Parrish Creek Veterinary Clinic

Parrish Creek Veterinary Clinic

I am writing this review to share our experience in hopes that it does not happen to another animal…read moreor family. Parrish Creek Veterinary Hospital killed my son's perfectly healthy bird during what was supposed to be a routine blood draw. There was no accountability, no apology, and shockingly, they asked my son to pay immediately after his bird died. When they brought his bird back to us, she went into cardiac arrest right in front of my son. This was later determined to be caused by severe blood loss, which led to anemia and cardiac failure. She passed away in front of him. Afterward, she had large bruising at the puncture site and blood in the back of her throat, which, for reasons never explained to us, did not seem to concern the staff at the time. We escalated this to their insurance company, which denied responsibility for reasons that make absolutely no sense. Parrish Creek has insurance specifically for situations like this, yet they refused accountability. We will be attaching all documentation, including: Parrish Creek's medical report An independent necropsy report The insurance denial letter An avian specialist who was present during the necropsy has provided a written statement confirming that Blue bled to death. She had no clotting disorders, and the amount of blood lost--between the blood draw and internal bleeding--exceeded her body weight. The clinic later claimed they verbally explained the risks of the blood draw to my son and his father. This is not true. Both state clearly that no risks were discussed. No consent forms were signed. No paperwork was provided. Nothing. My son specifically chose this clinic because their website states they are the only animal hospital with an avian specialist, and he traveled from Salt Lake City to receive the best possible care. This was not his first bird--his previous bird passed from a medical condition and had undergone multiple blood draws without issue, despite being smaller. We understand that accidents can happen in veterinary medicine. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of accountability, compassion, or effort to make this right, especially considering the trauma experienced by my minor son, who lost his best friend. I did not want to post this publicly, but after repeated denial and dismissal, I feel I have no choice. All we are asking is for Parrish Creek Veterinary Hospital to do the right thing.

I loved the fact that he comes to me. Everything he needs is right there... the best part? You don't have to take your fur babies to the vet, they come to you! He was very gentle with my babies and had great recommendations for them. He did preform surgery right out front in their mobile lab. My golden needed three teeth pulled and a cleaning. They took such great care of him. My poor Great Dane was so upset that he couldn't be with his pal, but he knew he was in good hands. Did I mention he will look at your Ferrets too? Really good! I will call them again when it's time for my babies check up.

I used Merrypets for group hikes for my dogs. My dachshund would come home appearing happy, and I…read moreassumed he was having a great time. Looking back, I think he was just happy to be home. I started noticing he would growl when I touched him, which was very out of character. At first, I didn't think much of it, but as it worsened, I examined him more closely and was shocked to discover scabbed areas under both of his front legs, resembling severe rugburn. After another hike, I checked him immediately upon return and found his front legs raw and bleeding in multiple spots, with his fur matted in tight knots. I took him to urgent care, and the veterinarian confirmed the wounds were fresh trauma. My dog is 8 years old and very active, but because he's never been off leash before, I had specifically requested that he be kept leashed on hikes. The other dogs were off-leash, and I worry that while trying to keep up with the group, the handler, Caitlin, may have dragged him when he couldn't keep pace. I reached out to Mary for an explanation but received no clear response or indication of concern for my dog's condition. I asked Mary if she would cover the vet bill. Instead, she said she wanted to speak directly with my vet. When I brought that request to my vet, they informed me that she did not have a right to access my pet's medical information due to HIPAA laws. Despite everything, I was kind enough to let the situation go--but I refused to pay the bill for the hike where my dog was injured. Now Mary is charging my account anyway. A good business owner would have shown concern and at the very least offered an apology. Instead, she has shown no empathy and no accountability. This experience was incredibly distressing. I cannot recommend Merrypets based on what happened and how poorly it was handled. My dog has had no more injuries since he stopped going out with Merry Pets. He's happy again and no longer growls at me.
