We had a rescue collie we brought her for vet services. They were affordable and very helpful in her care. We had heart worm testing, all shots, and fecal testing. We appreciate them fitting her into the office today. Thank you for the compassionate care!

This should not be allowed to be named as such. They gouge you on vaccine prices and re-administer vaccines that have just been done.

Looking for comprehensive, compassionate pet care for reasonable cost? This is the place!…read moreGainesway, specifically Dr. McCord has taken care of two of my toy breed dogs from puppy till the end. Dr. McCord was so kind when I had to euthanize my dog. Dr. Nolty explains things well and even writes it on the chalkboard as he speaks. From the front desk receptionist, techs and veterinarians all provide excellent, efficient care. The office is clean and has the appropriate equipment to care for the pets. I like that they are respectful of the pet parents and don't push treatments. Appointments are available and if needed they will add your pet or will provide treatment recommendations over the phone. Great place with authentic animal lovers.

I was at work at the hospital and happened to check the pet cameras that morning and saw what was happening. I live in walking distance to Gainesway Animal Hospital. Once bloat sets in you're on a short time clock to get them into surgery. I RUSHED home and called them..BEGGING them to take us. My vet downtown was too far away. I was told they didn't have an appointment until later in the week. I realize we weren't patients, and accepting us would've messed up their morning appointments... but it was an EMERGENCY. They told us to go to Tates Creek or MedVet. We would've never made it to the ER. The traffic on Tates creek just to get to new circle was standstill at 8am and he was deteriorating fast. Thank GOD Tates Creek took us no question. When they did the surgery they said his stomach was twisted 360 and if it was 15 mins later he wouldn't have made it. I will NEVER bring my animals to Gainesway. I worked for a small animal clinic in CT for 13 years. I know how things work and they could've tried to help save my dog and did not. If I could give less then 0 stars for the lack of compassion, I would. Thank goodness there are places like Tates Creek that open their hearts to people outside their registered patients and help save lives.

They had a special room where I could spend time before and after. When I went back to pick up her remains they still were extremely sympathetic and sweet. It's been almost 3 weeks and today I received what I assumed was the standard sympathy card from the office (which was so nice that everyone wrote something) but I also received all of her paw prints and nose prints plus hair clippings. They had asked if I would like them to do that and it wasn't in her bag with urn etc so I assumed maybe they forgot and it was ok. What a wonderful surprise and it made me feel like my baby was letting me know she was ok. As far as price (and I would've paid anything to my baby) they were very reasonable especially considering it was an emergency visit. I literally didn't have to worry about anything. It was all taken care of for me. I can never thank them enough. I highly recommend BVS. I feel like my Sophie is was treated with love and care. Thank you to the entire staff.

I happened to check the pet cams at work and saw it happening. I rushed home to get him to the vet. Once bloat sets in, it's a surgical emergency and there's less than 2 hrs to correct it before it's fatal. I was turned down by Gainesway Animal Hospital because we weren't a patient and Tates Creek accepted us with open arms no questions asked. I was running out of time and the ER vet and our regular vet were too far and traffic was standstill. Dr. Henze met me in the parking lot to help me with him and he immediately went into an over 3 hour difficult surgery. I am so grateful for Tates Creek and their staff. They saved my dog's life, helped us, and showed so much care and compassion. Ash's stomach was twisted so badly that 15 minutes longer and he wouldn't have made it. My dogs are my children and my entire world. Dr. Henze continued to help us with aftercare even after he came home from MedVet where he was transferred to for 247 care post surgery. They saved my best friend and my heart, and I will forever be grateful to him and his team.

Please see edited portion below…read more Here was my initial rating: "( 2 stars) : All staff were professional, thorough, polite, friendly, etc. My complaint is they did not listen to me. I made it clear that I just wanted one service. But I had to pay approximately $171 for services I did not want, what I wanted should have only cost me $66.64+tax (per their invoice). I understand why they conducted the services they did, but...they did not listen to me. I may even use them again, but I will be prepared to ether insist on what I want (not what they want) or just be prepared to pay for services I do not want or go somewhere else." Not every business has the moral character to contact a client concerning a review and discuss. Dr. Sheets did just that. I'm grateful for that. I did assume that the services I did not want were being conducted by the offices policies, rules, etc. I now understand that the services they conducted were regulated and required by the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners. I now give them 5 Stars and would recommend them!

