Over that time, we worked with multiple veterinarians here and spent thousands of dollars, so we genuinely believed there was a level of mutual trust and respect. In the past, the clinic had shown some flexibility when large bills came up, which we appreciated as loyal, long-term customers. However, our most recent visit completely changed our perception. We were quoted $254 for routine blood and urine testing, which is already on the higher side. When we asked for just a couple of days to settle the payment--something that had been accommodated before--we were unexpectedly refused. Instead, we were pressured at the front desk to apply for a credit line on the spot, and we were not allowed to leave until we addressed the payment situation. The experience felt incredibly uncomfortable, forced, and frankly disrespectful. After years of loyalty and significant financial commitment, being treated this way was shocking. It felt like the clinic no longer values its long-term clients and has shifted toward a rigid, impersonal, and customer-unfriendly approach. Between the high pricing and the way this situation was handled, we've decided to take our business elsewhere. This was, without question, one of the worst experiences we've had at any veterinary clinic. We will not be returning.

I have had several animals vetted there prior to change in ownership and they were wonderful. Even helped me with my semi feral cat who gets bad allergy breakouts. They vetted him by picture and it worked. Otherwise, I have to trap the poor kitty with a coon trap. New vet won't prescribe the medication (saying it's illegal / a steroid) unless he is seen. Won't to do it with pictures even though we've been treating him for years this way (he's indoor for 9 years but still won't be picked up). So the cat gets to suffer OR be mentally anguished by being trapped. I guess the original vet wasn't worried about jail time. He was worried for the animal. Will be taking ALL my animals elsewhere going forward.

He was extremely skinny. He had a few very bad days and on his last morning he had crawled into his bed and was barely breathing. He stayed like this for hours but seemed peaceful. We hoped that he would just sleep and pass away. After not moving for most of the day, with very shallow breaths and glazed eyes he began to have severe muscle spasms. We realized that he was not going to go easily and did not want our young granddaughter to witness this. Our regular vet was not available. Over the past 50 years we have had many pets and had to have a few euthanized. It's heartbreaking but had never before left us feeling disgusted. We took Kitty to Bluegrass Emergency Clinic. A staff member took him to another room while we waited. Another staff member came in and explained that the cost would be $265. This seemed extreme compared to our previous experiences of perhaps $65 but we were able to pay the cost. Kitty was brought back to us, wrapped in his towel, with a bandage around each front leg and an IV attached. We got to say a final goodbye and the doctor administered a few separate injections. The whole process seemed strangely complex. Kitty was returned to us in a box and we brought him home for burial. I received a detailed invoice by email: Quality of life exam - $71.25 (Apparently the doctor couldn't tell that this was a poor dying kitty) Catheter placement and Catheter - $51.25 Euthanasia and Euthasol - $128.35

Please see edited portion below…read more Here was my initial rating: "( 2 stars) : All staff were professional, thorough, polite, friendly, etc. My complaint is they did not listen to me. I made it clear that I just wanted one service. But I had to pay approximately $171 for services I did not want, what I wanted should have only cost me $66.64+tax (per their invoice). I understand why they conducted the services they did, but...they did not listen to me. I may even use them again, but I will be prepared to ether insist on what I want (not what they want) or just be prepared to pay for services I do not want or go somewhere else." Not every business has the moral character to contact a client concerning a review and discuss. Dr. Sheets did just that. I'm grateful for that. I did assume that the services I did not want were being conducted by the offices policies, rules, etc. I now understand that the services they conducted were regulated and required by the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners. I now give them 5 Stars and would recommend them!

The whole staff is very kind, they are easy to get ahold of, they have answered any random questions I've had and have an excellent reminder system for shots that are needed. I even like their vet records more haha. The price is very fair for the experience. The shots themselves are priced similarly to other veterinary clinics. Having been here several times now, I've never seen another animal booked as the same time as me. Which has created a very positive experience and my dog has never been stressed visiting here (like they were at another clinic).

I noticed my dog's food bags had maybe 10% gone. I know some dogs may be nervous and not eat, but that and the wrapped bones still in the bag?? Also my pooch came home with scrapes of some sort on her chin- they could have at least told us. They have a live camera where you can check in online, each time I did all the like-size dogs were inside together in a playroom. Note that playtime is paid for, separate from boarding fee. They didn't change it up for variety with good weather, low effort. I am left feeling sad for my dog and irritated at the incompetence and wish I had trusted a different boarding facility. As a loving pet owner do not trust this business!
