To say that I am grateful for Attorney Ramos and her supporting staff would be an understatement. From my first interaction with Ms. Ramos, I felt heard and understood. Ms. Ramos has demonstrated a deep level of understanding in her craft, and took the time to listen to my concerns. Her expertise and guidance has made what seemed as an impossible situation possible. She always made herself available to address all my questions and concerns and kept me informed every step of the way and dedication to has been truly impeccable. I would highly recommend Carmen Ramos, Esq. to anyone through a difficult family law situation,as she's been a God send  for me. read more

wanted to follow up here with proof and I'm mad all over again in mediation Shanon advised me to settle with my ex-husband and pay him a very large sum. I was not OK with this and knew this wasn't right so I fired her and hired another lawyer. The total settlement that I was ordered to pay him by a judge was $35,000. if I had gone with Shannon Miles advice it would've cost me over $1 million and devastated me financially. I am still so upset with my experience and her horrible legal advice that I'm considering filing a complaint with the bar. Thank god I knew better and kept fighting for myself read more

I do not recommend Cage & Miles law firm to anyone. They have shown that they are more interested in dragging out cases and piling up unnecessary hours just to collect retainer after retainer. The attorney, Alaina Lynch, did nothing on my case for more than two months after I retained her. She didn't even file a single motion with the court. It felt like she was siding with the opposing counsel's plan of action, and I never felt she was working for me. $5,000 down the drain! read more

I would avoid the Cage & Miles law firm. Especially Ryan Goulet and Jillian Duggan-Herd as attorneys. They both did not handle my divorce well for me. It seemed Ryan was more concerned about my ex-husband than me. He pressured and rushed me to accept my settlement. And a week later when Ryan emailed me a Marital Settlement Agreement (a formal written agreement of the term sheet that I signed a week prior) to review, I discovered I could have had more to negotiate with. Ryan even wrote in the email "Let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything you wish to change or add". And boy did I. There were 5 things I wanted to change, especially one. When I emailed Ryan the changes I wanted to make, he called me and told me that I could not make changes to what I already signed. So then why did he email me "Let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything you wish to change or add"? Ryan did not tell me that I could have had the condo appraised and with that amount, ($66,623.50) that could have been part of my settlement. I was so upset with him that I spoke to Jamie Cage, a partner in the firm. She told me that Jillian Duggan-Herd, another partner in the firm, would be involved in my case and would negotiate with my ex-husband's lawyer about the condo appraisal. Jaime also told me that Jillian told her that she worked with my ex-husband's lawyer in the past and that my ex-husband's lawyer would not "F***" with her. But I was not satisfied with the amount, it was way too low, $5,500.00. Then Jillian told me that she would go back and ask for an additional $4,500.00. I did not agree, the amount was still too low in my opinion. It looked like my ex-husband's lawyer did "F***" with Lillian. I told Jillian that I wanted my money back from what I paid the firm and she told me that she could not do that. I learned later that any "Good" firm has insurance and should have given me my money back because I was not satisfied with their service. I ended up hiring another attorney just to finish up my divorce for me. I thought if you hired an attorney, you would be told of all of your options. That was not the case for me. If you & your spouse are getting a divorce, try to work together by hiring a mediator. They know the law and don't charge an outrageous amount like lawyers do. Save your money. If Cage & Miles wants me to remove my post because they didn't like what I had to say, I won't so don't ask me. Don't be mad at me, be mad at Ryan Goulet and Jillian Duggan-Herd. read more

Ver professional and thorough. Ms S Miles is great, and so are Christina and Maricris.

After a consultation with Maria yesterday I asked if I could split up my $5000 retainer with half down and the remaining in 2 weeks. I told her if not, I understood. She told me she'd have to ask Shannon and other partners. I then received this email from Stephanie. I messaged her this morning so that I could pay and was told (in email) that it was getting drafted and would have it shortly. I waited until almost 3 and messaged again, and didn't get a response, so I called. Maria called me back to say that the partners decided they would take $1500 to review my case and decide if they could do anything. When I asked what changed and why was I told that everything was good to go, she said she was sorry that I misunderstood or misinterpreted what was said. Looking at this email that is titled "RETAINER APPROVED" please help me understand what I misread?? Maria went from a compassionate attorney that I felt so great about to cold with in less than 24 hrs. As I cried to her that I didn't understand she kept just repeating that it was basically my fault for misinterpreting what I was told 100% read more

