My dog's eye bad now because this place

Avoid this place. This happened a year ago. They were very nice initially. My dog has cataracts in both eyes but one worst than the other. You could barely see it but I still went ahead and she had surgery, right eye only. Followed everything they said and still my dog had a nasty scar I asked and they said it will get smaller and go away. That did not happen. She is going blind now. I called and told them again that it wasn't getting small and they were in a mood and told me I needed to pay a new consultation. The right eye now is getting blind and you can definitely see something is wrong with it. She didn't look like this before the surgery.

Dr. Corcoran and staff were very attentive to our needs and did everything they could to help us save Jax's eye. In the end his eye had to be removed but we felt that Dr. Corcoran gave us all the information she could to help make an informed decision that was the best care we could possibly give him considering his medical state. She cares about her patients and their humans and it definitely showed on Monday when we came in for an unplanned visit and surgery for Jax. She and her staff spent extra time after hours to ensure Jax came out of his anesthesia which is something that isn't easy for him since he is a French Bulldog. They have been very accommodating and we are very grateful to have them there when we needed them.

I know the waiting room in this office can be a circus but it's the BEST!!! Dr. Corcoran is amazing at what she does. 7 years ago she did a cataract removal surgery on our 10 year old chow-chow and more recently or 12 year old beagle mix needed and eye removal but on the day of surgery Dr. Corcoran called and said she wouldn't recommend surgery because her eye is just a symptom of a much bigger problem and she felt she would be doing us a disservice. I will forever be grateful for the care she she has shown us. You won't find a better doctor for the care of your pets vision or a better place

Pup a few hours after surgery, finally pain-free and recovering happily.

Bottom Line: Highly recommend this practice, worth the wait and the money. Will return here if we ever have another eye problem. Pros: Well regarded professional surgeon provided a number of options with a thorough exam. Surgery went well with clear pre/post instructions. Set and met expectations of cost, communication, & appointments. Great vet tech and Amanda in the front was awesome. Cons: Wait time for appointment (likely unavoidable given the supply vs demand). Request appointment button on website didn't yield a response - just call. We came here for a second opinion after our vet kept saying we shouldn't be concerned with what she called cataract. Turned out our suspicions were correct and our 10 year-old Sheltie had been suffering from chronic glaucoma for some time and needed to have his eye removed. We called all three of the veterinary ophthalmologists in the area and Vet Vision's prices were in-line with or less than others for the initial exam. As there are only a few in the area, there was a wait for the initial appointment, but they were able to squeeze our pup in for surgery within a week. The staff overall was amazing. Our dog has PTSD and the vet tech was patient and handled the exam with care and professionalism. One of the ladies at the front desk, I believe her name is Amanda, put us at ease, was professional, and provided excellent customer service and communication. Dr. Corcoran didn't pressure us at all, was clear about the pricing, and worked with us to help keep the expenses down as much as possible. One of the rescues we follow closely uses Vet Vision for their eye needs and highly recommends her as do we now. All of the patients and their pawrents who were coming in seemed like family to the staff and all seemed very happy. Looking through other reviews, I'm not sure where some of them are coming from. Was it cheap? No. Was it in line with the prices in the area? Yes. They were up-front about costs. Dr. Corcoran was clear about the risks, benefits, and alternatives to the surgery and in no way pressured us to choose any of the options she presented - she actually encouraged us to take our time and think about it (we didn't need to as we knew what we wanted). At no point did she toot her own horn or tout her accolades/education, she was professional and humble. There is one woman at the front who isn't as personable as everyone else, but wasn't unprofessional or rude. All of our expectations were met or exceeded and we will gladly come back as needed in the future.

    Grateful patient

We had a completely positive experience with this practice. It was the only place that gave us answer what was going with our kitty (it was FIP that was considered fatal until last couple years) and (until it wasn't too late!) referred us to the only available experimental treatment with 95% success rate. We are so grateful, Dr. Corcoran has literally saved our kitty.

Proof Vet Vision LIED. First call from me at 4:09 pm indicating surgery had not been performed. 5:16 pm from VV indicating cat was ready.
    Sara P.

