Turns out the furnace emergency mode was tripped due to a dirty air filter. Our new build home recommended we replace our air filters every 6 months. For the type of furnace we have we should be replacing them monthly! Sean quickly reset the furnace after 5 minutes the cooling and heating started to work again. I would do business with these folks again as they were fast and the price was fair. If it wasn't for the heat wave coming I'm sure they would've scheduled me sooner.

Primary alternatives were to (a) repair the broken blower motor or (b) replace the Furnace (heater) and Compressor (A/C). Their prices have also been more than fair. After suffering through a small fire at my home this last year and having a local flood and fire restoration working on repairs both of my units stopped working. No power to one that previously was working. And the other that was working was now blowing hot air. I was told that for just under $600.00 they would fix the one unit. So of course that seemed great. Air unit still blew hot air after their repair. Other unit that power had stopped to they said was a total loss. I decided to call my own HVAC people, Masco. Turns out the unit with no power, and yes breakers had been checked, had a wire that had been disconnected . Masco did a very thorough check going through attic and ground level. They spent a lot of time really checking, fixed wire that had been undone and charged a vey small amount for all of this. Air conditioner has been working like a dream, no additives or anything, just a wire. This is all documented. For my money and piece of mind the two HVAC companies up here that I would use again and recommend to anyone are Masco & Sons and ACPlus/Matt.

I was so impressed with the company and crew that I will only use them going forward. Edwin was the tech this time and he pointed out a few things the previous firm's tech never mentioned. The duct work was burnt as a result of it leaning against the exhaust. Edwin separated the duct from the exhaust, determined only the outer wrap was damaged and wrapped that section in fire resistant tape. The penetration for power into the unit was not properly sealed and he corrected that. There was no surge protector on the unit, I had him install one. Finally, there was no secondary condensate pan installed. I asked Edwin if he could install one, he indicated he could but it wouldn't be effective, the secondary pan is supposed to be installed during installation. I appreciated his honesty as he could have easily installed a pan under the unit that wouldn't have been effective. My wife and I have allergies and I asked Edwin if he was familiar with ionizing the air to eliminate dust. He was knowledgeable, we discussed options and I had one installed. It's been two days and I can tell the difference. I work from home, sneeze several times a day and just realized I haven't sneezed in two days since the install. Lastly, as part of the Protection Plan, I scheduled my on demand water heater to be flushed this week. I had been quoted $400 from the firm who used to do the service. Any company that pressures clients into making quick purchases using the "that price is good for today only" gimmick doesn't get my business. The technician that came to my home actually told me they don't need my business and then proceeded to tell me he makes 200K / year, with their sales folks making 300-400K/year. Their prices are so overinflated they can discount services by 50% and still make money. Let that sink in.