Jamie and her team were seriously the best. I sought several consults and I immediately felt the most comfortable with her. She gave me accurate expectations throughout the process. She listed to my concerns and was able to convey the case from an experienced attorney perspective and put it together in a very clear organized process. She was able to anticipate things that I never would have thought of which made all the difference in having a clear new judgement. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I appreciated how responsive she was. Her attention to detail and ability articulate was fantastic, I loved how she sent me drafts ahead for edits and then we would review and discuss together. Her draft were spot on and very little revisions were needed. She listened to me and would make modifications while still advising me. I really felt like she personally cared about me and understood my situation. I would recommend her to anyone with a custody case especially a difficult one. read more

During my divorce process my attorney Steven Brumer divulged client attorney information to my ex husband's attorney without my knowledge. Worth every single penny!!! I contacted Cage & Miles after I made the difficult decision to leave my marriage. Shannon Miles provided me with a consultation and some great advice on how to move forward with the process (PSA: note to those who haven't started the process yet...!listen to your attorney's advice, they're the experts, they've seen it all and they just want to protect you from what will happen, and trust me, it will happen!). When I realized that my ex spouse had hired an attorney and filed for divorce (Surprise! See, he did exactly what they told me he would -- I should have listened!), I knew I had the best team to support me. Shannon introduced me to another attorney on staff, Maria Spear, who I instantly connected with and trusted to help me through the divorce process. Maria was confident, dedicated, professional, kind, smart, understanding and had my back through every twist and turn... and there were many! My ex spouse and his attorney tried to take us for a ride, but Maria stood firm and fought for what was right. She knew her stuff!! There were (many) times when I was angry, confused, emotional and down right exhausted. Maria let me express my emotions and then brought me back to the table to make solid & sound decisions. I wouldn't have made it through this process without her. Leaving a marriage is tough, and so is the divorce process. But in the end, Maria showed me that I am just as tough. If you want someone to stand by your side, encourage your strength and give it to you straight, Maria and the team at Cage & Miles are for you! If I had to go through this process all over again, the only thing I would change is to have hired them sooner! Thank you Shannon, Maria and your amazing team. I am eternally grateful. read more

I highly recommend Ksenya Kogan to anyone who finds themselves in the tough spot of navigating a divorce. She was highly recommended to me by a friend, and hiring her was the best decision I ever made. Without her assistance, I would have given in so many times along this journey. She fought for me when I didn't know how to stand-up for myself, and the end result was a settlement that far exceeded my expectations and at a cost far lower than the other party paid their attorney. Without her, I have no doubt I would have been paying outrageous alimony for the rest of my life. Instead, her expertise and tenacity resulted in me finally being able to completely move forward. read more

I retained Avi Levy on two occasions and recommend him as a family law attorney. He is an exceptional attorney with many strengths, including intelligent, persuasive, and likable. He also has excellent communication skills. Thus, he is able to capture the attention and favor of judges in court. Avi has strong problem solving skills, pays attention to details, and has a solid grasp of accounting (and math skills), which are often relevant in family law cases that require forensic accounting. He is indeed expensive, but if you have abundant financial resources to hire a top notch attorney you will not be disappointed. Avi will work hard to optimally defend your case and help protect your most important assets, including children and finances. read more

Cage and Miles is great at delaying custody dates so they and opposing counsel can rack up billing while you go without custody orders. I would definitely not recommend this office to anybody. read more

