Little girl had a few riding lessons her and I got my times mixed up. I tried to call them but they…read moredidnt answer the telephone and they didnt answer so I asked another mum to pass on a message, and explained to her that I couldnt make it due to a family meal, my husbands nans birthday which we couldnt cancel due to her been really ill with cancer, but asked her not to tell them is as its a personal family matter. The message got totally misread and the stables had portrayed that I had lied, no I didnt, I just didnt want them to know my family business. Its personal and sensitive and quite frankly none of thier business. I only found out there was a problem after 6 weeks of trying to call them, and them not returning my calls, I drove down there to see if there was a problem, I was completly unaware that I had dont anything wrong. Anyway Penny and her Husband came out and didnt even give me a chance to explain what had happened and that Penny was just so unreasonable and then started shouting get out, we dont need your customer, I hadnt raised my voice once, I just wanted to see what the problem was and try to explain what had actually happened. I was completly confused, gob smacked at this stage by this women kicking off for a reason I had no clue about. It was just crazy. It was really unreasonable, unacceptable unprofessional behaviour from an actual business owner. I got in my car of which Penny and her husband followed me, still continuing to shout and act crazy, I made a comment which wasnt of the nicest of natures in response to her behaviour and she then got even more aggresive, coming to up my open car window, while my two small children where sat in the back, her husband was just ask bad, leaning on the front of my car, still shouting, infront of my two kids, of which I have never allowed them to witness adults arguements so I found this even more disgusting. I thought that my daughters lesson was at 10.30 and it was actually at 12.30 of which we couldnt make and all of the above over a missed lesson, of which I tried to let them know. On a different note, if you want your child to learn genuine riding abilities, then the teaching skills arent fantasic, looks lovely from the outside but definatly DO NOT miss a lesson or a physco could appear infront of you child. something I wouldnt want my child to see again. The words I am going to use to discribe these stable owners is DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR, that would clearly rather Fight with fists than actually talk. But a genuine mistake of a missed lesson, and all of this - REALLY???????????????????

It's early days yet, the official opening isn't until 26th August, but a lot of this newly…read moredeveloped attraction is up and running. There has been a livery stable here for a long time and this included a saddlery and farm shop. Now Swithens farm are about to launch their petting corner, play barn, improved farm shop and cafe. The shop stocks local produce including meat from the farm as well as a strange assortment of household items, the produce seems competitively priced and is obviously nice and fresh. A selection of sausages and burgers are also for sale crafted by the resident butcher. I haven't yet tried the cafe but a glance at the menu shows reasonable prices (coffee £1 and a full breakfast £3.50). Trust me, I WILL be trying it out. The staff are friendly and there are lots of smiles (will they stand the test of time?) I suppose there might be some explaining to do when your child finds out that the burger they enjoyed was the mummy of the calf they were just petting :/ I will be checking Swithens Farm out again so expect an update.

Visited Swithens Farm after having been recommended it on the Streetlife website…read more My goal was to find a local farm shop selling lots of locally grown produce, as an alternative to buying from supermarkets. Despite some high hopes, Swithens Farm didn't live up to that goal. There was very little fruit and veg available (half a box of Apples, a few lettuces and some sprouts was about it). The rest of the farm shop was stuff you would expect to find in the supermarket (Coca Cola, Crisps etc).
