I hit up the co-op every week before heading to Safeway or Albertson's to make sure I get as much of my grocery list as possible here. They offer a seasonal and varying array of local eggs & dairy, organic produce (some of which is local!), organic prepared foods, organic home goods, and dry goods. Just because they had lacinto kale last week doesn't mean they'll have it today; they switch up their produce often. This is also a great place to find ethnic foods like harissa (Moroccan red sauce), fish sauce, pho noodles, different varieties of couscous, etc. Though I am neither vegan nor gluten free, they offer lots of options in these categories, including vegan cheeses, lentil chips, and gluten free baked goods. One of my favorite features of the co-op is their bulk dry goods section in the back. You can stock up on things like raw nuts, rice, pilaf blends, pasta, and candy by the pound. They also have a large selection of dried herbs. A couple notes - all their meat products are local, but frozen, i.e. don't buy a roast here if you need it cooked for dinner in an hour. On the other hand, the best bacon I've ever had came from here! Also important to note - no alcoholic beverages are sold here. That said, they have some yummy tea, juice, and soda options (mostly unrefrigerated). Everyone who works here is super nice and excited to help you find what you need. Service is A MILLION TIMES BETTER than Safeway, though you do pay for it, even with the 5% co-op member discount. Overall, a great local grocery I'm thankful to have in Laramie!

they at store their kombucha too warm. I went and spoke with someone who claimed to be the manager…read moreand he said "thank you for your opinions."(regarding 40 degrees being too warm for kombucha)" but we met the federal standards..." he insisted because it's illegal to store it above 40 that 40 degrees is sufficient. This is a life destroying organization. I had purchased a rotton tomato by mistake, and they wouldn't replace it, they wanted my to go through a formal return process for a silly tomato. I drank a probiotic drink from there and have experienced significant gut issues immediately following. I'm pretty sure it was the drink I bought from T that warm refrigerator.

I stumbled on to this review just by looking up the phone number for Main Street Market. First off…read moreMiss Nunya B if you don't have the courtesy to use your real name you really shouldn't leave a review--especially if it is negative! I see that was the only review for this store and it was submitted in 2013. Nevertheless, I am compelled to write my own review becuase I totally disagree with what Miss Nunya B had to say! Being a small town grocery store definitely is disadvantaged. With smaller customer base they can't be expected to offer as many choices as the big city and can't compete with the big city prices--but they do a darn good job of both! I will argue that driving 30 miles to Walmart to save money doesn't actually do that in consideration of the price of gas, etc. If you shop MSM sales the prices are usually less than the big stores. But price isn't everything...MSM has a GREAT MEAT DEPARTMENT. If you speak directly with one of the butchers I can guarantee you will get the best of what ever you are looking for! They will pick out the very best steaks or roast and you won't be disappointed. The DELI has the best fried chicken in town! And if you call ahead when wanting a big order they will guarantee to have a freshly cooked batch ready when you want to pick it up--never the stuff that has been in the case since lunch! Their meats and cheeses are always fresh and there is always something on sale to choose from. The PRODUCE department is always fresh. They are good to bring in seasonal items with prices very comparable to big stores. Last of all...as a resident of Torrington I love to see all the familiar faces of the employees who work there. MSM provides a lot of jobs and based on how many employees have worked there for a very long time (20+ years) they must treat their employees very well. Yes, I do shop at other stores from time to time--usually for an item that they are not able to get. But Main Street Market is always my go to store for all of my grocery shopping!
