The staff are really helpful and do their best to help you find what you are looking for or they offer to order things in for you if they are not in stock. They don't mind checking stock availability either and the staff in this store do seem to have a good knowledge about the products they are selling which always fills me with confidence as a shopper. The shop has a nice feel about it, and I often just pop in for a browse and usually end up buying something as they have always got great offers on. Even though it is not a really big HMV store, I always seem to find what I am looking for.

The staff are pretty knowledgeable and usually quite eager to help. I've always found the most useful staff are in the computer games section, they seem to know what they're talking about the most. Catch the sale and you can get some real bargains - CDs at £2.99 and so forth. Either way this is a great shop to browse, you're bound to pick up a CD of a new band or a DVD you've always fancied watching at a reasonable price. It has three floors, with each one being dedicated to either music, dvd/blu-ray and compuer games. The layout is excellent and it is easy to navigate between titles and genres which are categorised well. The main sticking point I have with this HMV and HMV in genera is the prices. Sometimes they offer excellent deals on certain albums or dvd's, but on other items they are incredibly expensive, compared to alternative online retailers, such as Play or Blah DVD. As other reviewers have commented, its also a little irritating that HMV's website will sometimes sell the same items you buy in store at a cheaper rate! That said, you can pick up some bargains in store that you can't on the website, if you are prepared to do a bit of searching, also look out for any sales they have on and you can grab yourself some excellent bargains. I tend to use the internet for a lot of my music/movie purchases these days, but I do still like to spend time physically browsing the cd and dvd racks at the store and make some impulse purchases and for that, you can't go wrong at this HMV with the choice available.

This store in the middle of the city centre is the biggest out of the two here. It has multiple titles for all platforms. Prices are usually competitive, but could be found cheaper occasionally by a few ££ if you search the web. But it means waiting for it to be delivered. You can also buy UMD movies and a small amount of Blue ray Dvds too. The staff are usually quite helpful, b ut you get much better customer service from the game store at the ricoh arena shopping park. They have a second hand section with titles from all platforms, which is a great thing. But some of the prices are only £2-£4 cheaper than the game brand new. I thought the point of selling second hand games was to make them cheaper?? Correct me if im wrong. A few of moans i will give about the game franchise is the fact they no longer have the following : 1) 28 days refund policy. Where by you would buy a game, eagerly get home to play it and find out how crap it was. You could then take it back for a full refund or buy another game. This policy has been removed, which is a shame. 2) The old school games section. No longer do they sell games for retired games machines such as the SNES, Megadrive, Game gear. To buy these you have to go elsewhere, or search the internet. 3) The shop seems crowded, with little room to move between stands and people! But there are worse, a lot worse (gamestation-far to clostraphobic!) So there you have it, my review of the Game in the middle of the city centre. Game recievs only 3 stars due to the poor 2nd hand pricing structure, which is either stupid or very clever as some people would prefer to spend an extra couple of ££s to have a game new. The Game in Loughborough is fairly well sized compared to other Game Stores scattered around the…read morecountry. Generally they have all the games you could want in store and alongside that they have a good selection of preowned games. The store has decent staff who usually know what they are talking about, although at times you can see they are making it up on the spot. The prices here are competitive to stores but buying online is much cheaper. However in store you do get the advantage of using student discount which will knock off 10% They usually have a 360 set up in the store also so you can try out the newest game. I must warn you though, dont go in on a Saturday, they are incredibly busy at this time.

This for two reasons - firstly the Woolworths across the street has closed down and secondly they have the towns main post office now full installed upstairs. Having lost their floor space to the P.O. they've condensed it all downstairs but it's still well set out. The magazine section is well stocked with the usual to the bizarre and they have an extensive book section. The only problem with that is that evrything retails at normal price where as you can get the same book for half the price at Asda. They have a back door so the shop tends to be a passageway to the car parks behind, which is something they probably encouage. The P.O. upstairs does exactly what it says on the tin.

Jessops is situated at the top end of the main pedestianised street in Kettering. It is a small…read morestore, but they do a good range of camera items like tripods, cameras and lenses as well as things like photo frames and accessories. The staff are very knowledgeable about photography and the stock that they sell as I have as been into the store and asked advice on what type of lenses to buy for different projects many times and have always been given good advice. I have also taken my camera in for repair as it was under the one year warranty and it was dealt with very efficiently. They sent the camera away and contacted me when it had returned and there was no fee to pay as it was under a year old and was purchased from Jessops, so was covered by their warranty. It may be a small store, but if you are looking for personal service and good honest advice on what camera equipment to buy then Jessops in Ketteirng is a good place to start. They also have good offers and sales too.
