This Law Group is a joke, Veterans of color stay away. They told me that evidence that was only 4 years removed from the claim is to old because the RO/BVA never considered it. Violation of 38 cfr 3.156(b) read Lang v. McDonald or Young, Beraud, Bell concerning evident in possession of the VA that was not considered pertaining to a old claim. I waited 11years on the va to approve my claim. I turned it over to veterans law group. They got my claim approved in 2 months. I am giving them no stars they were hired by my husband and I to help us obtain just the last 10% of disability to be fully disabled with the VA and these people did nothing. I filed of the filings for new claims myself, I did all the paperwork myself while having a pending 60 notice on me for my residents all while they, blocked out calls. I called one day 72 times in one day just to get someone to talk to me. Then shortly after I'm assuming they blocked our calls so they were released as our attorney. These people don't deserve to work for veterans let alone anyone, be responsible human beings answer your phone and don't block people. I heard these folks on the radio, as I'm sure many of us have. I sent them everything they asked for and was told someone would be calling to interview me shortly. 5 weeks later... no email. No phone call. No voicemail. Nada! Ironically I was calling to transfer my case from my current advocate because he too never responds or communicates with me! Mark Lippman and his legal team at the Veterans Law Group are the best at dealing with the VA and cutting through all their red tape. I've had great success dealing with Laura Anderson and Stephannie Alvarez. In 2012 I was rated 40%. Eight years later, I got an increase to 90%. Then three years later in 2023, I was granted TDIU and get 100% pay with dental and the works. I have two pieces of advice for anyone fighting the VA. First off, get a competent attorney like Mark Lippman to represent you. My other advice is to get them what they need, then sit back and let them do what they do best, fight the VA on your behalf. Do not pester them. They have automated software and know what moves to make and when. Trust the process! They always get back with you, even if it's 9 months later. This is NOT them dropping the ball, they are dealing with the VA which is very slow. They filed a writ of mandamus on my behalf. They got a letter from a doctor stating that I couldn't work anymore. Sorry, but VSOs like the DAV and Veterans of Foreign Wars don't go to these extremes to help you. They have good intentions but have way too many veterans that need help. Now they are about to represent me in Washington DC with a Special Compensation Bonus. Make sure you block out your ssn I forgot to do so. The Veterans Law group shouldn't exist, they are all about making money and don't care about veterans. To start I had Star Borseth who didn't remember I sent her important paperwork about the future treatment. Anyways I called 6 months after working with them and she says she's waiting to see if I'll need surgery. So that was about 2 months after she says she's waiting for my paperwork that states what's happening. With sciatica and spinal stenosis I can't have surgery and had proof I sent the emails to here. Anyways she had no clue what I was going through despite almost a hundred of sent emails about my treatment. Upset I changed to Ed Barrick and OMG he's very rude and far worse than Star, I requested to withdraw them as my legal representation and I got a letter authorizing it. Just dont use them, they are absolutely horrible. You're better off using a Veterans Service Officer for free, anything is better than VLG read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Do not use this company!!!!! The only people that answer the phone are the sales team. They are for sure a chop shop. They just want as many cases as they can get and see which ones will pay them. No one returns phone calls and no one answers questions. I have been lied to every time I have tried to get details. One of many examples: The VA would send a request for information to me, with a request for a response in 15 days. I would email the contact person the company gave me " Edward Barrick" and he would return a 1 sentence email 45 days later. I had to take my best guess and provide the documents to the VA without an guidance from whom is supposed to be giving me guidance (the law firm). I called to try and have someone help me and when no one but the sales would take my call, I told the salesperson (the only people that answer) to note in my file that I didn't want to work with them anymore. Then I received a call back from another attorney (I think her name was Amanda). I explained the horrible service I had received. She agreed without agreeing that service was bad. A very lawyer response from her (not to admit wrong doing). She assigned me a new paralegal and she promised me both that the paralegal would respond to any email I send within a week (I don't think asking for a response in a week labels me a needy client Ha-Ha) and that she would have the paralegal send me an email so I know who my new point of contact is. I am still waiting on that email. I would call to find out but no one takes calls or returns messages. Along with this, I am not sure if they filed for the appeal correctly. I want to ask them and clarify a few points but I can't get anyone to talk to me. I think it was filed