Definitely adding this little gem to our rotating roster of local cafes.
Not only do they do a great breakfast, I can also now confirm lunch is yum too. All of the staples you need are there - bircher, porridge, eggs Benedict, a very good version of a BLT and of course it wouldn't be a Melbourne cafe without smashed avo and feta on sour dough with a poached egg on the side. And they do it right.
The lunch menu has bruschetta, burgers and a range of classic salads; caesar, tuna and the winner...a warm duck salad stack. Very generous with the duck and tender too. The only room for improvement would be to have allergy options listed on the menu.
Supporting the consistently tasty and promptly served food is a great outdoor set up with ample tables in the sun or shade and two rooms inside with traditional tables as well as window bench seating. Table service caters to whichever seating arrangement you choose.
I am looking forward to trying the 5-7 wine o'clock which runs Mon - Thurs and has house red, white and Peroni for $5. Not all at once I presume. I am equally tempted by the pasta night every Thursday. I have an idea, why not start with wine o'clock and follow it up with pasta night? Sounds like a good Thursday night to me! read more
