However, Tita is a wonderful instructor who really takes pains to make sure both horse and rider are safe and comfortable. We were instructed on how to brush the horses' coats, clean their hooves, and put on their bridle and saddle. Plus, I learned to get on, off, steer and post on a horse. I rode Betty who was such a sweet horse. Overall, my experience was just fantastic and my brother loved his lessons and really wants to go back. He couldn't stop talking about them and he loved the horse he rode (Simon.) The cost is very affordable, especially considering the level of instruction you receive.

I found this dog park on Yelp and we took the 3-ish mile trip. First, we noticed how vast and clean the dog park was. There was so much room to run around, and the place overall looked well-taken care of. Second, the regulars are so nice - both the people and the dogs. One guy, James, frequents the park often with his copper pittie named Penny. Penny was very friendly with Bucky, my Bostie, and soon the two were best buddies and playing. My mom, Bucky, and I stayed until sunset chatting with James, who told us about the park and the regulars. We had a great time here, and I'll be coming back the next time I visit my parents.

It was raining off and on, so hiking was a no-go since we had no rain gear. This amazing section of diverse landscape is comprised of 110,000 acres. "The refuge is home to an incredible biodiversity with more than 450 plant varieties, 417 species of birds documented, 130 types of butterflies, 45 mammal species, 44 reptile and amphibian varieties and approximately 40 fish species." Because it is a "national" refuge (part of the title was left out of the Yelp business page), fishing is allowed and there are public hunts offered here as part of conservation. This includes for alligator (hook & line only), archery deer, exotics (e.g. nilgai antelope), and white-tailed deer. Feral hog hunting is unlimited. Of high importance to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is refuge management of "the two remaining breeding populations of ocelots." We never saw any, but just watch NBC's "The Americas." I was looking to get a fitting for a set of irons and there isn't a lot of places in The Valley. I contacted them via their website and received a response from the owner, Tim, by the end of day. I called to check availability the next day and as it turned out they had an opening the following day. It's a small place in a small mall-like area. I walked in 30 minutes early and met the owner and Gene, who would be doing the fitting. I was impressed with the friendly, outgoing attitude of everyone. I was made to feel totally at ease. The fitting was fairly thorough. Gene gave me one small setup tip which helped and in about 45 - 90 minutes I was finished and placed an order for clubs. The computer generated report that showed the results of my fitting including club recommendations was in my inbox by the time I reached home. The simulator/fitting "bay" is rudimentary but sufficient for the task. Gene's knowledge is quite good. Their equipment, launch monitor, screen is ok. Not new by any means, but it gets the job done in the end it's the PEOPLE that make for a great experience, not the equipment and Elliott's has that to a tee. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone for a fitting if any golf needs. Fuzz the cost of the fitting was more than reasonable; $50! Visit them. You won't be disappointed.