incorrectly and therefore effecting my chances to win the appeal. A 5 minute conversation with them would help me understand if it was filed correctly or if a mistake was made that can be fixed. As well, the lawyer assigned to me case Mark Lippmann who may be the owner of the horrible firm/company I have never spoken with. While writing this review I called in and asked for the owners name and I spoke with the only people willing to take a call (the sales team) and they said they were unable to provide the owners name and that was private. I am a Viet Nam era veteran and I engaged Veterans Law Group to represent me. It was a challenging case, as my disability had been ongoing for decades. I first went to Escondido Veterans Services at 649 W Mission Avenue 7 years ago to assist me with my disability claim application. I received great help and advice from a retired Marine sergeant major and a retired PhD from CSUSM. They had the experience to help me file all the necessary forms correctly, and I received an award for my hearing loss within a year. The balance of my claim required great legal assistance which I received from Veterans Law Group. It was a long and arduous process, which required me to locate old Army veterans for "buddy letters", numerous doctor visits and VA exams, multiple video hearings involving me, my VLG attorney and the Veterans Administration. VLG carried my case all the way to the United States Court of Veterans Appeals. After 7 years my case was decided in my favor, and VLG was with me every step of the way. I have read many of the reviews of VLG and anyone who thinks that they can speed up their case which may take years to resolve, by calling Veterans Law Group 72 times in one day is indeed a sad case. read more

I hired these sleazebag lawyers to help with my claim a few years back. When I listed what I believe were my entitlements, I was told by Lippman that he didn't notice that I had a valid claim for those additional claims. They also recommended that I file a PTSD claim, when I do NOT have PTSD. They wanted me to defraud the Gov't.! I honestly believe they were going to entrap me. They would have lied their collective asses off, if & when I were caught defrauding the Gov't.. When they advised me to file PTSD and told me that my other claim (CUE) was invalid, I decided to dump this firm. I mentioned that I was no longer being represented by this scumbag and his firm and I also noted that they wanted me to file a fraudulent claim. The stupidass VA STILL paid these maggots, despite the damning statement! Today, 4/29/2020, I discovered that that POS Lippman, sent a letter to the VA in Dec. 2019, insisting on future compensation for any claims that I END UP getting resolved. I fired this ASSHOLE around 2017!? I'm filing a complaint to the California Bar Association about this group! I'm also going to file a report with the VAOIG! read more

The Veterans Law Group is terrible! I'm hardheaded and didn't want to believe the negative reviews I read about this firm. BIG MISTAKE! Don't walk away from these people, but run as fast as you can! I wish I could give them zero stars because they are that bad. BEWARE of NICOLE especially! She has a very bad attitude. Rude and condescending like I've never seen from a law firm before. I expect more from what is suppose to be a professional organization than this behavior. I've received better customer service at a hot dog stand in New York City than I got from these folks. They handled my VA appeal-until I fired them, in fact I have still not heard from them and they may not even be aware they are fired yet. They use an answering service and screens calls. You won't get through when they are trying to dodge you. The Lawyer seemed legit over the phone but once you have questions about why they haven't done what they have promised they vanish like Bin Laden on you. Skip these guys. Use the DAV or Legally blonde for that matter over these guys. I wish I never wasted any time with these people. This firm is not professional and your privacy is at risk. If you value your protections under the HIPPA laws I would seriously consider your options elsewhere. I sent my personal information to Vetlaw in full confidence of privacy. Initially they set proper expectations that it would be a few days for review and they would be in touch. A few days passed and I received a 26 page contract from an entirely different law firm with all of my private information attached. I was shocked to open an agreement from a Lawfirm I had never spoken to or heard of that has all of my information, requesting that I sign their agreement? There was no communication with me, no answers, knowledge of, or explanations. In fact they acted as if this is the how they do it all the time and apparently privacy laws do not apply . I contacted Vetlaw who decided to be defensive, rude, and hung up the phone when I was the one being violated. I had researched Vetlaw prior to making contact. I had never heard of the other firm they decided to forward my information to without my consent. I feel extremely violated by the actions of Vetlaw and they have no authorization from me. Hippa Training is needed at Vetlaw. It is required to have my written consent to be able share my private information of Medical, SSN, D.O.B., addresses, and more. Very disappointed how this was handled and the reaction of Vetlaw regarding my right to privacy. It was obvious they did not care one bit about