The whole staff is very kind, they are easy to get ahold of, they have answered any random questions I've had and have an excellent reminder system for shots that are needed. I even like their vet records more haha. The price is very fair for the experience. The shots themselves are priced similarly to other veterinary clinics. Having been here several times now, I've never seen another animal booked as the same time as me. Which has created a very positive experience and my dog has never been stressed visiting here (like they were at another clinic).

My dog immediately choked up kibble, and within about 30 minutes of getting him back to my hotel, I had to request input from my vet back home and immediately take him to the ER Vet where he had to spend the next almost two days. He had aspiration pneumonia. They of course denied the entire thing and when I went in to view the camera footage they had, they had a clip of the footage that was about 1:30 seconds long that had been cut to not show me going over to my dog where he has choked kibble up. I called immediately when I got to the hotel room, as I didn't want to react immediately due to the emotion involved. They of course have denied everything. I've stayed quiet about this incident for almost a year now because I honestly thought maybe they'd own up to their (maybe) mistake and do what was right and help cover what I had to pay for. I am active duty military and have to travel to Lexington frequently for clinical. I trusted this business with my furchildren and they failed. I just truly hope that next time this happens, the outcome isn't different. Had I waited until the next day to take my pup to the vet, he most likely would not have survived. Within hours he was on oxygen at the ER vet. I've been dealing with their insurance company since January and they will not be covering anything. This is honestly, the outcome that I expected, as both Uptown Hounds and The Hanover Group did not display much professionalism. The worst part is, they won't even refund me the amount of services that I paid for and will never receive for my dogs. I truly hope no one else has to deal with this situation.

The staff are so kind and flexible with travel changes (if you need to pick up earlier or stay an extra night) which is really helpful when flying. I typically send toys that I don't mind losing just as a precaution, but they've never lost anything I've sent with my dog and everything comes back neatly packed in his bag. I don't worry about my baby at all while he is at Uptown.

Went to a doc in Cynthiana was told what the damage was and I needed an orthopedic surgeon. They said there was no one locally that did that kind of surgery. I could go to Cincinnati or Louisville or there is one that travels to Georgetown periodically that they would put me in touch with. They said it would be expensive $4500+ and it would be 2 weeks before he could do it. If I couldn't afford it then they said I could do nothing and it would just hang there with no use or amputate! I refused to believe there was no one else!! Lexington?! Really?!? So in a panic I started calling vets to see if I could get referrals for a vet that does orthopedic surgery and I got several diff referrals and was waiting for callbacks when I called the Animal Care Clinic in Lexington. Lori answered the phone right away and was so kind and helped calm me down then she said "let me call the Dr and I will call you right back." I sent her images for Bailey's leg and figured it would be awhile but within 5 min she called me back and said "the Dr said come in the morning and he will take a look and that he thought he could help her." I literally cried! The next morning I walked into the office. I was amazed!!! There wasn't room full of people and their pets in an overcrowded waiting room. It was like walking into a very nice hospital! It was decorated so nicely! It was clean and organized! I immediately was greeted by Ms. Christina at reception and she took me straight to a room. Lori came in and then Dr. Schroyer. He examined Bailey and sat down and explained her injury, how he would repair it, recovery time etc. I was worried it was going to be a fortune but he was so much more affordable! It made it possible for us to afford it. The surgery went great. We went home and the office would call periodically to check on her progress between follow-up visits. Animal Care Clinic was the ABSOLUTE BEST clinic I have ever been to!! Working with rescues I have seen quite a few clinics so I can say with confidence you will not be disappointed with Animal Care Clinic!!! We stop by just to say hi when we're are in Lex!! She runs in so excited to see everyone!!! I figured she would be afraid to go in but even today she gets so excited!!! A dog being happy to go to the vet's office after surgery?!??!
