." That seems appropriate. The only challenge I can see is parking, but it's not like finding a spot in a large city. There's a community center and streets close by. The field is well marked now. All appears new and they did this field justice. Getting young men and women into sports is important. This facility will be instrumental in development. Families and their children will benefit!

This is a superb ballpark with artificial turf in the heart of Vienna. Waters field is primarily used by the Greater Vienna Babe Ruth (GVBR) League. It's a great spot to catch a baseball game. Restrooms are a short walk away in the Vienna Community Center. Parking is available on the street, but it may be easier to use the spots in the Vienna Elementary School lot on weekends if multiple games are occurring simultaneously. The only downside is that foul balls can wander into the street corner behind home plate, so be sure to keep an eye out for stray baseballs during games.

The piece de resistance is a 360 swing with three tethered seats that one can sit or stand on and whose speed can be regulated by a designated person pushing any singular unit with clockwise or counterclockwise. Think of it as a manually powered version of one of those swing rides at any amusement park at low elevation for 3 participants. As for the name, it is based on the remnant of an old log structure that sits near the picnic area so there is some historical significance to the space. ADA access and walking path available but no restrooms although Harris Teeter is a hop and skip away.

It's a short walk to the venue with staff on sight to transport people by golf cart. The staff was friendly and very helpful across the board. The venue is stunning with a beautiful amphitheater with excellent acoustics. While indoor provides a nice balance of coverage from the weather and a nice breeze, outside offers more of a picnic and relaxed vibe. There was not a bad seat in the house and the sound carried well wherever you sit. They have food and drinks available and an added bonus of allowing you to bring in your own food and drinks (great for a pre or during show picnic). The grounds are beautiful and this provides a great scenic backdrop to the show. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We were very lucky to experience cooler temperatures and low humidity on July 24, 2026. Parking is free, but it can get crowded. Bottled water is allowed inside the pavilion (covered seats near the stage), but food is prohibited there. On the picnic lawn, water and food are allowed. It's wonderful to enjoy a live music performance here in the summer. However, one downside is the lack of air conditioning in the pavilion. If it's a hot, muggy summer evening, be sure to dress appropriately. In northern Virginia, we are blessed to have this national park to hear and see stellar performances by world-class musicians and artists!
