I'm constantly on the hunt for a great hair stylist. After all, they're like your best friend, your preacher, your conscience all rolled into one. They're not easily ditched (it may be my loyalty gene), and once you've found one, you keep them hidden like a little secret that's only shared with your nearest and dearest. After one visit, I'm not 100% convinced I've found this in VS.
Sure-- their reputation is unparalleled. And like my fellow Yelper said, THEY certainly do tell you what you want. Which, for the most part is okay by me. I'm not a hair stylist and darned if I know what I look good in / what looks good on me. But two things I do know: I don't like my curly hair and when I pay a small fortune to have it cut and styled, I like to have it straightened.
Buzzing in a bit of factory-like way, they do take great care to give you a great cut. Their whole philosophy is based on the fact that they work with your natural hair to make it look great. I can appreciate that. But when I've lived with my hair for 35 years, and have never been satisfied with or successfully made it look great regardless of hair cut or product, I think I have the right to ask the person I'm paying to do my hair to blow dry it straight. Perhaps I'm too eager to please or easily chastised... either way, 75 GBP later, I walked out of there with curly hair.
