I also had not attempted any maintenance in the last 4 years we lived in our home and so these shrubs and their roots were pretty gnarly. One other contractor included contacting J.U.L.I.E. to mark the utilities while I had to do that myself with RC but it really was no big deal (just went online to put in a request). Thank you!

He also didn't clean any of the little branches at the bottom of the tree. I had an arborist come out and they confirmed this was a total hack job. It's going to cost me $600 to clean up the proper way. I asked for a refund but wasn't granted it. The lack of care used in the job was astounding. Don't let this man on your property.

I liked the care they took while trimming the trees so the branches wouldn't drop in the neighbors yards and and that they meticulously went around and blew back and collected any chips or leaves that ended up in the street or a neighbors yard. The only complaint I have is that their billing system can be confusing to older customers like myself. They would "itemize" the bill for each invoice, but not give you a date on the invoice for when it was mailed out. Therefore when I thought it was paid I'd get another invoice with the old invoice date. If you don't keep the invoices in order as they are mailed to you or when you receive them, you might miss paying them on time, which I have done.

It wasn't the best work, but for $22/week, it was better than nothing as I had no time to cut it myself. I hadn't seen the guys out to cut my grass since about mid August, and had moved the second week of September. I assumed their season was over. My final bill received was for $188, to which I was prepared to send a check for. Today, I saw a $307.97 charge from Tru-Cut on my credit card statement. I never authorized Tru-Cut, or their receptionist Margie, to run my card. I never signed any recurring authorization form, nor did I sign this final charge! I called Margie, and she tells me they were most recently out on 9/30/15... Which is a Wednesday? What's funny is that I had a relative at the house Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday for most of the mornings, and there was no lawn service any of these days. Her response? "Pay your bills, then. Call on us, but you are stealing." I will be going to the BBB about this, as well as the Attorney General.

See photo from Danny's Craigslist ad. I expressed my desire to use the wood to smoke meat, but wanted to know a simple answer of why the tree that Total Tree Care had cut down had died. I was polite and respectful. The response that Total Tree Care gave to me follows. Please don't bother my customer or block drive way for long Monday, December 15 2025, 10:04 AM: Message from you: I'm simply trying to find out if it is safe for my family to use for smoking meat, which you surely know is different from burning in a fireplace. Monday, December 15 2025, 10:16 AM: Message from Total Tree Care: What diseases do trees get that transfer to humans? Idk Monday, December 15 2025, 10:23 AM: Message from you: Maybe I wrongly assumed you are an arborist and if you are one, you would recognize that if the tree died from a fungal disease (like Oak Wilt, which is common for burr oak), burning wood with fungus can impart terrible flavors to food and, more importantly, could release potentially harmful spores or toxins into the smoke that settles on the food. If the homeowner tried to first save the tree with pesticides, these would leech into the wood and when burned, are unhealthy. That is why those questions I asked are important. But, you still have no answers? Monday, December 15 2025, 10:29 AM: Message from Total Tree Care: Thanks for the lesson, why can't you tell from picture?
