We also transited through this terminal on our way to London, and the security screening wait was minimal, but it definitely can get very busy at times. There are tons of dining and shopping opportunities here. They also have a complimentary personal shopper service you can use to help you with your shopping including locating items ahead of time and escorting you to various stores. The British Airways lounges here are great particularly the Concorde room. Be aware of your departure gate as long haul services typically depart from B and C gates which requires an underground train ride from the main terminal and some additional time.

From the first contact with the company in the Kingfisher office, I was welcomed and had everything clearly explained in a clear and friendly manner. Tony, as manager, thoughtfully chose suitable drivers for the 2 separate trips. Alan and Jimmy. The drivers were interesting to talk to, knowledgable and made the days go smoothly. I liked the fact that they understood the group and were very helpful and accommodating over timing and all arrangements. The 3- day trip to Devon was a huge success with Jimmy showing interest in the places we visited and blending in with the group on the excursions and stops. I learnt as much from him as he probably did about Dartmoor and Sweden. Even the problem on the last day concerning the necessity to change the coach (which had not reacted well to the Devon hills) for another which was driven down early in the morning from Reading by the manager, did not affect our original plans. We still left at the appointed time with a different coach and our luggage from the original coach driven to the hotel in advance of our arrival. All in all a "superb" company which I would definitely use again. An excellent 4 days. Thank you to everyone who helped with this trip.

This weekend my flight was delayed by six hours and, as I walked through security, the driver called to make sure that I was OK and to advise his location at the airport. I tried calling the company responsible way too many times to count since the day after my luggage was promised to be delivered to me had passed, but no one ever picked up, and I was unable to leave a voicemail. I managed to find baggage enquiries at this terminal, but instead of being able to talk to someone, it was just a call box. I managed to speak to an employee who graciously took the time to escort me to an unauthorized office of the airport, so I can speak with the right person that could help me. This individual went above and beyond to try to locate my luggage. He was unable to due to no fault of his own (apparently the luggage system crashed at the airport the connecting airport in Belgrade). He took down my info along with my file reference number so he can pass this along, so my luggage could hopefully be shipped to me. He even gave me advice on what to do if it is not returned to me after a certain period of time. I wish I remembered the names of these two employees that went out of their way to help me. They made an anxious experience into a brighter one with their help. I'd also like to add that this was my sixth time flying into or out of Heathrow airport, and I always had a nice experience, thankfully.

I planned a well deserved vacation enroute back to Kenya from London, stealing an opportunity of a lifetime to visit and immerse myself in the African country of Seychelles. The Seychelles, in my opinion, is a close to a perfect tropical paradise as you can imagine, but I'll keep looking. My first leg of this journey was flying from Heathrow Airport to Doha aboard Qatar Airways, which is always a real pleasure.  A short two hour layover there, then off into the wild blue to Mahe Island, Seychelles.   We are staying at the Anantara Maia resort, an ocean front masterpiece of nature, beauty and tropical architecture. Being met by their transport vehicle complete with a cool minty fresh washcloth and cool tropical drink did add to my accolades for them,  even before setting eyes on their beautiful locale.  For those dreaming of locations such as fiji, while they are still on my list, shouldn't sleep on the Seychelles, one of the finest on the Indian Ocean. Succulent local fruits and veggies await thy palates (since going plant based, I can only attest to their veggies, fruits and they fed my sweet tooth well with intricate local pastries .  I had the privilege of 8 nights there, which still wasn't enough. I love it when a plan comes together .

It's a little on the pricey side as you are paying for convenience and a moderate to higher end hotel. the location is located within the outskirts of terminal 5, by the car port/bus station. There's a connected walkway and takes about 10 min (walking at a leisurely pace and waiting for the elevator) to get from hotel to the trains. The hotel is quiet large. The room is nice, spacious (especially for London) and serves it's purpose. The front desk was non stop busy with tourists, families, solo travelers and business people coming or going throughout the day. If you need a nice, safe, clean, convenient place while in London for a short stay and are flying out of LHR, this is a solid place. It's in terminal 5 so departures are right there. If you are flying out of another terminal (2, 3 or 4) it's a quick free train ride.

Signage in the arrivals area clearly directs you to the hotel. It probably took approximately 10 minutes to walk to the hotel from the arrivals area. The check-in process was quick, but they did not appear to offer a digital key and online check-in process to allow you to go directly from the plane to your room. The hotel is very large, and it can be a bit confusing to locate your room. The room was comfortable but rather dated in its appearance. A very odd thing - there were no charging plugs whatsoever at the bedside. The bathroom was quite small, and the bathroom shower stall routinely leaked water onto the bathroom floor. Our room also had no view other than an interior view of windows of other rooms. Our room featured Club Millesime access - the club is located on the check-in level. It's fairly spacious but is very bland inside and doesn't really have a view or anything particularly upscale about. For breakfast they had various cold items out buffet-style. If you wanted to order a hot meal (no additional charge) you had to order with the staff. However, there was only one staff and they apparently had to leave and walk to the restaurant to place each order. That resulted in a fairly long wait time. The omelette I had was overall quite good, but I wish they could work on the process a bit. Overall, this is a decent and convenient hotel for a night's stay at Heathrow Terminal 5.
