Got robbed by the end of this July. It was the first time in life that happened to me ... robber was a handbag snatcher who drove by and robbed me (he targeted women with kid (s) and obviously I was one of his targets). Although the robber got caught 2 weeks after the incident (he was on the news and my handbag was long gone), I was still tramatized and totally in stress out/depression mode. In order to move on, I needed counseling. After conducting some researches online, I found VAC. This is a non-profit place to help crime victims of any kind. The counselor was extremely fantastic: great listener and was straightforward to all the issues. I believe the first 5 sessions are free but after that, the fee is based on the income scale. I was there only for 2 sessions and I felt BETTER!!! If you are a crime victim and need counseling, this would be the place for you. I highly recommend it. Note that no walk-ins as all sessions are by appointments only. read more
