Sadly I cannot review lower, I can't reiterate enough how much I loathe processes and also how I highly value my time. I did my best to follow the sadly outdated UI (this schools website) only to find information regarding adult classes seemingly unstructured. So I decided to formulate my questions (so I don't waste my time going in a circle nor do I waste their time with an unstructured question) and go ahead and give the ol'telephono a ring....well little did I know I'd be giving that telephono several rings and it proved unresponsive time and time again. (Strike 1)
This was the start of an unseemly process and I HATE processes. The schools website says I can walk in, register, and start classes that day so I figured easy-peezy-lemon-squeezy, I'll just walk up and start my classes that afternoon and be done with it the following day (nice and planned out), ha. I arrive to the Manhattan location only to feel my heart drop as I witness people standing outside in a line IN.THE.HEAT (hello?) Was inside the building sacred ground forbidden to peons such as I and all who have yet to register? I don't know, so I stay in the car bc I'm early nor was I about to stand outside in the unforgiving heat until the allotted time for my class, but as I'm sitting there I'm seeing people pull up, get out, and turn around in disgust. I figured bc the line was so long and even though they were in the shade it still proved to be too damn hot to say the least. The time is 5 minutes 'til registration, so I get out and stand in line only to be greeted with a salt shakes worth of attitude regarding class capacity as if I were supposed to know this could happen before hand.
So I promptly asked when the next class was, only to be told that it wouldn't be until 2 weeks from now and I was asked, " If I was up to the task of taking the course". Oh wow I didn't know I was Ethan Hunt and this was mission impossible, yeah I accept. HORRIBLE business structure. Don't advertise walk in if I literally (a) can't walk in for some strange reason & (b) if you actually have some sort of class appointment system but don't advertise that. Doesn't it seem counter-intuitive to advertise walk-in if the person that walks in is refused and put on a waiting list bc of a class capacity? And if you have a class capacity due to Covid then you can most definitely update your website to say so, my point still stands on this structuring being tore up from the floor up. (Strike 2) You wasted my time and you don't seem to know what business structuring 101 is but imagine a not so distant future where appointment based classes exist.... too far fetched?
All the while talking to this woman I couldn't help but feel as if she thought of me as a nuisance and she came off with a slight superiority complex, it really solidified everything when she rudely dismissed me as if I didn't know what to do after we finished talking. Yes ma'am, I'm aware that I can go home since our conversation has concluded and I obviously have no further business here and nor will I ever. R U D E, don't waste your time on the Westbank, trust your intuition and just go somewhere else. read more
