As parks go, I ave always been reasonably fond of this one. When I was a teacher, we always held sports days at Viccy Park and it was a wonderful afternoon away from lessons - for teachers and pupils.
In recent years, the athletics grandstand and track has been completely overhauled and is now a superb venue.
There are numerous football, rugby and cricket pitches available, as well as children's play area, crown green bowls and a skateboard park. Unfortunately, the users of the skateboard park are of the opinion that everything is there solely for their benefit. There is a large carpark, but be extremely careful if you don't drive a Landrover or tractor!
On the pathways, one always needs to be aware that bicyclists may, at any time, come along at speed. If you don't allow them right of way you will receive quite a lot of abuse, although, occasionally, I have come across some with good manners.