5/6/2022: WARNING!!! AVOID THIS "BUSINESS" AT ALL COSTS. This vet is unethical, unprofessional and makes FALSE claims. She submitted LIES to the rescue organization. For example, I NEVER said that I could not wait for discharge paperwork. I NEVER expected an appointment at 8:30 am to end at 8:30 am. Today I took a picture of yesterday's call log with Vet Vision (attached, fact) - an outgoing call from me to Vet Vision at 4:09 pm checking on the status of the cat which I was told surgery had not taken place. At 5:16 pm I received a call from the clinic saying the cat was ready for pick up. To LIE AGAIN and say all need to pick up between 4 and 5 pm was/is ABSURD as the cat was not ready until 5:16 pm, which I was already there waiting. For this vet to place in the paperwork in caps "EVERYTHING OUT OF HER MOUTH IS NASTY..." (after I had the courage to provide honest and open feedback to the vet directly - that the experience was unacceptable and I would not take my own cats here) goes to show how extremely untrustworthy, unethical and unprofessional this individual is. A complaint with the BBB has been filed. I will also be submitting a complaint regarding animal neglect (leaving the cat on the sidewalk and sketchy/unethical/unprofessional behavior). Do yourself a favor, AVOID this vet and find someone ethical, professional and trustworthy. This owner/vet is not. There is one vet tech there, a female, who is a truly wonderful individual. That vet tech deserves ample kudos for continuing to hang in there. 5/5/2022: This business should be visited by a regulator who has the power to push for positive change. I had an appointment on 4/25/2022 for an initial consult at 8:30 am for a rescue organization's cat. I arrived 15 minutes early, they took the cat and had me wait in the car. By 9:10 am, I walked in to check on the cat. They had not seen her. I indicated that I was supposed to be at work by 9 am but could explain a 30 min delay and by 9:15 am, the cat was back in my car with instructions from the vet tech for meds 1x per day and NO time from the vet. At most, the cat received 5 minutes of the vet's time. Two days later paperwork showed and it indicated meds 2x per day. I scheduled her eye surgery after written email approval from the rescue organization for 5/5/2022 and was told to drop her off between 8 - 9 am. I showed up at 8 am and was the first in the door. They indicated she was not on the surgery list and struggled to find her paperwork. I called at 4:15 pm and they still had not performed the surgery. I showed up a little after 5 pm to collect the cat and the vet finally came out to talk to me around 5:15 pm. She demanded payment, which had already been discussed that she was a rescue cat and that was on the paperwork she was holding. When I said the experience was unacceptable and I would not take my own cats here, the vet threw the meds on the chair and stomped off saying "an employee had a heart attack," "this is a business" and "you (me) was in a hurry (the first visit)." I went to my vehicle to wait and the vet put the cat on the sidewalk and said come and get her. I immediately called the rescue founder and learned Vet Vision already charged the organization's card on file. Bottom line, continued VERY CONCERNING experiences with this organization.

Yes, there are much closer options near me but after experiencing a few failed attempts at finding something closer because of rude receptionist and pushy veterinarians appearing more like a car salesman trying to up sell me on unnecessary examinations, labs and biopsies. I decided to expand my search and found Pet Lovers Animal Hospital. We couldn't be happier with the professionalism and care we receive from the entire staff. We especially love Dr. Yong Chun and Robert. Dr. Chun communicates very well and provides excellent care to our dog Rex who is a routine patient between his Cytopoint (allergy) injections, vaccinations and most recent visit due to a bacterial infection in his nose. Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing the best care to our dogs. We will continue to be loyal customers to this veterinarian.

Despite that info, your team made a strong case about selling prescription treatment and you admitted to me verbally that your technicians didn't communicate that and weren't well trained. 2. When the technician lady I spoke with yesterday kept on cutting me off and saying that I was the one who rejected the heartworm test because your hospital "always" does things right, yes I got frustrated. I told her I was going to hang up and that I would find another hospital because I didn't want to continue being talked over and gaslighted. In my perspective, a proper response from your team would have been "I am surprised to hear that wasn't relayed to you. There must have been a mistake." And not "Our hospital always asks the owner so it must have been you who rejected it" esp when she couldn't find any records 3. Lastly it is my bad for assuming that the technician was the doc's wife. I am truly sorry for that. Being Korean myself and supporting a lot of Korean establishments in NOVA, I see a lot of husband-wife businesses. That lady's demeanor said she didn't care about losing my business at all so I assumed she was related to the owner. I am sorry as it was a cultural misguided assumption. Since you say that you are hoping to improve, my sincere feedback for your hospital is below: 1.) Please take some time to improve on empathy and customer service. Take a moment to listen to the customer. Please refrain from being defensive, cutting people off, arguing back, etc. I have never in my 20+ years in NOVA have come across an establishment where I felt the communication was this difficult. 2.) Kindly take the time to talk with patients & train your technicians on products they are selling, on customer service, on promoting clear/transparent processes. Yes you treat animals. But you are the main communicators with those pets' owners. Does a doctor at the hospital only checks up on the patients and prescribes treatment? No - they talk with family members, clearly explaining and assuring of what they are going to do and train their nurses to best assist with the treatment. That is part of the job and is a huge part of patient care. I have a right to my experiences and to share my perspective as do you. Please don't accuse my experience as being slanderous and unfactual. Obviously there was a lot of miscommunication but maybe that in itself can be a starting place for you to reflect on how to best mitigate those problems in the future. I wish you and your business best of luck. ---- It's not worth the stress, people. Please don't be swayed by the prices & look elsewhere. Three main reasons why I'm taking my dog elsewhere - Unclear Practice/Process, Poor Communication, Aggressive Attitude toward customers. A couple of weeks ago, I brought my dog in for an annual checkup. He was having diarrhea but I wasn't too worried as it happens occasionally, but since my dog's annual checkup was due in a month or so, I thought why not bring him in early just to check? I relayed this as I checked my dog in. Then a headache ensued with their technicians trying to sell my husband this comprehensive treatment plan to my dog. I was so confused - how could there be a treatment plan when the results of the bloodwork wasn't even out? When I went to pick up my dog, I told the doc - I get all the other shots you're giving my dog, but "what's the difference between getting my dog prescription food vs. feeding him a bland diet for his diarrhea?" And the doc said, "you don't have to cook." ...I was baffled. There was a miscommunication, a large part of it was due to undertrained technicians which the doc admitted to, and yet he had a standoff with me for 30 minutes. Whatever, I just wanted to take my dog home. THEN, a couple weeks later today, I was ordering heartworm medicine through Chewy and they declined it. I call the hospital and this Korean lady whom I assumed to be his wife based on how she was asserting herself, tells me that my dog didn't get his annual heartworm test. I asked her why then didn't they tell me when I went in for a checkup and then she aggressively argued that she's sure that someone must have told me. She looked in my records, but there was no record of me saying I declined the heartworm test, because I didn't. Yelp-fam, I told you the facts. You decide if the headache is worth it. Prices are great. But if you're anything like me and want the absolute best care for my dog and be treated in a professional/kind way, then pay a bit extra to get care elsewhere. Walk away. Also, DM me your favorite vets in NOVA. Looking for a new one for my fur-best friend.

