A view of what looks like Oak Bay from the air, enroute from Victoria to Richmond.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE This review is closely matches the one I did for the Richmond terminal, as I booked a return flight between the two locations. 4.5 stars: it's pricey but the service is fast and great - huge time-saver over other travel options (e.g. ferry or non-seaplane flights out of YVR). Helijet is nice and fast too, but you get bigger windows to observe Beautiful British Columbia from the sky on Harbour Air! === 2. SERVICE I purchased a goGOLD return ticket between Richmond and Victoria and the process was easy online. This being my first flight with Harbour Air, I was unsure how to select seats but an e-mail to the company was quickly and professionally replied to and within 30 mins, I had my desired seat. When struggling to get to the terminal 30 mins before my flight, a call to customer service yielded another courteous and professional response and fears allayed. Check-in was also professional and before you know it, it was time to boarded, aided by yet two more professional young folks. === 3. FLIGHT Mick was the pilot on this return flight - always good to have an Aussie with a relaxed attitude fly your plane. It's clearly an older aircraft but it's clean and if you're not too large (a larger fellow well over 6', 250lbs had some challenges fitting in the middle) the available legroom should be able to accommodate you. It seats about 11 passengers and your carry-ons are placed in the back by the pilot upon boarding. Tip 1: you can sit in the co-pilot's seat of the single-engine aircraft - just ask nicely and depending on the pilot, they may let you! Tip 2: if you book a goGOLD ticket, you can get advance seat selection. The left side of the aircraft has single seats while the right side as two seats (side-by-side) - it's more comfortable seated on the left side naturally. You watch a two-minute safety video via iPad placed at the front and then you're on your way! The flight is 30 minutes or less between Vancouver and Victoria and it features great views from below 5,000ft for the entire journey. Earplugs are available for those sensitive to louder noises (like the main propeller). === 4. TERMINAL Modern and spacious, the Victoria terminal is adjacent to The Flying Otter pub/restaurant and it's a great place to be. There are three or four check-in counter spots, plenty of gifts and company-branded merchandise on display and lots of seating. Indoors, you have comfortable, relatively new leather seats. There are outdoor tables with umbrellas and other bench-type areas to site when the weather cooperates. Men's, women's, and a unisex/accessible washroom are located inside. This location does not offer free pastries, but it does have complimentary coffee, tea, water, fruit, and earplugs.

Cute airport with big comfy chairs and nice view to the harbour. They provide multiple free amenities such as wifi, coffee, apple, etc. The fly attendants are very friendly and helpful. I would suggest to come early since they give you 20% off for the flying otter next door.

I flew from Victoria back to Vancouver here. Great location. It departs from Victoria downtown. Just very convenient. Price was ok. Not cheap. $207 one way. But again, it saves time. Time is money. If you fly with harbour air, you get free tea, coffee, fruits but unlike the Vancouver location no pastries here. Or when you land you can grab pastries at the other locations if they have it. The flight is super scenic. I don't recommend paying the extra $10 for reserving seats. Either side of the plane is just as scenic. One thing about the floatplanes is that its quite noisy. Good thing Harbour Air provides earplugs. Also the planes is quite run down. Well it is a short ride so its ok. Overall, if I have to fly to or from Victoria, I would still take Harbour Air.

Booked a 45min sea plane tour around Victoria (about 30min on the air) and we had such an awesome time (aside from the occasional mini turbulence bumps). If you never had any experience flying on a small planes or sea planes, this is the perfect introduction to it. The take off and landing was actually very smooth and less stressful than large airliners. But once you're up there, you will feel every wind shifts and drops u like in large jetliners. If you're not a good flyer or if you just hate rollercoaster, this might not be for you. Although I heard that it was a windy day when we did ours, so on calmer day it wouldnt be as bumpy. Still a great experience. Also, service were excellent throughout. You could also request to sit in the copilot seat, although no guarantee

We booked a Fly and Dine to Butchart Gardens via Harbour Air. It was by far the best cruise excursion that we did on our Alaska cruise. Full disclosure, we did not book this through our cruise ship we found it on our own and booked it before we set sail. So we arrive at the terminal for take off and our group was five and then another couple joined us. We board the seaplane and take off for a quick tour around the city. It was so very beautiful and clear that afternoon. It was a lovely ride and I can't wait to go back to Victoria and spend a few days there being a tourist and taking in all the sights. You then land on the water and taxi into the back side of the Gardens. Lots of beautiful homes on the water and boats of all types. It did start raining but that did not slow us down. We walked and took a ton of pictures of the gardens as we headed to the restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant it was a little drizzly and she asked if we wanted to sit on the porch. We were concerned it might be too cold but they give you lap blankets and there was a heater out there. We found out she offered to sit us outside because there just happen ti be a Concert in the Park that night and we were able to enjoy the live music while dinning. It was spectacular! The food was delicious, and I say that even after having spent six days on a cruise ship! After dinner we walked around a little more and then headed to the front where a limousine waited to take us back to the ship. It was a wonderful evening.

Great flight service to area destinations. We flew Vancouver to Victoria and back a few days later. Visibility was unfortunate because of the smoke in the air from BC forest fires. Flights were amazingly stable and comfortable. I've heard horror stories of small planes being bumpy but that was not the case. Our otter carried 14 on the way out and 18 on the way back. Each flight was about 30-40 minutes. A great way to get around. Also, according to their info they offset their carbon emissions so you can fly carbon neutral with them.

It was such an amazing experience! I've never taken a flight in such a small plane departing out of water. Staff at tge station was very polite, kind and generous. Gave us coffee and fruits while we were waiting for the flight. Would definetly do it again!

