Now that I'm in Randolph, it's only 25 minutes away. This is my new addiction, for sure! Downtown Winthrop is adorable on its own, so it's a joy to visit. The shop is everything! It has something for everyone. Vintage clothes, handcrafted items, local Maine gifts, a candy store, very carefully and thoughtfully curated collection of seasonal surprises around every corner, and there is so much to explore! Be prepared to spend a couple hours in here, easily! Prices were decent, very affordable. Especially considering every item had so much thought and love put into it. Serious! Every display was PERFECTION! It was definitely inspiring, and made me want to plan out an entire re-do on my home decor. Service here is top notch, we met the owners and they are very sweet. We felt welcomed, and so look forward to coming back. This shop is an absolute GEM. I might die of a broken heart of this goes anywhere...

Now that I am home for the summer, it's harder to find any sort of thrift store, but I walked into the Salvation Army in Lewiston and let the browsing begin. On Wednesdays they have their "family Wednesdays" (or some similarly named event) and everything without a specific color tag is half off. I just snatched up a clutch that I LOVE and haven't stopped using for...wait for it..... $1.50!!!!!!!!! And it's real leather! This is a great place to go without blowing your budget!!

I asked mgr at unused register if they ould be held until 5pm that day. I had to come back, I spent my lunch already just looking for the 1 item. She said YES, she would hold, reminded me that closed at 6. Went right back after work, waited in line again, Mgr register. I reminded her I was there 4hrs ago she was holding tights, gave my name. She said, No that was yesterday. I put them back. Nope, it was today. Few hours ago, I asked if she dated it. She didnt, she put it back. Told me to go look, maybe still there. It wasn't. She argued and Yelled at me while I was leaving. "I DIDN'T HAVE TO HOLD THEM AT ALL. What do you want me to do." No, she didnt have to, but said she would, knew when I was coming back. I expected a manager to do what she said she would. Twice the time wasted, still empty handed

We called here to see if we could have a brass bell engraved. They were confident in their answer…read morein being able to engrave it so we dropped the bell off with them. We called to check on the bell and first were told the girl who could work on it didn't come in until 10 one morning and they would call us with an update. I'm sure there was some confusion with myself calling and my husband being the person they called back however, after we called to check again on the bell, we were told that they engraved it, didn't like how it came out, buffed it, and would be re-engraving it. Once again, when we called to check on it, we were told that the girl that did engraving didn't work on Mondays. Then, next thing we know, they are telling us they can no longer engrave it. I understand that unpredictable situations occur and perhaps my perception of the experience is a bit different, but we were told they could do something and then after apparently doing work, could no longer perform the service requested. It just felt a bit off... everyone was friendly when we would call so nothing against the employees, just ended up being a situation that set us back on this project (a gift) a few weeks longer than we would have liked and just seemed like we were being given false information.
