While planning our November 2016 wedding, completely by chance, we stumbled across Oxford Media Films and immediately fell in love with their online gallery of highlight reels. After researching reviews, none of which were less than 5-stars, we were confident in this company's ability to beautifully and perfectly capture the most important day of our lives. We reached out to owner Shawn Heron through the Oxford Media Films website just seven months before our big day and were thrilled when our date was available. Throughout our planning, Shawn was extremely personable, reliable and quick to respond to our emails. When I covertly emailed Shawn to let him know about a Wedding Day surprise for my husband (a Rene Rancourt appearance), he sent me a link to another wedding he shot so I could see Rene's entrance & a little bit of what I could expect. Talk about going above & beyond! Come wedding day, Shawn and his second shooter Michael Kenney arrived at our hotel in Norwood, Massachusetts (from Derry, New Hampshire) ahead of schedule. In addition to Shawn and Michael, there were twelve other people in the Bridal Suite the morning of the wedding - me (the bride), the Maid of Honor, 3 Bridesmaids, Mother of the Groom, Aunt of the Bride, a hair stylist, make-up artist, 2 photographers and a photographer's assistant. There were more than enough people to make the room feel cramped and for me to feel anxious but, with their unobtrusive approach, I didn't even notice Shawn and Michael were there that day at all. As promised, we received the highly-anticipated 10-minute highlight reel a few weeks after our wedding which we love and have watched no less than two hundred times. Between the film footage and accompanying music, the video allows us "feel" our wedding day again in a way photography doesn't. It was obvious in our video, as in all of the Oxford Media Films reels we watched, that Shawn really pours himself into his work. His talent is unmatched - trust us, we extensively did our homework before booking our vendors. Honestly, there is so much you miss on your wedding day. Somehow, Shawn and Michael managed to be everywhere at once, capturing every glance, tear and moment that took our breath away. We love being able to see how our wedding day came together on the full-length DVDs we received - the bridal party getting ready, the guests arriving at our ceremony, the venue staff putting the final touches on the ballroom tables, the cocktail hour, reception... everything. All-in-all, booking Oxford Media Films was one of the easiest and best decisions we made. We are so grateful for Shawn, his art and ability to preserve our wedding day ever so beautifully. She had a genuine interest in figuring out our music preferences and really nailed it when it came to the event itself. We gave her a playlist to just to give her an idea, but she really crafted an experience that epitomized our tastes. Her transitions were so good and made everyone excited with each new song. She was so good at reading the crowd and I got many compliments on our choice of DJ. Something that struck me was that, after the night was over, she didn't just pack up and hurry out. She came and found me and we had a very nice debrief on the evening and she told me what a fun time she had and how much she loved partying with our crowd. What first come to mind are her spot-on good taste in cocktails, unique and tasty appetizers, and themed elements/themed pairings of drinks and food. The event's theme or themes are visible in the choices of food, drink and decorations, and the event becomes more memorable as a result. 2) Every detail is well thought-out, from the event schedule to the placement of food and drink and seating. I've never once had the feeling at an engagement planned by Two Birds Events that the room was too stuffy or too empty. There is always the appropriate amount of people, food, beverages, music volume, lighting, et cetera. It's rare to leave an event without a single complaint, but I've left their events feeling that they were flawless every single time. Two Birds Events is a planning firm that I would trust to plan an event from start to finish, and I wouldn't have to worry about one single detail. I wouldn't feel the need to micromanage because everything is thought about and planned for beforehand. That ability to delegate and have faith in one's planner is exceedingly rare, and Two Birds Events deserved applause for providing this kind of peace of mind, as it is exceedingly rare in the hyper-stressful, detail-oriented business of event planning. He answered any and all questions we had and went above our expectations. We didn't want a standard boring wedding video decided to have it shot in Super 8. He was easy to work with and offered us a range of services based around our budget. We were (and still are!!) completely thrilled with the quality of his work and all of the time, effort and care he put into making it perfect. He let us choose the music and didn't stop working with us until everything was right. If you're at all considering having wedding videography, New England Vintage Films is amazing. I…read moream so happy we found Dave! I never thought I wanted a wedding video (picturing cheesy 90s VHS cassettes with heart wipes, etc.) so didn't bother looking for one. But then just a couple months before our September wedding, my fiance and I were visiting my parents and we all dug out the old film projector and watched their 1977 wedding that some uncles had shot on Super 8. I realized that I wanted our wedding to be captured in the same way. I searched for Super 8/8mm wedding films online, and there's not a ton of options out there, even in Boston, and a lot of them are pretty expensive (turns out that it being old technology doesn't lessen the price -- it means the actual film is harder to get and most people don't know how to work with it). Anyway, I found Dave at New England Vintage Films and luckily he was available for our wedding date. He really knows his stuff and his prices were so reasonable compared to many others I contacted (even compared to non-Super 8 options, his prices were great). He was also willing to travel to Maine for our wedding. Dave was very easy to work with, super responsive by email and phone, and flexible about meeting us in person. He's also crazy enthusiastic about what he does, which is fun and shines through in the product he puts out. He was great to work with the day of the wedding, going out of his way to get in touch with our photographer beforehand so that he could coordinate with her and the day of they worked seamlessly together and Dave was invisible. Yet he got amazing shots of everything!! He provided us with a short trailer set to one song (our pick) much faster than I could have thought possible (a few weeks and it only took that long because we were slow getting him the song we wanted to use). The trailer is perfect!!! It's absolutely beautiful and romantic and full of cute shots of the kids in the wedding (which we requested). I've watched it at least once a day and many days more than once. Everyone who has seen it has LOVED it -- people I don't even know that well have cried watching it. He captured the day and the emotions perfectly. I didn't think it could get any better but then he finished our full-length film and WOW. Again, the cinematography (I think that's the right word) is stunning and soft and beautiful. And his editing is incredible. It's perfectly set to four songs we chose and captures so many amazing moments -- some that we didn't even know were happening on our wedding day but luckily Dave caught them. He's got a great eye and somehow knew just what would mean the most to us. We've loved watching the full film online and can't wait to watch the Blu-Ray that he made of it -- we've been saving it to watch with family -- because Dave says it will be even better in that format. I can't imagine it being any better. I smile every time I even think of it. We had so much fun working with Dave and are so happy with what he produced, that we're now going to have him transfer my family's old Super 8 films! We can't recommend New England Vintage Films enough.