THE way to arrive in Victoria is by float plane. Sure ferries are nice... (cough) No really, take a float plane at least once in your life. Bring your camera and be transported into a spread from Beautiful British Columbia Magazine.

What John Wayne (SNA) is to LAX, Paine Field (PAE) is to SEA…read more Maybe not the best comparison here, but for someone who has been to both pairs of airports with half of one pair in proximity with the other half, it's a fair enough proportional analogy where the airport sizes are commensurate to one another. I live in Los Angeles County about the same distance between SNA and LAX, and hands down, I'd choose SNA over LAX because it's much less hassle to fly into and out of Orange County. Similarly, if I were to live in King County the same distance between PAE and SEA, I'd indubitably prefer the airport in Snohomish County instead. That is, unless my final destination or choice of airlines isn't associated with PAE. Only two airlines operate at PAE: Alaska and Frontier. Flights out of PAE will end up in Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix, or a city in California. Any other destination, you will need a connecting flight. Any other airline, you will have to choose SeaTac instead. In my case, I was flying to SNA in Orange County, CA via Alaska Airlines. After getting dropped off at the passenger terminal, I made my way inside where I was able to check in my bag at a kiosk and get a luggage tag, which I secured around the handle of my bag, After dropping off my bag, I made my way to the TSA Security Checkpoint, where there was not a single customer in line. The security agent was in a very bubbly mood, even this early in the morning, trying to perk me up as I was still trying to wake up for my morning flight, so I do appreciate how upbeat she was to me! And I also appreciate how there was no line to get through security either! It's almost like nobody else in Puget Sound even knows about this airport that you almost wonder if you're even allowed to fly out of there. I flew out of SNA at an even earlier time, and I still had to wait a few minutes in line to get through security; my groupmates on this trip mentioned an even longer line at the TSA security checkpoint they went through at SNA. Hopefully they won't read this review; otherwise, they might be jealous of how I always found the shortest lines through security lol. I did joke to the bubbly TSA agent that I was still trying to wake up and could use some coffee; she mentioned there was coffee in the secure area. It's all the way at the left corner near Gate 1: Beecher's Handmade Cheese, which supposedly boasts the world's best mac & cheese. Hmm, can't be too certain about that. There's also a bar called Upper Case Bar, which is closer to Gates 2A/2B. Those are literally the only options for eats and drinks at this airport. If you don't like either, I'd recommend doing what I did: pack a couple of granola bars in your carry-on before boarding your plane, where the flight attendants will serve you refreshments, which include coffee. There are only three gates at this airport: Gate 1, Gate 2A, and Gate 2B. Initially, my flight was assigned to Gate 2B, which would have necessitated going outside before entering the plane. It was raining pretty hard that morning, and to make matters worse, my flight was delayed by almost two hours due to maintenance issues. Luckily, the flight got re-assigned to Gate 2A, which had a jet bridge, meaning that we didn't have to go outside to board the plane. Great news! I think the reason for the lack of a jet bridge at Gate 2B is because of how close it is to Gate 2A. However, if it rains a lot in that area, maybe consider a makeshift jet bridge on concrete so that passengers won't have to worry about getting wet before boarding the plane? Before the gate change announcement, we were told that they could provide umbrellas for us to borrow while walking to the plane, but there was only a limited number. I was almost afraid I'd have to use my own umbrella, which was in my backpack, and then place my wet umbrella back in my backpack during the flight. I really appreciated the awning at the dropoff location because, like I previously said, it was raining pretty hard during the early morning of my flight. I thought I was going to get a little wet at least before going inside the airport, but nope! However, since Paine Field is pretty large, I wouldn't recommend totally relying on GPS because it may take you to a different part of Paine Field. You might end up spending more time trying to find the airport than waiting inside the airport for your flight! I visited Everett, WA back in 2017, and while Paine Field had existed back then, the Passenger Terminal didn't until two years later. My only option then was to fly into SeaTac and then make the hour-long drive to Everett. Had my visit to Everett happened after that or if the Passenger Terminal had opened at least three years earlier, I easily could have flown in there instead. TL;DR: If you live closer to Everett, definitely consider flying out of PAE over SEA! Much less hassle and foot traffic here, but also make sure you know beforehand where in PAE the passenger terminal is.

I happened to be in the area looking for a nice spot to eat my lunch and found that I could park in the lot and watch the airport operations fairly close up. It was free entertainment to go with my bento box from the Maruta Shoten grocery store just up the road and made for a great afternoon. I took a peek inside the "Terminal" which is just a small single historic appearing structure. There was a single operating airline to check in at that I have never heard of. "Kenmore Airways" is in the house and I had to look them up to see that they serve some very small, locally regional destinations such as Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands. On quick glance, the inside seemed to have everything you would expect at an airport. Check in desks, baggage carts, a security screening area, and a small cafe. It was quaint, seemed quiet and efficient, and made me jealous since I am used to big box airport experiences with lines and long waits. There is none of that here. What I really liked here though was that I could walk up to the perimeter chain link fence and be 30 feet away from the small commuter aircraft operations that were going on. It was fascinating and I am really surprised that the fence line is so close to the planes. It seems like it shouldn't be that way in this day and age of crazy people but it was nice to see a last bastion of plane spotter decency afforded to the general public here. I loved that they have to post warning signs on the gate for people like me to beware of the jet or prop wash from being too close upon planes powering up. I am glad to see that there are still places like this for me to get my aviation fantasy jollies at up close and personal. If you like to watch planes, put this place on your bucket list.
