Exceptional vet. Over the past few years we have had three dogs and have taken all three to the Vet Next Door. Nothing but a great experience each time. There was also an incident where we thought my dog had had a bad stroke, so we called and they took us in immediately and we're standing at the door waiting for us and took her back the minute we walked in. A Lifesaver for Our Beloved Marley We can't thank Dr Zach and Dr Bakker and the entire Vet Next Door team enough for the incredible care they gave our dog, Marley during his recent surgery. When Marley began exhibiting symptoms that mimicked what had killed several of our previous dogs, we were terrified we would lose him prematurely too. Dr Zach examined him on a Thursday and gave us the difficult news that we were anticipating, but he also gave us some hope. On the following Monday, Dr Bakker confirmed on ultrasound that Marley had a diseased spleen that should be removed - and that she could do it that day! Given that Marley was a healthy dog otherwise, her prognosis was quite positive and we gave the go ahead to perform the surgery. We brought him home later that day, and she gave us great news later in the week that the oncology report showed the tumors were benign! Our Marley Boy was cured! From the moment we walked through their doors, the entire team treated Marley like one of their own, and now we have our Marley Boy back again! Dr Zach and Dr Bakker demonstrated that they were not only highly skilled but also compassionate and reassuring. We felt fully supported during this stressful time. They explained every step of the procedure clearly, kept us updated, and answered the myriad of questions and concerns we had even in the off hours after surgery. Thanks to their expertise and dedication, Marley made it through surgery and after 3 weeks appears to have made a full recovery. These people will steal you blind! We had 2 puppies (brothers) with diarrhea. When we called they were booked, so they scheduled us as an emergency visit. They insisted we bring in both dogs. Upon arrival we were told that they had a cancellation, so we were able to go right in. I brough in 1 dog and my husband sat in the waiting room with the other dog.... and sat... and sat... and sat! They only examined 1 dog and the technician said, "we will only charge you for 1 emergency visit and 1 regular visit." They only saw ONE dog... and gave me this 3-part probiotic kit that I already tried and did not work! They would not offer any other solution. (I finally found Hill's Prescription food that DOES THE TRICK!) Upon checkout, they charged me for 2 EMERGENCY VISITS? They NEVER even looked at the other dog.... and had a cancellation. I started to try and discuss this... it was SOOOO frustrating I left and never went back. The best thing I ever did.... was leave this place! Just be careful... read more

I heard about the devastating situation that happened with a 5-year-old- hound dog that lost her life under analogous dental procedure I lost my dog in November. I have proof of screenshots showing that I was trying to reach out to the vet, both phone calls and text messages regard my dog. She was sent home with blood everywhere. I asked if she needed to be monitored but they said due to her immunity disease it's going to stop. She ended up bleeding to death and being severely lethargic. I thought it was due to her immunity but it ended up in my gut this whole time I said so something's not right. I feel like they did not do the procedure right and how they handled her aftercare situation. She should have been heavily monitored otherwise I would have had my dog. I would avoid to go to this vet. read more

THEY KILLED MY DOG! STAY AWAY!! If I could give a ZERO I would! Today my google review is gone so I am posting everywhere I can so people know this is a very BAD placed for your beloved pet. I took my 5 year old Dacshund, Brady, for a dental yesterday, based on their recommendation. I had gone in for something else and I told them his breath was bad and so the TECH checked his mouth. So I scheduled. Plus his teeth were done 2 years ago, NO EXTRACTIONS needed. ( Different dentist I moved ) I got a call from the Dr. yesterday ( While he was under anesthesia ) telling me he needed 29 of his 42 teeth extracted. Mind you they have seen this dog 3-4 times in the last 18 months and charged me an "Exam Fee". Apparently there has been no exam done or someone should have noticed basically ALL his teeth were rotting out of his mouth! The dog was eating HARD food everyday and treats with NO issues, very happy healthy dog! At this point the dog had already been under for 1 hour, and they do not like to keep them under for more than 3 hours, which I thought was excessive for a 5 year old 14 lb dog. I told her to take as few as possible as quickly as possible. Apparently they were looking for the "BIG TICKET" yesterday and kept him under to long and he is now DEAD!! Not sure if it was incompetence or inexperience with anesthesia but they killed my whole heart and sole yesterday! When I arrived frantic, almost 1 hour later, let me REPEAT that I arrived 1 hour later there was a group 'STAGED" around him trying to resuscitate him. This was totally staged as we all know he would have been brain dead after 10 minutes!! I am completely sure these money hungry bastards did not spend over an hour trying to resuscitate my dog, Brady. They also mixed my Brady up with another customers dog, a gentleman Mike had his dog in and they called him and told him that his dog had a cardiac arrest on the table, when he arrived it way my dog dead on the table not his. They apologized to him and said we are very busy today and it has been chaotic plus we are short handed! Take your beloved pet somewhere else if you want them back alive! I moved to Parrish a little over a year ago and finally found a vet I am happy with. The entire staff is efficient, pleasant, and knowledgeable.The office is relatively new and very clean. My dog is a senior with a lot of health issues. The technician made sure she noted everything. The staff requested and obtained previous health records instantly, so they have them in my dog's file. Dr. Harrison Pearl took his time and gave my dog a thorough exam. It was probably the most thorough exam she's ever had. He made sure he understood everything about my dog and made recommendations. He didn't try to force costly options on me. I highly recommend and will be bringing my 2 cats there as well. read more

10/27/ 2022 I took my dog in for a normal teeth cleaning. This is something that I had done on a regular basis. When I dropped him off I informed the vet that he was sensitive to being put under and his other vets had adjusted the dose. While he was there they called me and told me that he had several teeth that needed to be pulled Some that were abscessed. The vet recommended I pull them and said if it were her dog she would do it. I told them they could pull the ones that were abscessed but to leave the others. When I went to pick him up he was very lethargic. i took him home and tried to feed him But he could not eat. I called the vet the next morning and they said to bring him in that they believed he had gastrointestinal problem. They gave him in iv and when I picked him up that night he was very weak and still not himself. I tried again to feed him some soft food I could tell he wanted to eat but just could not. The next morning I called the vet again. They told me to bring him back so they could monitor him for the day. I knew something was wrong so I stoped back just to check on him and I could see him laying in the back and no one was with him. He started to through up I went back and got him and told them they were supposed be monitoring him and they obviously were not. I took him home and I tried to feen him some soft food. He ate but immediately through it up. The next day I took him to a specialist as I was explaining to them what was happening the Vet said I know exactly what is wrong. He has esophageal stricture this means that when they put him under they did not accurately monitor him this caused his esophagus to burn. It was painful and restricting him from eating. The Vet said that she could try to fix it by preforming esophageal dilation but it would need to be done several times. This Vet was volunteering from Colorado and was only there that day. They did that procedure and it seemed to help a little but he was still not normal. The next week I took him back the Vet that was there did the procedure again. After she was done she told me that it didn't help at all and that she didn't think they could do anything else for him and the he was suffering and in pain. At this point he had lost 12 pounds in just 10 days. She recommended that I put him down. I took him home and decided to put him down the next day. Please do not take your animals. I lost my best friend because they did not monitor him while he was under. read more

LOVE Vet Next Door! I'm so happy to have a family owned and friendly Vet Office nearby. They have been wonderful in treating and managing care for my Senior Golden, giving us more time together. The care plan, guidance and consultation/communication was excellent, every step of the way. Now they are helping us with our New Fur Baby, and I think they love her as much as we do!