I was referred to Ryan Goulet by one of our family friends. We had high expectations going into this partnership as the referral source is someone we admire. The expectations were met and then some! Ryan was on top of his game from the very first phone conversation we had, until the entire dispute was resolved. He has incredible response time and any questions I had or clarification I needed, he made sure were answered. He is a no-nonsense type of guy, and is looking out for his clients best interest. I am beyond happy with my experience using Cage & Miles - specifically Ryan, and I suggest them to everyone who asks. I hired John Sylvester on an appeal filed by my ex on a domestic violence restraining order that I had won. Appeals are not easy. You come in after the fact and need to get up to speed. I would (and will) recommend John to anyone out there looking for THE BEST family law attorney/appellate attorney. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Maria and Cinthia and the firm! After a terrible experience with another firm who constantly had me working with different people, never following up with me, and dragging my case out for over a year, costing me so much money, I was discouraged to say the least. I came here where they listened to me, always got back to me quickly, and charged me fairly! Thanks to Maria listening to me and working with me, she got my case settled and got me everything I wanted within a few months of me switching to her as my lawyer. I cannot recommend my attorney Avi Levy enough! I was dealing with a very high conflict divorce with children. He is highly knowledgeable and a skillful negotiator. He is super responsive and dealt with all of my emotional drama and demands. Avi is knowledgeable and is able to be firm in his approach but also professional. While my divorce was extremely painful Jaime, Ryan and company did a great job at helping me get through it. I hired them because, when interviewing lawyers, Jaime Cage was the only attorney I met with who truly listened to me and addressed my specific concerns rather than giving me a canned sales pitch. My only initial hesitancy was that Jaime was a young attorney and I wasn't sure how she would fare against other attorneys with potentially more years under their belt. That concern was put to rest at our first court appearance where she immediately took charge and clearly demonstrated her expertise and command of the legal system. Unfortunately, my ex ending up taking me to court countless times. While many of motions filed by my ex were frivolous they were also incredibly scary with the potential to ruin my great relationship with my daughter and/or completely destroy me financially. Jaime and team won every time. While the process ended up being lengthy, the Cage and Miles team were constantly focused on resolving the divorce as soon as possible. Ryan was especially invested in looking out for my best interests and helping me get though to the end. read more

I highly recommend this firm. Jillian Duggan-Herd represented me in my military divorce and while she is very well-versed in divorce law and is also one of the top rated attorneys in California, the part of her representation of me that meant the most was, she gave me peace of mind. I was blindsided by my former spouse who abruptly abandoned me, our 23 year marriage and our children in California where I had no family (we were there on his orders) and found myself completely alone and in dire straits. Jillian took my case and from the very beginning she took control of everything legal related and in turn, took those worries off my mind. One of the most challenging aspects of my divorce (for me) was the broken trust I felt when my husband abandoned us. I was CONSUMED with emotion and because of it, I simply could not think logically. Jillian did that FOR me. She showed me how a once loving marriage had now become, basically, a business deal. That may sound crass but it's 100% true and it was exactly what I needed to learn. I was then able to begin healing, thinking logically, and fighting for me, for once. I didn't see Jillian as just my divorce attorney, I saw her as a partner. We were a team. A very well dressed team, might I add ;) She got me through, what was, the hardest time in my life. I don't know if good attorneys like Jillian know how much support they provide to their clients, above and beyond just knowing the law and being a good attorney...but I want her to know, hence my reason for writing this review. I would be remiss if I didn't write about the team at Cage and Miles. They handled every aspect of my case with the utmost professionalism; from representation in court, to billing, to timeliness of filing documents, to returning phone calls and emails promptly and even their paralegals keeping me informed and educated on what was going on with my case, every step of the way. They excelled in every aspect of the process that I hired them to handle. Thank you so much, Team Cage and Miles. Sincerely. Lastly, I want to note that, while the attorneys at Cage and Miles are proficient in every aspect of divorce law, they are especially adept in military divorce law. It was so difficult to find a civilian lawyer who actually understood the nuances of a military divorce. Jillian was actually the second divorce attorney I hired after having to terminate my previous attorney for failure to perform. Jillian knows her stuff. I feel so fortunate to have found Jillian and Cage and Miles. They took a messy divorce and cleaned it up quite nicely for me. read more

I agree with the previous review by KJC. Jamie Learkos did not defend me in court during my exparte. She said we had an agreement during the exparte when I clearly told her that wasn't what I wanted. When the hearing appointment was being made, she didn't want the following month's appointment, because to my surprise, she has a honeymoon to go to that I had no idea about. She didn't ask to substitute Cage Or Miles, she simply delayed the hearing. Thousands of dollars later, I am stuck in an uphill battle. Take my word for it, do not hire this firm. They will charge you like crazy without informing you of the details or defending you in court. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Cage and Miles. I'ved worked with Jaime and her team for over 2 years now for my divorce modifications. They have come through every single time when I needed them. They are not the type of lawyers that takes your money and do minimal work. They go far and beyond for anything even if the issues are small. They caught things that I did not even notice. Jaime especially takes her time listening to me and giving me the most honest opinion. Initially, I was dealing with my ex-husband by myself to save money, but it became very stressful. I decided to hire an attorney and turned to a professional that can take that stress away. I interviewed a few lawyers in my area, but no one compared to Jaime and her team. I highly recommend everyone to use Cage and Miles. read more

