My daughters hamster broke its leg in two spots. This veterinarian clinic is the only one that would take him within a couple of days of a breaking. everywhere else either doesn't help hamsters or didn't have openings until after Valentine's Day. Dr. Dawn is the best they stayed late to make sure hamster made it. They had to amputate the hamsters leg and the vet tech and the vet both stayed until the hamster woke up which was two hours after closing. and they sent us home with a glove full of warm water to keep the hamster warm, made a cute little E collar, so he couldn't bite his stitches. These guys really do care about your pets.

This is a great exotic pet veterinary office. I called and was able to get an appointment booked at a convenient time for me in my schedule the next business day. They have an online pet portal and automated reminder text messages and emails. The receptionist greeted me when I came in and was expecting me and knew my pet's name. I was quickly seen by the vet tech and veterinarian. (A past review mentioned a long wait once in the room, but I was quickly attended to.) The vet tech was awesome and friendly, and Dr Stearns was amazing and helpful. I chose to lightly sedate my hedgehog so he could have a better first-time, thorough examination. Dr Stearns said it wasn't mandatory and wanted to ensure I had options and to see the fees associated with light sedation before deciding. The fees were totally reasonable so I went for it. Dr Stearns and the vet tech answered all of my questions and also made me a binder for all of my pet's medical evaluations and notes, customized with his picture on the front. I'm so glad I chose Parrish for my newly adopted hedgehog. I'm looking forward to seeing them again for my veterinary needs.

Parrish Creek is the best in the state for exotics and especially for birds. Dr. Folland and Dr. Echols are the only two vets in the state certified as Avian Specialists by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. The aquarium I used to work for contracted Dr. Folland for his expertise in exotics and Parrish Creek is my first choice for all of my animals. My African gray parrot injured himself while learning to fly and I took him to Parrish Creek right away for an emergency exam. They had him fixed up within a few hours and I took him home that night! After a day he was back to normal. I was nervous about using a needle to administer his medications but they showed me how. Parrish Creek provides great customer service and the highest quality care for both domestic and exotic pets!

This place has always treated all my animals and has gave all my pets the best stay. I recently had a 48 lb Turkey come in with infected bumble foot. They performed surgery and were all hoping he makes a full recovery. Thanks Dr. Echols and all the other staff that helped with Kevin. Jack, Jen, Haley and Ashley have been so nice whenever I bring Kevin in.

DO NOT TAKE ANY OF YOUR SWEET PETS HERE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. To say it bluntly, they killed our baby 5 month old bunny yesterday. We brought in our two baby bunnies to be spayed in the morning and within a couple hours received a very cold insensitive call that our baby Churro had died. She started by saying she had bad news about Churro, talked for 3 minutes about the surgery and how she "realized after awhile that Churro wasn't breathing" ... not right away, but AWHILE... which tells me they weren't even monitoring her, they just left her in a room to die. Then ended with "Churro is dead"... there was no empathy and no apologies just cold "your pets dead" in a tone that felt as if she thought it wouldn't matter since it's a bunny. She also tried to tell me that Churro was "really old, and that's probably why she died". When I replied with "she's 5 months old, We got her in April this year as a tiny baby bunny from the same litter the other bunny is from"... she argued with me TWICE more telling me that Churro was old. When I started asking questions, she immediately told me to hold and left me on hold for TWELVE MINUTES. The next person I spoke to couldn't tell me whether or not I had to PAY the $500+ for the surgery they did that resulted in Churros death. Then she put me on hold. Then the dr got on the phone and started telling me the story from the beginning... she told me that they shaved Churros mats before the surgery and that she seemed "extremely stressed" before they put her under. I told her to stop right there, because I had advised the technician that took her into the vet to not shave Churro unless there was time while she was under... and I could schedule another time if not. So they went against my direct instructions on this, stressed her out completely, then did a major surgery. Her response to this is that "well crystal is new and doesn't know how the surgery works and you can't put a bunny under that long to shave them. Also because of Covid, many have left our clinic so we are short staffed".... She basically told me the person that took our baby Churro into the clinic, not only didn't know how the surgery worked, but didn't know how to answer my questions or relay information correctly. If that's how you describe your employees they should not be dealing with the pet owners at all, and especially not alone. At this point STILL no one has told me if we have to pay for Churros surgery and I'm on hold. I finally hung up after sitting on hold forever and the Director called me back. He was the FIRST interaction so far that started with "I'm sorry for your loss"..... when speaking with him he asked "so you know that shaving has stressed Churro out in the past?"... and I replied with "YES, BECAUSE YOUR CLINIC IS THE ONE THAT GROOMED HER PREVIOUSLY AND COULD NOT FINISH BECAUSE SHE WAS SO STRESSED" unreal that he didn't even know they had treated Churro previously. he told me everything I experienced so far with their clinic was unacceptable and seemed to actually care that I had to break my daughters poor heart telling her that her baby bunny had been killed. We drove there to pick up our other bunny as well as Churro. My husband had to go back and forth with them on whether we were paying or not for over 30 minutes. The Director came out as well as two others and it felt like ganging up on us to me. I stayed in the car because I had been crying all day with my daughter and I was way too mad to interact. After we left I spoke to multiple places in SLC that spay and neuter and they all couldn't remember the last time they had lost a bunny to that surgery and told me "they must've not known what they were doing somehow because that shouldn't happen". One, specifically, spays about 3 bunnies a day and couldn't believe my story. All in all, what it comes down to is they killed our baby bunny and the fact that we even had to ask and discuss payment was disgusting. We wanted to pay full price for two surgeries, not get half off and come home with one dead. We now no longer have our sweet Churro and can never hold her again.

I started noticing he would growl when I touched him, which was very out of character. At first, I didn't think much of it, but as it worsened, I examined him more closely and was shocked to discover scabbed areas under both of his front legs, resembling severe rugburn. After another hike, I checked him immediately upon return and found his front legs raw and bleeding in multiple spots, with his fur matted in tight knots. I took him to urgent care, and the veterinarian confirmed the wounds were fresh trauma. My dog is 8 years old and very active, but because he's never been off leash before, I had specifically requested that he be kept leashed on hikes. The other dogs were off-leash, and I worry that while trying to keep up with the group, the handler, Caitlin, may have dragged him when he couldn't keep pace. I reached out to Mary for an explanation but received no clear response or indication of concern for my dog's condition. I asked Mary if she would cover the vet bill. Instead, she said she wanted to speak directly with my vet. When I brought that request to my vet, they informed me that she did not have a right to access my pet's medical information due to HIPAA laws. Despite everything, I was kind enough to let the situation go--but I refused to pay the bill for the hike where my dog was injured. Now Mary is charging my account anyway. A good business owner would have shown concern and at the very least offered an apology. Instead, she has shown no empathy and no accountability. This experience was incredibly distressing. I cannot recommend Merrypets based on what happened and how poorly it was handled. My dog has had no more injuries since he stopped going out with Merry Pets. He's happy again and no longer growls at me.
