We got married in Santa Barbara at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum in November 2018 and knowing they have shot at this venue many times was very comforting. We wanted to have photographers that knew the venue due to lighting and where to capture those special moments. We took our wedding party photos at the Hotel Californian and we loved how all those photos turned out. They captured everything about that hotel and why we chose to get ready there. He did the back up photography for my wedding and the picts were SO amazing. Since that time I have hired him to photograph a few other more artistic shoots for me. He has a way of making you feel comfortable and beautiful. This is half the battle in a shoot because it's always nerve racking to have someone take multiple photos of you. The best part about Pat is that he's mostly shooting film. If you know anything about photography, you know film is to digital as floor seats are to nose bleeds. You are still watching the same game but it's a completely different experience. Of course, as all high quality luxurious things go, film is more expensive to develop and you can't just be any geek off the street. You gotta be handy with the steal to earn your keep. ;) (My ode to Warren G.) Pat is well versed in both methods and is happy to shoot either. He also does Super 8 films which are old school and crazy cool. I think the next time I ask him to do a photo shoot, I need a Super 8 film. I'm so vane!! LOL! So let me get to the more professional part of this review. Pat was always on time to our shoots, responded very quickly to emails and phone calls. He was respectful and helpful in his conduct. From our first conversation, Natalie was quick to respond and transparent about pricing and photography style. As people who had never planned a wedding, we appreciate Natalie for her communication. She was helpful during the planning process. Natalie sent us a questionnaire to understand our expectations and preferences and helped us prepare a family photos template (photos with all our family was important to us). Natalie was a true professional on our wedding day. She was punctual and came ready to shoot. Our ceremony had a late start, but Natalie made sure to use the time we had to capture some bride and groom pictures. Additionally, Natalie did an amazing job capturing our small ceremony's intimacy. One of Natalie's many strengths is her familiarity with the Santa Barbara Courthouse. Our photos reflect the best natural lighting and reflected the courthouse's grandeur.
