You know a video game store is legit when you walk in and immediately see 4 adults sitting and playing some of sort of card game, a sight you don't often see, and I am all in for it. I used to play a lot of video games growing up when I came to America. My first video game console was the N64 and gameboy, then the GameCube, then a little bit of Nintendo Wii. I have always been a Nintendo fan, and was never been able to convert to Sony PlayStation or Microsoft XBox. They just never appealed to me. I did not have many games because we did not have much money growing up. But I kept up with the video games scenery by visiting a couple of video games websites on a daily basis. Honestly, during that time, I knew more about video games than the people working at GameStop or GameXChange. I knew the creators and publishers of most popular video games. Video Games Plus sells the old games that I grew up with. I still recognize all the old titles because I can vaguely recall which ones have good reviews. Some of these games are being sold for too high of a price in my opinion. I still have a copy of Ogre Battle 64, which is a gem as there are very few copies out there, one of the best strategy RPG games.

Friendly, helpful local business with huge inventory and great pricing. You can find just about anything you need here and the staff will help you find whatever you need. They even could operate with digital payment in a power outage! They have Pokémon, magic and lorcana not just video game stuff. A gamer's paradise.

When Game Stop announced the ability to pre-pay for The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom on social media, they stated that those who pre-ordered at the store would receive a wooden plaque as part of their "special edition" offer. I went into the story and did the pre-order and was told by the associate named Devon that the game did indeed come with a wooden plaque. Fast forward to today, I went in to collect my game with the plaque and was told by Terrance that they had no plaques as they were given away during their release event the night before. I explained that the plaque was promised to me by Devon when I pre-ordered the game. Devon was at the store and said that he always says, "While Supplies Last". This was not the case. Matter of fact when I was pre-ordering the game, he was distracted by another person at the counter and was talking about a video game they were currently playing. When I kept explaining to Devon that the wooden plaque was promised to me, he said, "I understand but there is nothing I can do." He was very condescending and dismissive. He said, "I could try calling other stores but I am sure that they don't have any available." He said, "Nintendo didn't send us enough." When I was leaving the store, they rolled their eyes and giggled as they apologized to the customer waiting in line behind me. I had the opportunity to order this game with a discount from another retailer. However, I chose Game Stop because I was set with the expectation that I would receive the wooden plaque. I am sure the game will be great and that this may seem trivial, but I believe that businesses to deliver on their promises. If they're unable to do so, they should try to make the situation right and at least treat the customer with respect. I urge you to be cautious when pre-ordering games from Game Stop. Especially when they promise a bonus item as part of their "special edition" offer.
