Unprofessional, rude and threatened to call the police! My party planner and I ordered 60 sets of plates and utensils for a surprise party. When I returned with my cousins two days later, I expressed that I was disappointed that they didn't set aside the large order. The primary issues started when we asked to count the items to verify quantities before signing off for them. Krishna, the sales girl became flustered and we found that they short on the items when the manager came out and insisted quite bluntly that I needed to sign the rental contract. When I stated I could not until we got the actual number of items on the invoice as we would be charged for these on return. The manager, got the owner on the phone and she, "Told us she didn't want our business and to leave" and they would return our money. At this point several clients where leaving, the manager and Krishna became expressly aggressive and threatened to call the Police, even though we were actually leaving. CRAZY! I was happy to give my money to another business. My advice: Take your money elsewhere! When you are forced to sign a contract based without having all the items, WATCH OUT! Truly the poorest display of customer service I have witnessed. They harassed a family of black customers threatening them with police action if they didn't leave. Their crime asking to count items before signing rental agreement. I honestly left in disgust. Shocking that the BBB gave them accreditation. So . . .I drove here from Guelph to buy a specialty balloon that I couldn't find anywhere else. I went on a Thursday night, because that's when I had the time to go, but my party wasn't until Saturday. I ran in, grabbed my balloon and headed for the till. There was a woman behind the till, pricing stock, who did not even look up to ring in my purchase until she was prompted by (what I assume is) the manager. I did not need my balloon inflated (obviously) because it was two days before the party and I was going to have it inflated in Guelph on Saturday. The balloon, including helium was priced at $17 plus tax. They rang it in and told me my total was $19.21. I told them that I did not require the helium. They told me my total was still $19.21. So I asked "so, I have to pay for the helium, even though I am not getting it?" they said yes, that is their policy. In my opinion, that is just plain GREEDY. Every other party store that I have EVER dealt with, has a price for their balloons that includes helium and a price that is less, if you are not getting the helium. Obviously, why should you be forced to pay for something you are not purchasing? I asked again why I had to pay for the helium when I didn't need it? At that point, the manager came over and started spewing lies, saying that their computer system couldn't handle that many sku numbers, so they couldn't have a separate skew number for each balloon with, and without, helium. SERIOUSLY? It's one thing to just be greedy, it's quite another to lie to me about it. How dumb do they think their customers are to believe a line like that, when they literally have THOUSANDS of other items of inventory in their store that have sku numbers? So fine. I agree to purchase it anyway, since I can't find this particular balloon anywhere else. At that point, they ask me if I want a weight for the balloon, which is an extra cost (and an extra sku number, I might add), and/or a bag, which is also an extra cost (and another extra sku number - which apparently their computer system is able to handle). I declined both, as I will never, ever give them another cent of my money. I do not appreciate being both gouged and lied to in the same five-minute visit to this store.
