I was then quoted an additional amount for the repair that I felt was completely unreasonable. When I questioned the charges, the price was eventually reduced substantially--which only made me question why the original amount was being charged in the first place. I decided not to proceed with the repair. The way the situation was handled, particularly the attitude I received when I went back to discuss it, was extremely disappointing. I have no problem paying a fair price for quality mechanical work, but charging a premium for a simple checkup and then being dismissive when questioned about the bill is not acceptable. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion and a detailed estimate before authorizing work here.