my privacy and me questioning their choices. Imagine giving someone your private information in full confidence and they share this with another firm who sends an agreement to sign without even contacting me or making me aware on any level what was happening? I contacted Vetlaw for assistance based on reviews and research. Had I known they were going to forward my file to another firm I would have never allowed this and would have severed the ties immediately. Very disappointed!. Vetlaw has completely disregarded the issue as if it is not a big deal and privacy does not apply. The law is clear written authorization is needed to share this sensitive information. Both Law firms think it does not matter? Why? Because they are attorney's and do not have to abide by the privacy laws that protect the consumers. They should get a 0!!! I tried countless other times to get updates and was hung up on and when I was able to leave a message, no return calls made. After one year, I get an urgent email...send us some info from your claim (they already had it). I resent it and they told me that because I waited too long, I needed to start my claim over. I reached out to this firm to assist me with my appeals process and the amount of screening they put me through before deciding if they were going to take my case was beyond ridiculous. I submitted all of the required pre-screening documents as requested but after two weeks never heard back. I finally emailed and then called to see what was the status. Shortly after me reaching out, I received a call from some lady asking me even more questions. Two days after that I received a call telling me that the attorney has decided not to take my case. "WHAT"?? you mean to tell me after putting me through all of that now you're not going to take my case?? Well I figured out why. It boils down to money. Just as the others stated in the previous post if the low life firm can't get a substantial amount of money out of your case they don't want your business. So that being said, this law firm is not out for the Veteran only for themselves. So please don't waste your time!!! read more

I give the Veterans Law Group Five Stars because they do exactly what they say they will do for you. I have only been a client for seven months, but during that time they have been the irresistible force that has worked on my behalf to obtain records and schedule hearings with the Veterans Administration. They have kept me informed every step of the way. Before I engaged VLG, I checked with the BBB and learned that they have been in business for 16 years with only one negative comment, and have earned an A+ rating. The few negatives in Yelp may have resulted from higher expectations than the evidence warranted. If you are a veteran; please stay away from this "group" They do not communicate with you, they will ensure the case takes longer than what needed in order to rise their percentage. When you do get to talk to them (if you are lucky to reach them or to have them call you back) it seems they do not have any idea of how your case is prospering. What the lawyer tells you does not match with what you were told by his assistant of the letters. I could keep addressing and explaining the so many issues I did found, when having them as representatives; but it would take me a whole day to do so. In Jan 2019 I reached out to Veterans Law Group after I had already started my appeal. I already had my SOC in hand and needed help. I first spoke to Star who was very courteous. I sent the paperwork and 5 days later they said they would take the case and they filed the form 9. In February 2019 I was looking online and noticed it said my appeal was closed. I called the VA and spoke to Jennifer who said it was closed due to not receiving the Form 9 in time but then acknowledge that the form was upload well within the time frame. She stated there was a problem and she was going to submit an inquiry. I spoke to Star at VLG and she said the VA didn't know what they were talking about because once the Form 9 is received it is transferred out of the VA system into VBA system. Now it's been over a year and VLG has been telling all is fine. Two weeks ago I called the VA back trying to get in touch with the VBA so I could see if my claim was even on the docket. They informed me I do not have an appeal but the guy I spoke to was very helpful and he said he put put in an inquiry and they would have five days to respond. I told him they still haven't responded to the inquiry from a year ago. This claim is 5 years old now. I sent a letter to my Congressman and I then sent an email to Violet at VLG explaining everything. I waited a week and heard nothing. I emailed her again and she said the paralegal working on my case had received the email but the lawyer was out all last week and I should hear something soon. It's been almost two weeks and nothing. A claim that is five years old and they have sat on for a whole year and done nothing. No follow ups nothing. I gave them a two because they are very nice while you're being screwed but I give them a zero for any kinda of effort or follow up. When I told them a year ago the said my appeal was closed they didn't even follow that up. I do not recommend this Group for anything. They seem to only want the money and they don't listen to their client. Now I have to reread my contract to see if I can dump them because we don't have an appeal and never had one. read more