I got a referral to Cage & Miles as my attorney at the time just wasn't working for me. I had to wait two weeks before my initial consultation and honestly they were excruciating. When I got the chance to talk with Shannon, I felt like I was her only client. She listened intently to my concerns about switching attorneys & the status of my divorce. I immediately hired her firm to represent me. Kate quickly sent the welcome package and got me setup in their online portal making uploading all my court documents a breeze. I also met with Robert to go over how I will be billed during my divorce and he explained everything in terms this IT professional could understand. Yes, their rates set me back in my chair but I figured spending money upfront to get the best outcome for myself could save tens of thousands of dollars over the time I would have to pay spousal support. Once my ex found out I retained a new attorney, all the BS they were throwing at me ceased immediately and brought them to the table to negotiate in good faith. I met Ryan shortly after and we hit it right off. I told him I need all this legal stuff explained to me like I'm 12 and he did just that during my divorce. I pummeled him with countless questions and what if's - honestly some of those worries had less chance of happening than getting struck by lightning! Ryan kept me informed the entire time, I never had to send a check-in email to know what was going on. He really reduced my stress during my divorce and the firm was worth every penny I paid them. Jaime Cage helped me through one of the most difficult periods of my life. My ex-spouse had promised in the beginning that our divorce process would be "amicable" but instead hired 3 different attorneys to fight every step of the way. I had Jaime the entire time, and her calm demeanor helped me stay the course, even when opposing counsel continued to demand document after document. She even made sure that any battle I wanted to pursue was worth the attorney fees I would end up paying. She always kept me appraised of developments. I have recommended her to family members who are going through divorces. read more

I worked with Jaime Cage for three years on my high-conflict divorce. I can't say enough good things about Jaime's sharp legal expertise and her calm demeanor throughout this ordeal! She was persistent and dogged in moving my case along. It wasn't easy...she dealt with every abuse of the legal system imaginable generated by the "other side" in what should have been a very straight-forward case. This included multiple changes in opposing counsel, unwarranted changes in forensic accountants, streams of duplicative subpoenas, repetitive false claims, false allegations against professionals and other parties associated with the case, endless delay tactics, and ultimately an unnecessary trial which she tried to head off numerous times with various negotiations and settlement offers. She successfully got court sanctions in my favor time and time again which helped offset some of these needless delays we were subjected to over the years. One of Jaime's best attributes is being truly pro-active with my case. She consistently took initiative to come up with ideas and plans of action that I could take. I never had to chase her down - she was always following up with me on the issues or would contact opposing counsel to follow up on their progress. Jaime always came up with fair yet strategic actions to protect my interests. She listened to all my concerns and "what ifs," and kept me calm and focused with her thoughtful responses. She was a super-sharp advisor to me throughout. Jaime guided me with negotiations in the mandatory settlement conference; then when it was evident a trial was being forced on me, she was able to work out a partial settlement to shave off some of the myriad issues. A trial was the last thing I thought I would have to go through, but Jaime's trial prep was outstanding. She laid out all the issues and supporting documents for the judge so succinctly that it was over in half the time expected. From our initial consultation with Jillian, we knew she was going to be the fairest and firmest attorney to help us with our family law case. We were looking for an attorney that wasn't going to waste our time or theirs to rack up billings, had a winning attitude and was going to be reasonable and realistic with our objectives and options. We were very pleased and appreciative of Jillian's time, diligence, honesty and her approach to our case--so much so, that I referred a friend of mine to Jillian before we even went to our hearing. That was how confident we felt about Jillian and Cage & Miles. At our hearing, Jillian was on time, on point, well prepared and has a professional demeanor and firm attitude that you can tell is well-respected by the Judge and other attorneys present (and that very much intimidated my ex-husband!)
