I came across this practice on Yelp and noticed so many pet owners praising Dr. Clive's genuine, heartfelt care--and now I understand why. From the moment we walked in, the staff made me feel like my dogs were their top priority. Scheduling the appointment was easy, pricing was very transparent with no surprises, and everyone went above and beyond to ensure Flex and Apollo were comfortable. Even when we had to wait on the radiologist to review X-rays, I never felt rushed out. Instead, I was given time to sit with my boy and take in what I thought might be one of our last moments together. Thankfully, we received some hopeful news, though we still have a mountain to climb and a CT scan ahead. Through it all, I could see and feel how much Dr. Clive and his team truly care about their patients and the people who love them. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for compassionate, thorough, and trustworthy veterinary care.

They made such a difficult day as peaceful and comforting as possible. I especially want to recognize Bree, the vet tech, who went above and beyond with her empathy and genuine care. Her kindness helped ease one of the hardest moments I've ever experienced, and I'll never forget it. Thank you to everyone for treating Charlie with such love and dignity throughout his life and during his final moments. I will always be grateful for the exceptional care you provided. I wholeheartedly recommend this veterinary office to anyone looking for a team that truly cares about both their patients and the families who love them. Our rescue foster was showing symptoms of a progressively accelerating URI so with one days notice, our rescue director found a way to have Lakeside fit him in. It took awhile for him to be seen but that was somewhat expected given the situation. The team took extra precautions not to infect the other animals (as respiratory infections are contagious) while also making our pup feel like a king instead of a walking infection. He had a few things going on health wise so it was nice to see them build him a plan, ask if we'd like to move forward after presenting the pricing, and send us a written plan to take home. They mentioned following up in a few days. All in all, this was a really positive experience.

When my rabbit's health deteriorated later, toward the end of his life, she was very gentle when helping me through the difficult decision of euthanasia. Also, the cremation package was lovely. The clinic staff is great, they're responsive and helpful. The office is clean, calm, and organized, even though they are very busy. A Diagnostic Virtuoso: The "Mozart" of Veterinary Medicine…read more As a retired Clinical Director who has spent a career hiring and evaluating medical professionals, I have an exceptionally high standard for clinical competence and professional integrity. For months, I searched for answers for my 123-pound gentle giant, Axel. I took him to several well-known clinics in Houston, but regrettably, they failed to find even the single mass I had discovered myself. They simply fumbled the opening statement. Then, I found Dr. Anna Parham at PetCare Express on Holcombe Boulevard. Dr. Parham is a true prodigy of her craft. While others relied on expensive overhead and corporate checklists, she used her hands and her clinical intuition--the soul of medicine that is clearly in her DNA. Within minutes, she identified three separate masses that the previous clinics had entirely missed. She performed a single FNA (Fine Needle Aspiration) to confirm the nature of the primary mass, while her expert clinical touch immediately identified the others as typical, benign lipomas. She gave us the unremarkable exam result we had been searching for. From the moment we walked into PetCare Express, the entire staff was exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful. In a high-pressure field, their genuine caring and support created a seamless, stress-free environment for both me and my dog. Dr. Parham found in minutes what high-priced hospitals missed for months. She recognized a client who values quality and met that standard with an honest, transparent diagnosis. In a city of systemic predatory patterns, Dr. Anna Parham and the team at PetCare Express are a sanctuary of honesty. She is young, brilliant, and possesses a natural mastery of medicine that mirrors a virtuoso. Axel walked out a perfect patient, and I walked out knowing I have finally found the successor to the great legacy vets of Houston.

The Cat Doctor is a fitting, yet simple name for one of the highest rated veterinarians in the entire city. They do a good job and provide good care for the felines who need it most. They're located in Montrose, and for much of the pandemic, did not allow for folks to come in. Animals were strictly drop off only and this was only in practice until very recently. They were extremely diligent for every visit and still continue to be extremely good about appointment reminders and constant communication. I also believe it takes a certain cadence to be able to provide a thorough examination for any animal, and Dr. O definitely has this ability to work with them all. She has excellent bedside manner, is knowledgeable and very professional. Then there's the bill. It ultimately depends on the procedures done, they don't tend to run cheap even with insurance. One should always make the best decision for their pets while considering the medical advice from vets like Dr. O.

Dog is needing surgical services and like any animal owner I'd like to know a range of pricing to understand where I'm going to land. Not an exact number but a nice range with a high degree of variability. That isn't the policy here. They immediately try to schedule an appt for a "consultation" and tell you you HAVE to pay a $50 deposit for this great honor, apparently. I told her before I commit to an appt I'm trying to see between them, blue pearl, and other facilities that are through our rescue network. She said verbatim "legally I cannot disclose pricing that's a conversation after you pay your deposit and have the consultation with your doctor". What? Are you kidding me? This tells me a few things, their pricing is astronomical and they try to lock you into surgery or lose your deposit. And they can't be trusted. If you have this shroud of secrecy around a range of pricing, then you aren't who I want to consider doing business with. These people have gotten too big for their britches. I'm looking elsewhere.
