Brought in two suits, two shirts and three ties on a Monday recently. Was promised they'd be ready by Wednesday at the latest. I actually returned to collect them on the following Friday to be told 'one of the ties is not done'.
Returned a few days later (having to make a special trip each time), to be told they had still not managed to remove the stain, and that they would not be able to.
They had actually made the stain more noticeable in their attempts to remove it. The agent tried to blame me for not telling them what the stain was, not that they asked in the first place (despite me offering to point out the marks on each item I brought in - "that won't be necessary, our cleaners carry out a thorough inspection").
One of the other ties they cleaned had been damaged by their work, with the stitching completely severed on the rear of the tie. Now I know the stitching on these can be rather flimsy, but the cleaners should know this and treat the item with care.
The member of staff on duty each time was extremely surly, bordering on rude.
Despite the failure to clean the items on time, the failure to successfully clean a tie and the damage to another, they demanded, quite uncompromisingly, that I paid the full amount.
Another member of the public who was waiting 5 minutes to simply drop some items off remarked how the place had gone downhill to me.
In short, an appalling service. read more
