Other than being experts in their fields both as individuals and as a team, the staff here are genuinely friendly and supportive. The personalized programs and heartfelt 1:1 training and attention are invaluable. They really help you to feel, connect with, and use the correct muscles - instead of just "going through the movements". This maximizes my time and my workouts at the gym and I've seen more progress than ever before. StrongSide is NOT ANYTHING LIKE Crossfit, and in fact many people working out here are rehabilitating from injuries, dealing with chronic illnesses, or maybe starting a fitness journey for the very first time. This gym is not competitive, and is genuinely upbeat and fun. You will find people from all walks of life sharing this comic-book themed gym. Did I mention it's dog friendly? If you want to have effective and efficient workouts, done with proper form, tailored for you and your goals, with help from professionals and support from other gym goers, this is the place for you! Normally personally training would set me back $75 a session for someone worth their salt. This gym is a fraction of the cost, with all the benefits and more. They also do a free neurokinetic assesment so you can come in and see if you think it would be a good fit, which I really appreciated as a skeptic! I was sold immediately and am stronger and healthier than ever.

Taking classes just wasn't helping, and I was using pain medication daily, even just to find enough comfort to fall asleep. Thankfully I found Strong Side. The whole team of trainers is so knowledgeable; they truly care and really listen. The personalized programs yield real results - more than I could have hoped for. The entire gym is so welcoming, with a genuine sense of community from both the staff and the members. I don't need pain meds anymore, and I enjoy setting and meeting fitness goals under their guidance and expertise. Highly recommend.

September 10th I was told I was no longer a member at 30 minute hit by the general manager. October 1st I was still charged, when I reached out to them I was told that my request to cancel my membership did not apply. That's not how the situation was explained to me, nor was I given any notice that "my application to cancel was rejected" prior to being charged, disallowing financial planning on my end. The explanation given to me by the owners is insanely standoffish and just plain unprofessional. I shouldn't have to check in with ownership (whom I've met maybe twice, only once at the actual location), when the staff (specifically your manager) at the gym had told me I am no longer a member. I consider the staff friends who have brought me a long way in my fitness journey and wouldn't expect them to knowingly lead me astray. It's very clear that Stacy and Brett value being "right" over doing right by me and letting the membership go, Dealing with the miscommunication internally. Please don't do business with this gym, if you are looking to support kickboxing gyms that support cancer causes in October may I suggest I love kickboxing in coquitlam. They also appear to have a Groupon available as I write this.

I have found myself another great workout for which I love and am sure to stick with. So glad that I finally decided to give it a try this year. I stated that I was interested in getting a membership but wanted to try out the gym first so inquired about drop in fee. I was advised they would charge me $20.00, though I could get in free if I go with my husband or tenant, I just wanted to work out earlier and didn't want to wait for either. I asked them what the monthly membership fee was, they replied, it's $15.00 a month to utilize 1 location. I then said, I know two people who already have memberships already who live in the same household, I just want to try out the gym as I was thinking about purchasing my own membership however, you still want to charge me $20? teply "yes" I understand they need to charge a drop in fee, I think I would treat every situation a bit different depending on circumstance. If I cannot prove Vy on my drivers license, that two other members of the gym lived in my household, I can understand that reply since there are people who will lie about things like that. It really makes me sad because I wanted to train there and have the option to work out with my husband or my tenant if I wanted to, however that experience made me not want to go to the gym ever

I was pregnant, and as it was a risky pregnancy, I asked to freeze my membership. The staff member on the phone was very helpful and informed me that they would call me BEFORE I would be charged, close to the end of the period of freeze. They didn't call me and I WAS CHARGED even though I was unable to practice any physical activity. I didn't receive any refund, even I saying that I could send them the doctor's note. 2. Then, with a newborn at home, I requested the freeze again in a different period, and 2 days later, I WAS CHARGED. This is unacceptable. It is no the customer problem how is the financial dynamic of the company. We didn't receive the refund! Finally, we requested to cancel the membership and also because we moved to Calgary. The staff member said that they need 30 days notice - what wasn't informed to us when we signed up. We said that we wanted to cancel right away and we also requested our refund for what we were charged on the 2nd time. The lady said that she would cancel it but the refund could not be made. At the end of the day, we basically paid the 30 days notice with the money that we should receive as a refund (for the 2nd inappropriate charge). We feel extremely harmed by this company, we feel that we were charged inappropriately. This is a company that cannot be trusted and that does not treat its customers honestly.