We enrolled in their Calm at the Vet series after a terrifying blood draw at a previous clinic left me worried my dog would need full sedation at the vet forever. The program includes six visits with a skilled veterinary technician, written materials, videos, and (very importantly) homework. Katie, our vet tech, was talented, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. She tailored each session to my dog's pace and to my own skills and understanding, offering spot-on coaching every step of the way. Today, at our final session, my dog cooperated with a blood draw without restraint and without even a lip curl. A year ago, he had a full-on panic attack and the vet recommended we proceed anyway, which I regret consenting to. The difference in practice and the transformation in my dog's reactions is remarkable. The clinic environment is calm, quiet, and intentionally designed to reduce stress. The team uses gentle, consent-based handling, watches body language carefully, and never rushes or forces a dog into something they're not ready for. I also felt supported as a guardian--they treated me as a teammate and made veterinary visits feel doable again. If you have a fearful, anxious, or reactive dog, this practice is a gift. My pets were lucky because for about 12 years they had Dr. Wolf who was absolutely professional and compassionate. Unfortunately, Dr. Wolf passed away when my youngest ca, Paung, was 8 years old. About 9 months ago. Paung was diagnosed with hyperthyroid. The drug they gave us to control Paung's thyroid was expired. I didn't notice the expiration date until 5 days later. So for 5 days my cat was taking expired medicine. After that I decided to try to get the same medicine form Amazon, but it required the vet to fax in a prescription. I called the Vienna animal Hospital to remind them to send in the prescription, the receptionist said they would have the Dr. do it. But a week passed and nothing was done, Amazon finally sent me a notice saying the order was cancelled. On March 20th, 2026. Paung, who was almost 17 year old, was exhibiting signs of pain. We thought he was having constipation since he had a few similar episodes before. But this one seemed to be worse. So we made an 8:00 a.m. appointment with Dr. Chervez at Vienna Animal Hospital. We arrived 5 minutes early. As we waited, we saw three other 8:00 a.m. appointments being admitted into patients rooms. 5 minutes passed 8:00, my husband asked the receptionist what was going on. She said since we'd arrived 5 minutes early, it was normal for us to wait. Meanwhile my cat was distressed and crying constantly. Another 15 minutes passed, we asked if the Dr. was available, they said he was, just delayed. We didn't know what that meant. Was he there or he had not arrived yet. But the receptionist didn't seemed to know. We finally decided to leave. On our way out, I told the front desk that they were not very professional. They answer was "OK" with a shrug of their shoulders. We had to go to another vet since Paung was obviously in pain, but there was no appointment available until 1:00 p.m. It turned out Paung's kidneys had failed and he was euthanized 2 days later. Our hearts are broken because of the passing of a beloved pet who'd given us love and comfort for more than 15 years. But what we are having a hard time to accept the fact that Vienna Animal Hospital had made Paung suffer unnecessarily in the final days of his life. I don't believe they have the uttermost professionalism, compassion and empathy required as a veterinarian hospital.

When they returned to the call, I had to go back through everything again, only for them to ask me to repeat it again. Very polite people, but they don't have good listening skills. I would be hesitant to work with a vet that will not listen to clients or other vets. After the call I looked them up online and found multiple complaints against this vet and information about investigations into the practice. I called several other specialist dentists and vets in the area and asked about them for their recommendation on this vet. Everyone told me to avoid this practice. I am not sure what is going on, but this is not the experience I expected from a professional practice and I shouldn't have to divert my time into investigating the merit of a practice when I need to focus on emergency care for my beloved pet.
