We were there around 3 pm, so the chapel was locked up--another victim of COVID-19 pandemic?? Nonetheless, we walked around the property and enjoyed ourselves. There are some statues around the quiet property as well as a grave yard in the back. There was an equestrian watering spot with benches in the shade. There is a used book store as well as the Cabin Store which is operated by volunteers of the church on premise. At the cabin store, they offer ice cream, drinks, baked goods and souvenirs. The entire complex is a private property of the Episcopalian church being in the National Historic Park, but not part of it.

We attended this church by an invitation of our family members who are regular attendees. Initial impression of atmosphere was pleasant enough, but I felt they were not particularly visitor-friendly since no one spoke to us (in their defense, we were sort of rushing to proceed to find our seats and sit down as the service was already in progress at 10:30 when we arrived). Since this church celebrates Eucharist weekly (well about that, there was no words of institution to speak of, so I felt they were just going through the motion), there were communion elements in plastic containers made available on a table at the entrance to the sanctuary for you to pick them up without any words of explanation--again I thought it was not too visitor-friendly. Good contemporary praise & worship music selections. Service is well-organized and gives an impression of well-polished/rehearsed appearance. Nothing sloppy about this worship service from the beginning to the end--excellent. A children's pastor got up and proceeded to speak quite at length on why only child dedication was permitted and not baptism. I felt very awkward and alienated since we come from a church tradition where children are baptized as infants as our two children are. I didn't understand why they had to go out of their way to alienate a group of believers when the Bible does not explicitly prohibit infant baptism and suggests such practice occurred when the entire household of faith was baptized in to the fellowship of believers. Anyway... I thought pastor's preaching was to the point, and he delivered a very good message on fasting (though I had a question about his illustration of personal experience he used to make the main point). At the conclusion of the service we helped to put away chairs as it was the last service (second) of the day and left. I'd say it was a better than average experience overall. I hope they will make more efforts to better welcome visitors...

I will not go to a church who judges you. The pastor here does not do that. He is kind, and willing to help. The congregation is helpful. There are some great members who have their whole heart in this church to keep it going strong. A beautiful Christmas and Easter service as well. There is some good ol singing from the hymnal and sitting in a pew. Ahh, the organ! The organ brings in so much beautiful sound. Covid news: get on their email list to catch the service for every week. They also offer outdoor services with limited people. But, they are doing great things during this difficult time.

I admire peoples time I already explained I took Uber went to hospital myself, reduce waiting time, just pick me back from Penn to my home only 20 mins driving time. Was sad when need help but people of the church treat me in such cold attitude.
